Jim McLean R.I.P managed a fantastic Dundee United team through the eighties……and he didn’t
go to them huns.

The rumour of the Dundee United keeper if true won’t make the difference needed.. We need a game changing game saving point securing keeper…. He’s not that… Might not even be an improvement!!!
Ajeti like Kamila they know they are third and fourth strikers at the club ,of the two Kimala work rate is a lot better Ajeti don’t know I think he will move on in January.

My daughter was two months old in Feb of 1998.
I had just had a promotion at work ,which meant that we considered moving from Fife to somewhere between Dundee and Aberdeen .
My company gave me a week off to go house hunting .
So I packed Mrs TT and wee Miss TT into the car and we set about the task of finding a home .
We lived in the lovely coastal town of Lundin Links in Fife ,and highlighted Broughty Ferry as a town that would be similar in the Tayside area.
We booked a viewing, but on arrival at BF we couldn’t find the property .
It was up a wee lane .
So I parked the car ,left the wife and Bairn in the car as the yin was sleeping .
Set off up the lane to find the property .
When I found it I turned to see my wife walking towards me .
Babe in arms ,and flustered.
I asked what was wrong ?
I had parked my car across an old boy’s driveway ,and he couldn’t get out .
He was going mental ,roaring ,cursing and his head was purple with rage.
As I got closer ,I recognised him.
Jim McClean.
No apology for upsetting my wife and bairn .
Just a torrent of abuse .
I apologised ,but he just kept ranting .
I moved the car ,and he shot off in a rage .
It was only afterwards that I realised I had missed a good opportunity to punch the auld Bassas puss.
I had remained calm because the wife was upset ,thankfully.
I still think he was up their just behind Stein , Shankly ,and Ferguson.
One of the great Scottish football managers.
May he R.I.P.

We would have to take a hit on both ajeti and barkas…. Lose at least two million on each…. I’d take the hit….

I wouldn’t be too quick to write guys off, after only a few games, still a very unsettled squad, formation, tactics, confidence…..

So glad he never took over at Snake Mountain.
Went for an interview with Willie Waddle and was told the “no papes” policy was to be maintained.
Cheers Willie.

BBC Radio 2 aint holding back tonight. Enough to make me like the part in Irish British I’m less fond of.
Watching Match of the day and see Sheffield Utd started with Oli Burke upfront and according to the BBC website he was subbed at half time for Oli McBurnie…
This was just a wee reminder that no matter how bad things may seem there is always some poor bugger worse off than you.
Absolutely atrocious conditions on a plastic park, I’m pleased with today’s result.
The performance once again wasn’t scintillating but we scored 3 conceded 0 and extended our winning run. In addition I’m personally delighted to see us going 2 up front. All season the lone striker has looked isolated and dejected.
We won 9 in a row because a decision was made in Dubai last winter to change the system. Why Lenny hasn’t gone with it this season only he knows. Yes I know Grif hasn’t been fit (don’t get me started on that!!) but usually we’ve had two available strikers but he’s elected to just play one.
Anyways, let’s win on Wednesday and see what happens on Saturday. But please Lenny stick with two up front and that includes at Ibrox at the weekend.
I’m with you there. We’ve (I’ve) been crying out for two strikers up front. Not one plus Christie or Ely!
Eddie has been getting pelters for not performing when he’s been going the job of 2 men.
Some want Ajeti sold when he was was scoring a goal a game at the start of the season when he was getting game time. I wonder if we have set him back a bit – he would have been devoid of confidence after West Ham not working out. Then he signs with us and starts off well. Then we don’t play him… cue confidence dip?
Even if the strikers were only fit enough for the bench I’d have been giving them plenty more game time to get that fitness up.
