Game time shortage for Compper

768

While the postponement of today’s Premiership game against Dundee was inevitable, Brendan Rodgers and the players will be far from happy not participating in a game they prepared for.  For the manager, in particular, this of one of the two games he could deploy Marvin Compper before heading to Ibrox a week on Sunday.

Compper signed his Celtic contact in December but it will be March before he wears the hoops for the first time. His experience would be invaluable at Ibrox next week, but on the back of only one game, and that against lower league opposition?

I don’t know the player but without further evidence, I’d stick with Ajer and Simonovic.

Have the club said they are reluctant to call off the game?

    Don’t think so.

Plenty of time yet to call off the game with minimum inconvenience to anyone who was planning to go.

    Breath in…………….

I should have added that even if I’d planned to go in normal conditions, I would not be travelling in bad weather.

    Am a big fearty.

  3. Excathedra44,

canny believe for a minute the game will go ahead on Saturday,

if the predicted cold spell lasts there will still be warnings about travel in place,

the decision to cancel games should be made sooner rather than later to prevent people

    ===========================

More than most I know the devil is in the detail and thank God there are plenty of folk delving into all aspects.

On the bigger picture side though what is going is that Dave King is putting Scottish football and all its pundits and “reporters” (who don’t report) on trial.

The SFA silence on his behaviour which brings the game by his very presence in it into disrepute, has now gone light years past astounding. He is enabled to do so by people of the lie at the SFA supported by member clubs. No principles and no ethics.

This E Tims article on Doncaster

    http://etims.net/?p=12574

tells us we are ill served by lawyers who ignore the principles and ethics that underpin football rules and regulations for commercial concerns and so corrode the integrity and ethos of the game as a sport when they hide behind a clearly flawed LNS Commission.

A Commission from which key information that would have made the LNS Decision impossible to reach, was kept from the SPL by Rangers, possibly with SFA knowledge (something the Compliance Officer will be wrestling with containing.)

This Compliance Officer investigation (over 3000 on the petition at

    https://www.change.org/p/peter-lawell-ceo-celtic-fc-petition-to-seek-information-from-the-sfa?recruiter=846655274&utm_source=share_petition&utm_medium=twitter&utm_campaign=share_twitter_responsive )

is a mechanism for telling the SFA that they are on trial if Celtic deliver it to them when they get it a week after it was launched.

I mean if the SFA establish a whole Judicial Panel Protocol but fail to pursue the matter expeditiously what is the point of having any rules if they are not policed?

That is the question every supporter of every club with enough self respect not to allow themselves to be cheated using club loyalty should be asking before agreeing to renew their ST if there is no conclusion to the Compliance Officer investigation by renewal time

If Scottish football cannot demonstrate to its customers that it is an honest game honestly governed then how can clubs in the SPFL ask their supporters to pay up when the SPFL itself has shown it does not believe honest governance exists when they themselves asked for a review?

You have me confused, wouldn’t be hard mind you, you mentioned Loch Voil, this is what is confusing me, Loch Voil is a fair bit away from Loch Lomond and the road it’s on is a dead end, it’s connected to a smaller Loch called Doine, I lived at the bit where they joined each other, I lived there forty years ago, so you could well be right and am losing it, the nearest village is Balquhidder.

    TET.

You are bang on the button, that’s exactly where it is, past Rob Roy’s grave at Balquhidder. 4 miles up the road from there, passing Danakosha? the Buddhist retreat, then you come to Monachyle Mhor.

    What a place to live.!!!

I honestly canny remember the Buddhist retreat, the one thing that sticks out for me was two thirds up the Loch there was a giant boulder that stood on the Loch side, actually in the Loch, there was a tree growing on the top of it, when I was there we lived on the far side and there wasn’y a road to it, we had to get a boat over.

Aye it was a special place right enough :-)

No the Club have not said anything, that’s the point, not sure who has the final word, however being stuck in house all day there are numerous inquiries on Twitter etc.from London,Ireland,Blackpool etc all asking if on, or off, before they travel.

I’m only 25 miles away so not a problem if I can get out the street.

Add to that if there is a thaw, the park will be very heavy,I don’t want to get binned out the Cup due to weather or its consequence.

  17. **** LAST MAN STANDING 10 ****

    ******** THE LAUNCH ********

[ THANKS TO THE 59 FOLK WHO HAVE ALREADY ENTERED; A BRILLIANT RESPONSE ALREADY. YOU SHOULD ALL RECEIVE A COUPLE OF EMAILS FROM ME WITHIN THE NEXT HALF AN HOUR ]

We are now welcoming entrants for the return of our Last Man Standing competition which starts Friday 9th March 2018.

The competition will follow the same format as before and to win the entire prizepot, all you have to be is the Last (wo)man Standing remaining at the end of the competition.

Not played before? Simply, select a uniquely different team from the list of football fixtures provided by us each week, and if you are the last (wo)man standing, then you win the prize. Remember you can only pick the same team once in any competition, so you need to decide when to play the big guns! Full rules will be emailed to everyone who shows any interest.

The cost to take part is £10 per entry ( you can have more than 1 entry if you wish), and just in case you falter in any weeks 1 to 3, then we even allow you to buy your history back for a further £10. How easy is that? Surely you must win it!

The prizepot is 50% of all entrance and “history buyback” fees, with the remaining 50% being paid over to good causes.

For LMS10, the remaining 50% will be split between our Lisbon nominated benefactor “CQN Helping OUR mate Mick” receiving 80% of the donated proceeds and our Seville nominated benefactor “Just another street dog”, a charitable cause that is run by one of our CQNers and his wife, receiving 20% of the donated proceeds.

You can read about these worthy causes here –

    http://mymatemick.com/

    https://www.facebook.com/Spanishstreetdogs/

So if you want to take part please send an email to cqnpredictor@gmail.com saying ” Count me in” and we will send you emails detailing the rules, how to pay your £10 and, of course, the first week’s fixtures.

Please also feel free to encourage family, friends and work colleagues to join in, as they more that take part, means a bigger prizepot and more monies raised for good causes.

In LMS9, we had 137 entrants which was a record. It would be great to beat this record entry level in LMS10.

ps THANKS TO THE 30+ WHO HAVE ALREADY EMAILED SINCE YESTERDAY’S 4.00PM LAUNCH. A BRILLIANT RESPONSE ALREADY.

  18. AULDHEID

In among the lies, the deflections, the over ups and the cheating lies the truth and those who have sought to bury it have done everything in their power to do so but somehow it keeps wriggling to get out, yesterdays decision is the first time for a while that I thought King might actually get his.

The SFA in my opinion does not have a shred of credibility, it must at some point be held accountable for it’s crimes against the game so must all of those involved.

It’s the only way our game can survive as a going concern.

As I said a few weeks ago that it would be a dirty fight and you more than anyone know that from the frontline.

I was greatly cheered by yesterdays result because if they have to open their books and be transparent there’s surely no way the SFA can continue to sanction this blatant disregard for the rules.

Thank you Auldheid and the few brave men.
