I’m sure Ronny Deila is delighted to have the backing of John Harton, now he doesn’t need it. John’s attachment to the club is not in doubt, nor should a new manager want unquestioning support from anyone, but some clubs reach a point when they become unmanageable. Influential voices collaborate with perma-upset media and fans to expose shoots of recovery to a winter frost.
The mea culpa, when it arrives, is often too late.
Save us from the click bait that is suggesting Craig Gordon is a ‘target’ for some or other English club. Derk Boerrigter is interesting Real Madrid, honest, they’ve been watching him with the Development Squad.
I’ve been waiting for weeks on someone to ask the question: if a club accepts money on the condition that the lender has the right to appoint two directors, in the event the club removes those directors, do you reckon that would be a breach of the terms of the loan?
I’d be extremely worried if a well-intentioned, but nonetheless, baying mob chased away the last independent director of my club. Many Germans celebrated the Armistice, thinking a conclusion to hostilities had been agreed. Months later they learned the terms left them bereft of land, defensive capabilities, capital equipment, authority and self-respect. What seemed like an end to the trauma only set in motion far greater horrors.
Our good friends at Magners have offered two premium seat tickets for tomorrow’s game at Celtic Park. To win, email me the name of the team we’re playing at celticquicknews@gmail.com
Competition closes at 5pm tonight. If you would like to help build a school kitchen for 909 hungry kids for Mary’s Meals in Malawi while entering the competition, you can donate £1 here. Thank you.

Celtic could be about to lose out to Feyenoord in the battle to make John Guidetti a permanent signing.
When asked if he would like to go back to the club where he is still idolised, Guidetti is quoted as saying: “Nothing better than that.
“I want to go back to Feyenoord, and perhaps as soon as possible.”
You can go anytime, Feyenoord is probably your level, it certainly doesn’t look like Celtic with recent performances
Kittoch
Agree.
Although I heard a story he’s been carrying an injury and never said.
Could could be why his form has dipped.
Just a story mind.
I don’t care if the quotes about Guidetti are true or not.
He is not worth the money that he wants.
Get rid of him.

I was in favour of tackling Hussain, I agree with you it was an ill thought out fiasco in the end.
I had no idea that the Sunni and Shi’ite would go at each other with such venom, there seems to be no thought of negotiation, Muslim on Muslim slaughter dwarfs anything the west has done, it’s all over the middle east now. It looks like it was only a matter of time before the sectarian genie was allowed out looking at things present day.
Tiny Tim
Thanks for your post last night re the Patriot Game.
Wonderful version.

‘Muslim on Muslim slaughter dwarfs anything the west has done’
Is that for real?
Right folks, no more politics from Bawsman, I apologise for getting roped in when the SNP cadre gang up on anyone who doesn’t like their party……….Is the game on the telly tonight please?
Snake…..
I don’t think he meant “slaughtered dwarfs”!

=================================
Absolutely.
TT,
How much is he wanting?
Like Aflie Noakes and Bawsman, I don’t get how large sections of the Celtic support became rabid New Nats, promoting the party that, for example, targeted the OBFA at us, specifically. It’s an insane form of doublethink. The Old Nats of the SNP i.e. its establishment have never been friends of our club or it’s fans; Billy Wolfe immediatley springs to mind.
Well Celts enjoy the rest of your Fergus Day.
“it was the right thing to do” when it came to paying the bills.
Looking forward to the match tonight,no messing,a professional job to do.
Go to work Celtic and add another page to our ongoing History
Hail Hail one and all

BAWSMAN
I’m reading an article in the current TIME,headlined-The ISIS Trap.
It suggests similar.
So much for military-political analysis re victory. So little for forward planning.
An absolute disaster for so many.
Kewcelt88
Easy enough to answer.
If I continue to vote labour, a tory government is guaranteed.
Voting for independence offers the prospect of a socialist government.
Tiny Tim
Hope the gout gets better mate, was reading last night and the blog read like a drug exchange programme :-).Whatever you take i hope it eases the pain.
:-)

Does not bother me if certain players say whatever about staying at the Celts or not.
Ronny has in place competition for starting positions.
Play and train well and you will get your chance.
If you do not you will have to earn it to get one.
Competition for places is the answer so look for to Scepovic getting a shot hopefully.

It’s interesting that a law specifically targeted at us did, in 2012-13 result in more Rangers fans than Celtic fans being charged
“The analysis included looking at the football affiliations of the accused, from
information recorded by the police. The affiliation of the accused was noted in 258 of
268 case files (96%). The affiliation may have been apparent from the accused
having a match ticket, or from their clothing (i.e. wearing a strip or scarf). Within the
charges noted, 31.7% of the accused were described as having Rangers affiliations,
25.4% Celtic affiliations and 10.4% Hibernian affiliations.”
All here . Not sure if the 13/14 figures are available. I’ll check.
Bawsman
Are you talking about now or all time?
I’d say it is not a competition but to suggest that the west through lack of proper understanding of other parts of the world (not only the middle east) have as much if not more blood on their hands.
The fact that people yourself included could not have foreseen (presumably because you did not know) the sectarian divisions and infighting between various factions is evidence of the level of folly that those who still apologize for it clearly did not and could not consider.
Taking out Saddam Hussein while justifiable in one sense has unleashed more trouble and has created tensions which are still being felt now across the region and beyond.
It was and is a Pandora’s box.
I also simply do not agree with you that the actions by the factions and extremists going on at the moment is worse than the actions of the west over a longer and more sustained period.
AN TEARMANN
If you meet him,tread carefully!
Are you sure you canny make the 17th?
Gwaan gwaan gwaan as Mrs Doyle might say as she poured the tea.
If yer noticeable by yer absence, yer tea’s oot!
My big pal SENGA will be raging, you know…….
It seems that the figures I posted above were released on 1 April 2014, so a few weeks to wait for 2013/14 analysis.

What weapons of mass destruction is that then??
As for the tartan Tory tag, who jumped under the covers with wee ruthie and her gang.
No need to raise tax from the plebs like us, just tax corporations accordingly and there’ll be no need for this neoliberal imposed austerity.
Ps.
God bless the Bunnett.

Im reminded of the words of Jim Mather, when he was an SNP MSP and cabinet minister
“Any notion that an independent Scotland would be a left wing country is delusional nonsense.”
And with all due respect I think he has a better grasp of political reality than you.
WEEMINGER
Indeed. It was all about the evening up process,as pointed out on here frequently.
No-one has suggested that it was aimed at allowing Rangers fans carte-blanche to voice their filth.
Well,apart from Kenny McAskill!
What were the stats previously? Any idea?
Or since?
A bald statement without comparison is a bit of a waste of time, tbh.

I’m not sure if you’re old enough to remeber the previous SNP administration at Holyrood.
They were happy to be kept in power by the Tories.

Perhaps he was indication that they (the SNP) might struggle more as a left wing party in a right wing country, but they’d do their best.
;)
Ernie I was 50 last year.
I actually remember when the labour party were a party for the working man.

I’m not denying that and I’ve never challenged anybody that used the “even things up” claim.
However it’s not correct to state the act was aimed solely at us. 75% of those charged in 2012/13 were not Celtic fans.
An Tearmann,
I left a link to the programme for you on here yesterday.
Árd Macha
BMCUWP,
Yer “Big pal Senga”? I think you’re thinking about the bint with the broken ankle, if she sits on yer knee you’ll know all about it Bud!
Weeminger,
In the first year of ‘evening up’ 83% of religious charges were for derogatory acts towards catholics.
I wonder what the figures were before evening up.
HH
WEEMINGER
What were the previous stats on arrests?
Were 25% of arrests under previous legislation Celtic supporters?
I can make stats say anything I want. And I’m not close to being an expert. At anything.
But I’m pretty good at spotting pish when I see it.
SENGA
She’s a lovely big lass,as fine you know.
And depending on which part of her is sitting on my knee,I reckon she’ll know all about it too!

I respect your point of view mate, I just don’t agree with it.
We can talk numbers till the cows come home but what has happened and is ongoing in Iraq, Iran Syria, Lybia, Africa in the name of Islam does indeed dwarf what the west has done.
I hold my hands up in that I have always believed that after a while people will get round a table and settle their differences. How do you deal with the Jihadi John’s and the Boka Haram’s of the world? Did anyone see this kind of barbarity emerging?………..and more to the point, where is this going?

I assume therefore that you’d forgotten that the nats were quite happy to do a deal with the Tories to keep themselves in power.
###
‘I actually remember when the labour party were a party for the working man.’
And now you imagine that the party of Fergus Ewing, Mike Russel, Jim Mather and the couthy folk of Perth and Kinross and Banff and Buchan is a party for the working man. Aw bless.
Bawsman
Like I said. It is not a competition and I don’t think it is fair to talk numbers.
The groups you mentioned emerged post-Iraq and post war on Terror.
I think there is a connection.

Voting for independence offers the prospect of a socialist government.
_______________________________________________________
The vote for independence was had in September 2014. Only 37% of those eligible to vote got off their arses to support independence. SNP has been in power for 8 years and there is no evidence thus far that they in any way shape or form have a liberal or socialist agenda. Corporation tax cuts are not socialist. OBFA, a single centralised state Police force and named State Guardians for our kids are illiberal and authoritarian.
I will not promote any political party here, but merely want to point out that old farts like me cannot understand why the party of Donaldson and Wolfe carries significant support amongst the fans. All I see is a clever PR excercise by Salmond that masked the genesis and raison d’être of the SNP.
Aye Bobby she is a fine wumin, a veritable tart with a heart. I’m trying to find the Time article about Isis but no joy online, any pointers please?
