Hartson late mea cupla

827

I’m sure Ronny Deila is delighted to have the backing of John Harton, now he doesn’t need it.  John’s attachment to the club is not in doubt, nor should a new manager want unquestioning support from anyone, but some clubs reach a point when they become unmanageable.  Influential voices collaborate with perma-upset media and fans to expose shoots of recovery to a winter frost.

The mea culpa, when it arrives, is often too late.

Save us from the click bait that is suggesting Craig Gordon is a ‘target’ for some or other English club.  Derk Boerrigter is interesting Real Madrid, honest, they’ve been watching him with the Development Squad.

I’ve been waiting for weeks on someone to ask the question: if a club accepts money on the condition that the lender has the right to appoint two directors, in the event the club removes those directors, do you reckon that would be a breach of the terms of the loan?

I’d be extremely worried if a well-intentioned, but nonetheless, baying mob chased away the last independent director of my club.  Many Germans celebrated the Armistice, thinking a conclusion to hostilities had been agreed.  Months later they learned the terms left them bereft of land, defensive capabilities, capital equipment, authority and self-respect.  What seemed like an end to the trauma only set in motion far greater horrors.

Our good friends at Magners have offered two premium seat tickets for tomorrow’s game at Celtic Park.  To win, email me the name of the team we’re playing at celticquicknews@gmail.com

Competition closes at 5pm tonight.  If you would like to help build a school kitchen for 909 hungry kids for Mary’s Meals in Malawi while entering the competition, you can donate £1 here.  Thank you.

what is interesting with the sevco statement is that they say they need to borrow the $5 million from MA “in order to meet its cash requirements for the third week of March”. Almost incredible that a business of its size doesn’t have the money to pay to keep the lights on ….

Oh please, please, please give it a rest with the effin politics.

Couldn’t agree more. Why folks think this fine football blog is a vehicle for their sanctimonious, self absorbed, tedious, boring, boring, boring bovine scatology is beyond me all over again.

We have potentially one of the most exciting Celtic teams in years going for a possible treble so who gives a crap about new/old labour/tories blah blah blah.

Give it a rest guys or do the majority of us a favour and find another blog

Right not been part of this debate but here is the bottom line regarding politics-

If Scottish voters vote Labour and get another Tory Government based on the weight of number so called democracy that exists in the UK then they deserve everything they gets.

They’ve voted Labour for 80 plus years and the poor are still poor even if some of them have moved up the ladder which has now been firmly kicked away or is increasingly being more and more moved away from the wall to get over that hurdle.

When you see Labour politicians trying to steal SNP policies for oil and tuition fees it tells its own story.

When you see Labour party members, Lords (yes Labour Lords) and other prominent figures within the party talking about coalition with the Tories and worse still tactical voting to keep the SNP out you know that the game is up.

  12. Very wet and cold here in Scotland’s capital. I’ve had to take shelter and warm myself up with a couple of pints of Guinness Extra Cold…

  13. On Sunday evening there was some suggestions on CQN that we should invite wee Jay and his family over to CQN 11. I received some emails on this and promised to contact Jay’s dad Martin, through a mutual friend.

This was done and unfortunately Martin said that they have a prior engagement that night.

He’s going to send over a wee message thanking CQNers for the invitation – which came at a very good time as the family are deeply upset at the Twitter moron who posted the offensive post the other night and has now been arrested.

We do have some first team guests for CQN 11 – sweet!

There are around 30 places left for the event – if you want to order some tickets you can do so at http://www.cqnbookstore.com – it is going to be very special.

If you can’t make it along but want to support the event you can buy a virtual ticket – also on http://www.cqnbookstore.com

If you haven’t voted in our Poll on Ronny – and read his report card for the season so far from SFTBs you can check it out here:

    http://www.cqnmagazine.com/?p=3590

Oh I could mention statistics being my seriously lost etc.

But my favourite was all the nonsense about. A fairer society for scotland but not wishing to discuss their very own toryisque bribe in freezing of the council tax (the most regressive of taxation) and failing to increase scottish income tax or indeed company tax.

But look. Why let thse contradictions and clear issues get in the way of good old fashioned patriotic zeal. Pass the blue face paint……..

Say what you like about the BBC, but they are generally well informed in the daily goings on. Their format also invokes some decent discussion, rather than some of the incoherent ramblings of Clyde.

    Good evening.

Bored of all the political point scoring on here and a bit bored tbh of all the Hun speculation too.

Could tomorrow night be an opportunity to drop GMS and Armstrong. As neither will be available for the two cup ties against DU, ST J at home is a relatively low risk game to see if say Liam Henderson and a chastened Stokes can fill what seems to me to be a void without Zig and Zag.

Don’t know if Izzy or Commons will be fit but if not could Wakaso or even Mulgrew get a start or even some game time.

The cup games are now vital and I wouldn’t want to go in to them with an unfamiliar line up.

I know that we coped well during January prior to the new bhoys but they seem to have become such an integral part of the new, pressing dynamic Celtic that we have to carefully consider (much like ones vote) how to keep that positive feeling without them.

    All of course only imho.

Council Tax is actually a progressive tax. The more valuable your house, the higher the tax. Generally, richer people live in more valuable houses. It does not reflect the occupier’s ability to pay. Eg an elderly pensioner living alone in the family house for decades. A rebate scheme can sort that.

You were saying, I think, that the SNPs decision to freeze CT was regressive. I 100% agree.

Income Tax is the fairest, if assessed and collected efficiently.

  30. Ger57 council tax used in the correct way is progressive and can get to the poorest in society quickest. The SNP decision to freeze it was regressive in the extreme. But it was bribe pure and simple.
