Forster move has hurdles to overcome

169

There has been a bit of chat this week about Fraser Forster making his loan move to Celtic permanent.  While there is a chance this could happen, there are hurdles.  Not least is Fraser’s Southampton contract, which is in excess of the £70k per week reported this week.

The keeper is the highest paid player at St Mary’s and will enter the final year of his contract in June.  On the positive side, Southampton have made it clear they are keen to get him off their books, but I would temper expectations that Fraser would write-off millions of salary to come to Celtic.

Celtic and Southampton have worked through several transfers in recent seasons, including the loan deal for Mohamed Elyounoussi, so there is a possibility an accommodation on Fraser’s deal could be part of a wider package.

The major unknown is where Southampton will play their football next season and who will be making squad selection decisions.  They are currently three points from safety in a Premier League relegation spot.  Relegation is likely to increase their appetite to offload players who could not get into the current squad.

    ……………

    Great stuff Mate.

I think that Hologram … will be a “ROARING” success !

    HH

Maybe Celtic could have the whole Celtic Squad of 1967…projected the same way across Celtic Park…imagine 14/15 Lisbon LIONS being “Hologramed” ( is that a word ? ), in such a way when we about to Play the huns…or anyone else for that matter…it would strike FEAR into the opposition hearts LOL ?

    HH

  2. FAO those on here, but especially those on SC…who also sometime Post and Lurk on here…let me say this…..

To those who Posted ” Half truths and LIES” about Me in recent weeks, especially in relation to my poor attendance record at Celtic Park in the last 18 months or so, this poor “Attendance record” has SOLEY been down to ILL HEALTH on my part..

Do any of you get/understand that ?

ILL feckin HEALTH !!!!…..even before my most recent serious illness and heart attack.

MONEY…. is NOT an issue, nor a reason for me not attending Celtic matches at this time….its ILL HEALTH going back over a year or so. I have never been so well off as I am now…Money wise in my Life.

One of those Chump Posters on SC, mentioned how I didnt go to a certain Celtic home game…despite having some ones Season Card in my pocket. A very kind Celtic man from CQN had given me his Season Card to use for a few months.

At that particular time I had not long moved home on 3 occasions at great expense, and being Long Term unemployed due to ILL HEALTH… so I was very grateful for the use of that CQNrs Season Card, as I couldnt afford one of my own at that feckin time.

That particular Chump on SC, implied that I was “wasting” a Ticket/Seat etc….but that was only a ” Half Truth”…as the real TRUTH of the matter was, that right up to an hour or so before Kick Off, I was all set to make my way to that particular game…BUT I had long term trouble with Chronic Pain…and on that particular day, my legs felt worse than usual, as I had ALSO been Drinking heavily for 3/4 days BEFORE Match day and I couldnt face having to walk to and from Celtic Park. Once the crowd in the pub I was in had left to go to that match…I quickly found a much needed seat and was forced to watch the game on TV…THAT non attendance THAT Day was due to ill health…and my heavy drinking for days beforehand…and I was also probably STILL “Half drunk” that particular morning…which was MY Fault.

I dont imagine that I am the first or the last to miss a Celtic game cos of ILL HEALTH…and maybe being still half drunk on match day ?

    GIRFUY !

Thanks for posting the link to The Ran*ers Tax Case.

How difficult is it to talk sense to someone who is delusional?

Also, agree with the posters on here who are suggesting some more bad (hopefully catastrophic) news re thems is imminent.

  4. From @scroedingerfc

@rangerstaxcase Here’s my take on it.

David Murray wants to come back in some financial capacity and the ‘ we wuz robbed’ narrative is designed for him to come back as a hard done hero, a victim of Hunophobia, rather than the architect of his own downfall and that of his club.

  5. From @daviec1978

@rangerstaxcase So they have chosen not to chase a penalty…chosen… financial choice… on a payment thay can never receive anyway. If anyone at Ibrox or BDO has any impact let them litigate against HMRC. See where it gets them.all HMRC have done is CHOOSE not to chase a penalty they cant get

  6. Rangers dan to me = this is a f**king scandal.

Me = why you so upset and why is it a scandal it was the company ffs

  7. Apologises to all on here who are NOT Chumps….

I do KNOW that my Post at 8.29am this morning really belongs on that SC Blog…but I really can NOT bring myself to try and join it….they probably wouldnt let me in anyway…who gives a feck ! LOL

But I do wish to sincerely apologise to Paul and all the other good Guys on here anyway.

    HH

  8. From @takselliksoniii 😂😂😂

Hahahaha Rangers died because HMRC let wee Sean (who was on work experience)tae count Rangers shortfall….. THATS PLENTY

  9. BIG JIMMY

    No apology necessary!

I’ve drawn a line under it and so should you, if you don’t mind me saying.

Now, get well, take care and keep posting!

    HH

  10. I don’t have the energy to talk about the HMRC “mistake”

Just remember, this mentality of Rangers fans that they were put upon is exactly what killed their club.

    It will kill Sevco.

The rtc blog cuts thro the meeja guff like a hot knife thro butter.

Honestly, the meeja in the land of the reformation, they are clueless and write their trash assuming you have no memory and insight into what is goin on.

It matters not a jot ,the meeting that started at 9am on 14th of June 2012,most definitely happened.

Sir David the duplicitous, honed the blade of the sword he fell on by

Seeking out as a business strategy ways to fraud the rest of us by deciding not to pay the correct tax(bit like his da)

As MR BLACK in his tax case he admitted this was done to gain benefit for his club and cheat the rest of Scottish football.Done with a nod, wink and knuckle as his team were also the Scottish football association’s ‘works team’s

I digress from the 9 minute swirl it took for the majority of shareholders to vote in agreement with Dave convicted criminal king

    And end themselves.

    It happened.

No amount of revisionist nonsense excuses the brilliance of their own self harm.lol they own it.

On to today’s noo cheating hun, throwing everything and their Provo cheques to stop Celtic.Their usual crayon skkkrollers in the Meejah have there phasersat full Malky wi their nip, niggle and faux shame with their attacks on Celtic.See thro it Celts, you have the knowledge and the memory:-))

  12. FAO DENA and PHILBOY,

Cheers, and thank you BOTH for your considerate and very kind words.

    HH

    ….

    Can anyone advise ?

I think/ MUST have watched Paddy Creand in the Hoops, but I cant honestly remember…Although i clearly remember being taken to games by my Da and watching Bhoys such as JIm Kennedy, Johnny Divers etc.

Johnny Divers and Wullie O’Neill were the first two Celtic Players that I really latched on to…I think that would be around 1962/63 Season ?

When did Paddy Creand leave Celtic ?

….and I am sure that he was in the Man Utd team that Celtic destroyed at Celtic Park in August 1966…with the score being 4~1 to the Hoops..as I was at that game, and I think Best and Charlton were also playing that day ?

I have no memory of Billy Price..sadly.

Maybe I just missed seeing Paddy Crerand in the Hoops ?

Then again, I think my first Celtic game was against Stirling Albion on a Saturday at Celtic Park and the Celts won 5-2. I can remember be on my Da’s broad shoulders and being carried along the nearby streets after the game, and some folk hanging oot their windows, asking the crowd below…” what was the score” ?

And ME…shouting back up to them…” 5-2 to The Celtic Missus” !

    ……

I was too young to watch “big hookie ( John McPhail ) playing for the Hoops, but around 1990 I had the pleasure of his well informed/great company in a couple of Pubs in Partick…mainly the Smiddy Bar and The Victoria bar.

He and I would have a few drinks together whenever he came from his home in Milngavie.

He ALWAYS would tell me that “The GREATEST” Feeling in the Worls was scoring against rangers…I think he scored around 14/15 goals against them if I remember correctly…I could be wrong ?

some folk thought that John and his brother Billy played in the same Celtic team…but my info is that they just “Missed” each other as one left, the other joined Celtic ?

It must have been the only thing that either of those two “Missed” LOL

Certain I was in it a couple of times.

  26. PHILBHOY on 14TH NOVEMBER 2019 10:00 AM

    ………………..

Yes May 1979…..I was in the jungle that night…and I missed the start of my Night shift at Work, due to the celebrations inside Celtic Park.

on arriving rather late for my Night Shift in the city centre, there was around 3 or 4 hun Managers on duty…and at least one of them took great delight in attempting to give me a warning etc about my lateness…..

UNTIL…I took even more delight in reminding him that I lived in the East End, and that there was a Feckin Bus Strike on that night and as I didnt drive a car…I had been forced to walk to work…the LONG Way to avoid any trouble with the match coming out !

That of course was all a lie, as my Uncle drove me to work after the game. I wasnt going to tell this Hun manager that I was late because I was at the game…and stayed after the final whistle in Celtic park to celebrate !

The Hun Managers couldnt accuse me of being late due to being at the match, as I didnt tell him that I had been there, and he knew that he couldnt bring it up. My instincts told me that He KNEW that I was late and that I was at the game…he was RAGING !

Anyway, during that particular night shift…ALL the Hun Managers on duty that Night were greetin…especially while I whistled the Celtic Song for most of the shift !
