Forrest, Christie and Turnbull

962

James Forrest’s injury in September happened three days before Jeremie Frimpong’s best performance of the season, in the home win against Hibs.  I remember using the MVP acronym for Jeremie at the time.  Team form until that point was patchy: wins with alarming defensive performances and an unmitigated disaster against Ferencvaros.  The team shape was clearly wrong and pushing Jeremie forward in James absence seemed logical.

It was the first of many changes I wanted to see, each followed by a realisation that we were groping around in the darkness, until Ismaila Soro and David Turnbull became the central points of a midfield diamond.  Having (hopefully) fixed the fundamental tactical problem, James return to full training offers Neil Lennon the flexibility he is denied on the right and enhances his option in the middle.

Ryan Christie is well short of his best form in a Celtic shirt but all of those best performances came when he played through the middle.  He can cover for James and offer options on the right while giving the manager a different option when he wants to swap out David Turnbull in the 10 position.

Masonic conspiracy is a part of the Scottish game, no question about it but we have only got ourselves to blame this season. Sticking with the below average management team we have.

  2. The predictable konsistency league table in terms of Reds an’ Penno’s would seem to favour scoddland’s finest…………

    Aye.

  3. Boyd is an absolute tosser. The only thing missing in his attire is his sash and scarf. Unbiased analysis arse.

If this is true then heads should roll. But of course, we will blame everyone else. Sums up our season if true. Goes from bad to worse.

  5. Penalties and red cards are a factor.

The premier league is at a desperate standard yet some of our games and sevco games are really tight because of 10 men behind the ball.

We have drawn 4 games and in 3 of these games we have conceded 4 penalties. Sevco have yet to concede a penalty in the league this season. They have received crucial match winning penalties against Motherwell, Ross

County and Kilmarnock. Never mind dubious free kicks around the penalty box and non-red cards for morelos. And so on and so on.

Around 90% of premier league referees are sevco supporters which means every 9 out of 10 of our games are refereed by sevco supporters.

If sevco had scottish referees in europe they would be champions league winners year after year.

  6. Onenight- Whether true or not we should not have gone to Dubai during a pandemic. To many chances to catch this virus.

    @CelticFC

Celtic today confirmed that one player has recorded a positive test for covid-19. Clearly the player will receive all our care and full support.

All other members of our squad, management team and backroom squad are negative.

Sheep’s only glimmer of hope would be if huns get somebody sent off . As if Beaton would risk his career doing that!

Totally agree, a huge own goal, the lack of vision coming from the top would make you think we were being run by huns….

  10. Just goes from bad to worse this season.

the season we all dreamed of. has turned into the season when everything has gone wrong.

Feel like I’m living in a parallel universe this season. Or maybe it’s all just a bad dream?

How do you know they caught covid in Dubai.

More likely they caught it here where it’s widespread. Training at lennoxtown yesterday. Don’t let facts or unkowns get in the way of a good Sunday moan 😉

That would allow the board to keep the management team in place for next season.

    Happy days..

  15. lets all do the huddle on

there have been players up and down the country testing positive for covid

the fact that one of ours did so after the dubai trip is neither here nor there

i will suggest had we stayed in scotland then more than 1 of our players would have tested positive

    who knows

Rumour is that it’s Julienne. And he didn’t travel to Dubai.

if thats true then we should go back to dubai for our own safety and play our home games there!!

But we give them the ammunition….

ach they always find their own ammo anyway

fek them. they are all hun rastards

  19. Covid likes people they tell us. Maybe the reason sevco have no cases as no one likes them, which, apparently, they are indifferent about….😉

The trip to Dubai was an own goal whether anyone has caught covid whilst there or not.

We know how the media portray us and we handed them all they needed to do their worst.

We should do what’s right and travelling across the world during a global pandemic was foolish at best.
