Gerrard throws Morelos under the Lamborghini

386

Just six days after Steven Gerrard pondered if his team had the “bottle” to mount a title challenge, they were unable to overcome Aberdeen at home.  Were it not for Sam Cosgrove having an off day, all three points may have travelled north after the game.

Gerrard’s reaction was typically selfless, “We’re definitely doing something right in terms of the team organisation [trans: I’m good at my job], but I think individuals in it today let us down a bit by giving big chances away [trans: it’s the players fault].

Having absolved himself of all blame, Gerrard went on to throw Morelos under the Lamborghini, “The biggest [chances]were obviously one in the first-half, Alfredo should put Ryan Kent through on goal and the second he should have taken the chance that was presented to him with a fantastic ball by Connor.”

This is not a positive sign.  Good managers are strong enough to open themselves to criticism in order to protect their players.  This guy sounds like he has self-doubts.  Not without reason.

The weekend’s action ended in typical fashion with the champions stretching their lead to seven points, albeit having played a game more than the also-rans.

Credit to Hamilton Accies, who battled with 10-men before collapsing after the 78th minute.  Celtic were uninspiring until that point, but they are champions for a reason.  The game transformed with the arrival from the bench of Jonny Hayes, Ryan Christie and Tom Rogic.  Rogic, in particular, has patiently waited his chance.  I would start him at Fir Park on Wednesday.

  1. i will say again we are going to ipox for a crunch game James Forrest has never contributed anything at Ipox

he cannot start, if he does why do you think that he will do anything when he has never done ,

his 3 performances v them have been disgraceful

  2. he doesnt pick himself, managers do,

i know , thats the years we beat then 5-1, and what was it ?

Calm down. The reason i brought it up was because you were 36 points out, it wasn’t a little error it was a humongous one. I also told you that the same night you made the post, you waited until the huns had dropped 5 points.

Would have been nice if you had given your prediction at the time to see who was closest, too late for that now.

Ive already said it will be a tall order for them to get 94 points but lets wait and see, i want them to lose every game, was an estimation a prediction, you do get that?

Dont buy this they’ve never had a chance nonsense. Every day in training they get a chance an opportunity to show they are better than the competition, the players currently playing.

By not getting a chance that means the player is considered not even good enough to get opportunities. It’s a competition for places, you have to earn the right.

  5. If Michael Stewart has a Lamborghini, he should be checking under it daily 😀.

The Forces of Darkness hate him because he calls out the crap when he hears it and refuses to be shouted down by the laptop loyal and the BBC lap dogs.

  6. My word thank you michael Stewart . Finally the fat controller has been called out . This guy has been the cancer in the media for too long , just a pity it took someone from outside our club to hi-light it . I watched the hearts thems game . In the studio was McCann and Boyd two ex huns . When we play ,there is always a sevco presence always someone to scrutinise every celtic move ,looking for faults . It’s as corrupt as it gets . michael Stewart was outnumbered by sevco supporters during that podcast . Unfortunately Can’t see him keeping his position at that stinking broadcaster much longer . With regards to wee jamsie, Forrest . sydneytim. I totally agree , can’t remember him giving us what we know he is capable of against sevco , he is a great player no doubt .but when he sees those blue jerseys his bottle goes , but unfortunately he is not alone . And finally I must admit to being a bit concerned with our defence , a bit too shaky for my liking

At the moment . That will sound like I’m a doom and gloom BHOY . We have the nine in our grasp . But we have a few tough test to come ,starting on Wednesday ,we need to tighten up at the back till our injured players return . HH

  7. Thank you TO for the link.

    Respect Michael.

    The Truth is the Truth.

Another tough game Wednesday. I think we will do alright. Motherwell are where they are on merit. I’m just glad it is a game on grass.

We should be getting players back from injuries. This could be crucial.

Sevco have overachieved so far IMO. One Day/Game at a Time. Serious History beckons.

  12. Listened to a brilliant discussion today on how Daryl Davis managed to talk round KKK members in the US amongst other things. Always an education listening to this type of stuff. Parallels can be drawn with the Orange Order in Scotland and Northern Ireland.

Folk can change with the right approach and some education to the eleviation of their ignorance. This sort of stuff makes me optimistic.

  14. I don’t know if someone has mentioned this already, but I laughed at the reaction of the two wee Hamilton ball boys behind the net when French Eddie got his second. They cannot but help smile and nod their appreciation – I am assuming their are Hamilton supporters (maybe not any longer – converted to being bhoys by beautiful attacking football).

Post on facebook doing the rounds from the Celtic supporters club in Alicante – can also be accessed via @CelticAlicante – that shows the journalistic licence employed by Sky Sports in captioning Alfredo Morelos recent interview.

Very enlightening and you don’t need to speak fluent Spanish to know they have put their own slant on it… one example…. he doesn’t mention ‘Rangers’ by name at all yet they are mentioned in Skys captions!

  16. Michael Stewart will become a politician and a good one.

His observation about “these people” spreading division with no accountability applies to more than Scottish football but it was good to hear him call out Traynor, a right nasty piece of work.

  18. Ive just listened to Michael Stewarts comments on the Link that was posted, and I applaud and commend MJ fro calling out Jabba.

However, MJ quite rightly asks the question about Morelos and the so called Racist stuff, and “Where is the Evidence” ?

MJ, also comments on who and how certain “stories” reach the newspapers etc, all the while indicating that it is Traynor who plants certain tales etc.

I wouldnt be surprised if Michael Stewart is asked to “Provide Evidence” that it was/is Traynors handiwork, and that Traynor MAY be looking at some form of Legal Action against Michael Stewart and maybe the Broadcaster itself, especially when calling Traynor ” A Dangerous Character” ?

Obviously, I do hope that I am wrong, however I await yet another “Statement” from the Huns defending their employee …Traynor etc.

  20. All the latest media stuff are actually trying to make Morelos

    look like a saint

Anyone could make up a 6 hour video up of his time in Scottish football

only showing his sending offs, his crowd gestures, his dives, his elbows, his raking

down back of defenders legs, his peeking through his hands after fouls

trying to get players sent off.

    The list is endless

I can honestly say that almost every game I have watched Morelos play in he

    could have been sent off

The number of fouls he committed in the League Cup Final alone should have seen him sent

off before half time yet people talk about his missed chances and goals

All this media stuff defending him makes me sick

  21. BBC hasn’t put the podcast up like they normally do. They are terrified of Traynor.

    They will apologize soon enough.

  22. I’m sure Cereté has it’s fair share of poverty but I’ve seen worse places in Glasgow and in the UK. There’s plenty of poverty in this country.

Maybe Sky should take a leaf out of Fredo’s book and instead of pouring billions into paying obscenely overpaid footballers use a fraction of that cash to help feed the UK’s poor.

“Cerete is a town that’s poor, there isn’t much infrastructure or opportunities for most people so most people are working just to afford food, just to afford the basics,” he says.

Morelos now advises young people in Colombia how to improve their lives

“In my home, I didn’t have electricity, we didn’t have air conditioning in a place that averages 40 degrees every day and because of that people choose to go down a different route where there is faster and easier money.

    Aye Fredo!

What an extraordinary offering from Michael Stewart .

Hard hitting , fearless , brave.

All the journalistic cliches you can think of.

Shades of Ralph Brand ” lifts the lid on Ibrox ” , as Stewart addresses the scourge of footballing ” fake news ” emanating from the home of hunnism .

In career terms , perhaps foolish. Hopefully not terminal.

Would be lovely if we were able to support him without his being labelled a fenian. The inevitable consequence of criticising Rangers.

    Having said all of that.

Net , four points ahead. Nine goals ahead .

  24. Scrolling back can any anorak definitively advise our list of goal scorers so far this season,

I quoted figures last night but my knowledgeable fellow anorak Jobo disagreed & I have more confidence in Jobo than I do in myself

I make it we have scored 68 in League, 13 in League Cup, 2 in Scottish Cup & 32 European goals. Total 115 goals of which 4 were OGs so 111 scored by Celtic players, My top 3 were Eddie 22, Ryan Christie 17 & James Forrest 16 big drop to no 4 CalMac with 8.

I was also going to ask how many goals from penalties and who scored them.

I don’t really expect a reply but you never know, there might be some statistician out there who would put all of us to shame. Maybe Celtic by Numbers might know.

  28. It’s a sad, sad day when we have to come together to laud the fact that M. Stewart Esq has had the guts to simply put a reasonable, well articulated perspective on the sleekit chicanery that underpins everything about the huns……….

I’ve kept at this for years and years and years but it’s refreshing to hear the argument put so well and in broadcast terms. Lang May Yer Lum Reek Michael.
