SEAD HAKSABANOVIC is involved in an injury scare after being removed during Montenegro’s 1-0 victory over Bulgaria.

There was no show for the Celtic winger after the interval in his country’s winning start to their Euro 2024 qualifier.

Haksabanovic, who arrived in a bargain £1.7million switch from Rubin Kazan in the summer, is a crucial squad player for the champions and headed off on international duty following a thrilling third and killer goal in the team’s 3-1 success over Hibs at Parkhead a week ago.

The 23-year-old raider looked lively against the Bulgarians, but he was mysteriously withdrawn by boss Miodrag Radulovic at half-time with Vladimir Jovovic coming on in his place.

The manager, now preparing his squad for Monday’s match against Serbia, did not go into specifics when he talked to the press afterwards and simply mentioned “some fatigue and injuries from the match”.

Ange Postecoglou has already had Liel Abada returned to the club after sustaining an injury during training with Israel.

The touchline raider has been warned he could be out for “two or three weeks” by his international advisors.

Celtic return to points-collecting business when they travel to Dingwall to face Ross County a week tomorrow.
