Game time shortage for Compper

768

While the postponement of today’s Premiership game against Dundee was inevitable, Brendan Rodgers and the players will be far from happy not participating in a game they prepared for.  For the manager, in particular, this of one of the two games he could deploy Marvin Compper before heading to Ibrox a week on Sunday.

Compper signed his Celtic contact in December but it will be March before he wears the hoops for the first time. His experience would be invaluable at Ibrox next week, but on the back of only one game, and that against lower league opposition?

I don’t know the player but without further evidence, I’d stick with Ajer and Simonovic.

I am able to second Whitedoghunch, Monachyle Mhor, it’s a fab place, food great and amazing scenery. For the quality of the food its very reasonably priced. The last 4 miles past Loch Voil has some fab views, you actually pass a Buddhist retreat on the right hand side to get to the hotel.

This might sound crazy but if any of you like scones, make sure you order them. I stay 90 mins drive, from the hotel and some days drive out, just to order scones, well maybe for the scenery too. :-)

They aren’t usually listed on the menu (which is changed daily) but they will make them for you there and then, if you ask. They are fab, freshly made, piping hot, served with sides of butter, jam and cream.

Another wee secret, I proposed to my now wife in the grounds of the hotel too.

Not sure that they were rugby fans.

I used to think that Scotland supporters of any sport had a humour about them that was different from the kind of angry support England supporters gave to their various `heroes`. Now, I see the same anger in Scotland supporters. Hun like gloating rather than genuine happiness.

I expect the Scottish Government must be appalled at these neanderthals.

I fully expect some form of OBaR Act to be launched without much thought or planning in the next 48 hours.

Or maybe not, given the snobbish curtain-twitching attitudes that our government has to all things working class and football.

  20. Right bhoys and ghirls, time to look out your CV and apply for the vacant CEO role at SFA.

Looking after the interests of member clubs and affiliated national associations, you will also manage key relationships with government, international governing bodies, key sponsors and of course supporters and the wider football community.

    On the gas subject…

The UK became a gas “net importer” sometime around the year 2000 I believe.

Interestingly, last summer, when French Oil company Total brought their Edradour and Glenlivet wells into the Laggan-Tormore wells which feeds their new Shetland Gas plant, they became the UK’s biggest gas producer – supplying 10% of Britain’s gas.

I know this because it kept me in a job for 2.5 years!

Thanks for your concern, mate. All ok so far, driven over 500 miles since 8pm last night, including this afternoon.

Getting a bit hairy down here now, severe gales and heavy snow until midnight tomorrow. I won’t be taking any chances, plenty of time to get the job done. And I’ve told the other drivers,no heroics and I’ll take the blame for any non-deliveries. I know their routes, and there are some places I wouldn’t deliver to in this weather!

I’ve even cancelled my sesh in the pub tomorrow morning, that’s how bad it is!!!

I’ll be fine, mate, thanks again. It’s you guys up in The Central Belt I feel sorry for, that looks horrendous.

Close to Connswater, the Ravenhill Rd is a bit more “neutral”. Renting 2/3 bed property in that area £600 pcm approx. Transport links all around that area are great as major thoroughfares into town. Might be difficult to get a really good rental unless taking out a year long lease.
