Hartson late mea cupla

827

I’m sure Ronny Deila is delighted to have the backing of John Harton, now he doesn’t need it.  John’s attachment to the club is not in doubt, nor should a new manager want unquestioning support from anyone, but some clubs reach a point when they become unmanageable.  Influential voices collaborate with perma-upset media and fans to expose shoots of recovery to a winter frost.

The mea culpa, when it arrives, is often too late.

Save us from the click bait that is suggesting Craig Gordon is a ‘target’ for some or other English club.  Derk Boerrigter is interesting Real Madrid, honest, they’ve been watching him with the Development Squad.

I’ve been waiting for weeks on someone to ask the question: if a club accepts money on the condition that the lender has the right to appoint two directors, in the event the club removes those directors, do you reckon that would be a breach of the terms of the loan?

I’d be extremely worried if a well-intentioned, but nonetheless, baying mob chased away the last independent director of my club.  Many Germans celebrated the Armistice, thinking a conclusion to hostilities had been agreed.  Months later they learned the terms left them bereft of land, defensive capabilities, capital equipment, authority and self-respect.  What seemed like an end to the trauma only set in motion far greater horrors.

Our good friends at Magners have offered two premium seat tickets for tomorrow’s game at Celtic Park.  To win, email me the name of the team we’re playing at celticquicknews@gmail.com

Competition closes at 5pm tonight.  If you would like to help build a school kitchen for 909 hungry kids for Mary’s Meals in Malawi while entering the competition, you can donate £1 here.  Thank you.

“SNP tried to do something about bigotry .. Ok, was a disaster .. That they will soon be reviewing ..”

Nope, they were invited to bring it in for review in light of its obvious failings and every one of them block voted to let it run its course. Every opposition member, even Tories, voted to bring it in for review.

They were never trying to do anything about bigotry. They let Jack McConnell’s initiatives sink. They just wanted tartan paint on their bill. They own it and the shame is theirs.

Getting shooting pains with gout in the big toe on my left foot.

Any recommendations to alleviate the searing pain would be very welcome.

    …………………

I see Jungle Jim has offered illegal non proscribed drugs to alleviate your toe problem. Jim is travelling with me to the game tomorrow and as luck would have it I have a hack saw in my tool box. you can take you pick but I think mine is possibly a better more permanent solution. You’ll be back on the green baize in no time:_)

  3. Kojo,

Ye should always accept an apology, good friend.

Ye know the Big Man is the Judge, and he will go through every little indiscretions, sin and even Big Wans (nah, they are all the same), I’ve said before, he is gonnae have me in front of him for a mighty long Time, going through all my Sins. Time, now there is a ?

Ronny wants a Scottish/Irish Celtic team sprinkled with clever signings from other parts of the World.

Labour liked to keep them working class .. Living in their crime and drug riddled constituencies .. The people have woken up to the fact that they can have hope and aspirations, don’t need to keel over before they reach pension age ..

Desperation, is the only word you can describe murphy’s ridiculous policies .. Which are in fact already devolved .. Can someone tell him it’s a general election coming up .. Oh, that’s right .. The north british branch has to toe the line when it comes to Westminster policies :)

  5. Oh dear Cwtt I think your rather silly argument has been exposed. So labour kept people in poverty did they? And tell me what has the SNP done to alleviate that? Why did they freeze council tax and not raise income tax?

  6. Oh and I meant to say CWTT you said THEIR crime and drug riddled constituencies? Is yours great? Are you a morningside curtain twitcher???????????

Not quite fair. Labour encouraged divide and rule sectarianism. So they did something.

Fair play to Jim Murphy. He wanted to save oldco Rangers.

SNP/Labourr bores are in full flight tonight.

  10. They didn’t do enough beefheart. They didn’t confront the institutional racism in Scotland. Jack McConnell started the debate though. The SNP decided to criminalise catholics.

  11. Geordie I would respect you more if you could point out what exactly you think I a, wrong about.

By a whole 3 pence ?? Ending the rise in council tax won’t help the poorest in society? .. Are you one of these so called socialist’s that would implement higher charges on those who can afford to pay more, not realising the money that would cost to implement would make it unworkable?

How much did the council tax rise annually under the last labour administration. ??

I hope Ronny doesn’t make wholesale changes for tomorrows game. Its important that we field our strongest 11 and take full advantage of our game in hand. A nine point lead would just about make our position unassailable. Our team are extremely fit athletes as are our squad players so we should have more than enough quality to get through the next three weeks without compromising our league position.

    No let up tomorrow please.

If i have a choice, which i do, of voting for SNP and with that i have to take the OB or vote Labour and suffer the corrupt, sex abuse covering up banker loving illegal war starting brit establishment…its a no brainer..i believe that a strong SNP will hasten Independence, ..and then , who knows who will govern SCOTLAND in the future, maybe even see the OB repealed….Laws arnt for ever, they can be changed, can the brit establishment be changed…i dunno, doubt it….

  20. Kojo 23:34,

The whole setup is now geared to bring the Celtic Youngsters, ye have always championed them, through all the way into being, like Tommy Burns wanted, Champions League Celtic players.

Ronny, Johnny and John were obviously very carefully selected to dovetail with the way Celtic were going about their business. The signings of Scottish talent, once again, can’t be under-estimated. That Bhoy Gary, wow, he would play for £300 a week for Celtic, that is so obvious.

  21. A Ceiler Gonof Rust on

Neganon, are you going to CQN 11?

If you are, don’t worry, my creepy acolyte cant make it. He’ll be busy creeping about Cheltenham bothering thoroughbred dobbins.

Using christine graham to poke a stick at the snp is hardly comparable to murphy’s eagerness to kill hundreds of thousands of iraqi civilian’s ..

Guess, desperation is seeping out of every pour of the north brit branch and the daily record.

Something sinister, or vacant, about Christine on this subject – the latter would be kind.

Now, what I would like addressed, is how the Labour defenders can argue that this is a socialist party – in any way, and I’m from a Labour background hewn from the pits, and mightily agin this abboration

I wonder what Ronny would have made of Paddy McCourt. That would have been moneyball right there if Ronny had got Paddy fit.

  26. Gout is a subject that flares up regularly on CQN.

I guess it’s a reflection of the blog demographics.

In other words, we are ageing, wrinkly and have been well looked after by our better halves.

Cure. Apart from the use of a hacksaw, there is none.

Relief. Colchicine brings immediate relief, but be wary of the side effects. Some folk may think relief from the pain is worth the inconvenience of being tied to the bathroom for a day.

Prevention. There are a number of drugs like Allopurinol which if taken religiously will prevent further flare up or at least limit reoccurrences.

Ever wonder why the drug companies can find treatments but not a cure?

    No me neither.

The thing about politics at the moment is that there’s no party that folk recognise as having a majority of policies that fit their perceived view of the world.

I often wonder how folks can just stick with the red green blue or whatever party just because. They don’t actually correlate their views with policy or even take the time to debate what the action of implementing one policy will have on another.

    GG,

    Top tip for gout

    The key is timing…

Preparation: one claw hammer and one bottle of Macallan – 12 year old will do

As the attack ensues, drink half the Mac – take a claw hammer and hack at the leg where the gout is NOT extant… this is an important part of the medical procedure

As the leg starts to bleed and fall apart, drink the second half of the Mac

    Carefully bandage the third leg

Drink the next half of the whisky, and repeat

    Works every time… you’re welcome
