Free weekends just not right

602

There’s something not right about a free weekend in early March; we should still have been in the Cup.  Congratulations are therefore due to the five managers who remain in the competition, who have each shown remarkable abilities and are truly invaluable resources to their respective clubs – worth contract extensions all round.

Congratulations are also due to the 40,000 Aberdeen fans who will pack Celtic Park next weekend for the League Cup Final.  Opponents, Inverness, have shifted only 7,000 of their 20,000 allocation, although I hear there is a brisk trade in tickets this morning, many of which will end up in the hands of Aberdeen supporters.

40,000 Aberdeen fans at a game may be unprecedented, despite the 147,365 attendance at their 1937 Scottish Cup Final against Celtic.  No one was to know demand would be so buoyant from Aberdeen, but now the SPFL do know, they need to ensure the spare circa 13,000 tickets are sold to Aberdeen fans in a controlled manner.

Many thanks to everyone who donated to Mary’s Meals since the MyDonate link went up on Friday.  We are more than halfway there to funding the second school kitchen, at St Joseph’s Primary School in Kasungu, Malawi.  Stunned at the response.  You can get involved here.

Seville, The Celtic Movement, launches this month.

“It might not happen anytime soon but sometime down the line I’d like to think we could get there again. Maybe even go that extra mile and win the Cup. Henrik Larsson was our hero in this outstanding run and we’d probably need to look at finding another Henrik to get us there again! Remember that Celtic recently finished ahead of Benfica in Champions League Group stages and they dropped into the Europa Cup, reached the final and were very unlucky not to win it.”

It truly is. We’ve lived here for the past 28 years and it has been the happiest time of our lives. Thanks for your comments. :-))

  2. Weefra just leaves out a huge trough of coco pops and leaves them to it. The cows add the milk. How hard can this farming malarkey really be? ;-)

  3. Devastated to hear of the death of Bob Crow at only 52. An absolute giant of the movement. The best trade union leader in my lifetime, including Scargill. A huge loss. RIP

Me and a mate were taking a short cut over a farmers field years ago and spotted 2 pints of milk randomly sitting on a stile.

He told me it was a coo’s nest.

Was pissed at the time and think I actually believed him.

According to this morning’s ‘Times’, Ian Black agrees with his manager and is not ’embarrassed’ by Sunday’s result. That should surprise no one as he belongs to a club which is SHAMELESS.After all their previous owner and Chief Executive boasted about their club being ‘debt-free’ when they had just walked away from a debt of over £100 million. They have no shame or values!

Interesting guy. Supported the death penalty for example. Ate in the finest London establishments.

  18. john o’neil-where he dined or went on holiday is his own business, dredged up again now by the tabloids,Sky and the BBC’s opening line was “he led a series of strikes on the London Underground….”.He was a strong leader of his men, something that has been frowned upon by Labour leaders too.He managed to get his members pay rises in difficult times and fought off redundancies and station closures. As i posted a very generous tribute from Boris Johnson.HH

Just dropped in and note that the moral compass of CQN is making an issue of a dead man for having eaten in the finest London establishments, presumably on the basis that as a trade union rep he shouldn’t be doing such things.

Sad day at Bramlea CSC in Toronto as Tom McGougan was buried yesterday. He passed away last week aged 71.

Great man and great Celtic man formerly of Cumbernauld and the Vale.

If it works fine then a new battery would imo be a worthwhile outlay.

I dont know how long a new 1 would last but if looked after then i would expect it to last for years.

I have an inspiron 6000 and a quick wee look on ebay brought up a battery for £17.

Maybe cheep rubbish that wouldn’t last long or it might be fine.

Point is, i don’t think a new battery would cost a fortune.

    Up to you though eh?!
