Hearts biggest hurdle is the Celtic jersey

298

69 games undefeated in domestic football, setting a new Scottish record, but eventually, Things Fall Apart and Celtic lost 4-0 at Tynecastle.  It was Brendan Rodgers’ first defeat to a Scottish club, 18 months after taking over as manager.  Celtic were not even bad that day; when Hearts went three ahead shortly after halftime, the comeback was still a real possibility.  We didn’t make the most of our chances and everything they hit flew into the net.  There is always a danger, even against poor teams.

Whatever joy Hearts felt that day was sorely paid for since.  In the 21 subsequent games between the sides, Celtic won on 19 occasions.  The only two exceptions came when Celtic were in the middle of European qualifiers.  As a friend noted yesterday, Hearts players biggest hurdle is seeing the Celtic jersey.  They just cannot cope against imperious champions.

Curiously, elsewhere, people are looking at Celtic’s two visits to Edinburgh within the next eight days and seeing opportunity for themselves, hoping their Hour Come Round at Last.  You and I are well used to hearing at this time of year, the Second Coming is at hand.  Two wins for the good guys will fix that nonsense.

    coupla weeks.

  5. Keevins saying that Brendan has got a challenge from Philip Clement at Sevco ,after they beat Hibs 4/0 yesterday,Beale had a similar win when he was the coach ,whom they all said was the coach to stop Celtics dominance, well he paid the price by getting the sack ,so we will see what transpires, this afternoon should be a tough game ,but hopefully 3 points.

They just never learn. Brendan will send him packing before the end of this season. Just like those before him.

4-1 to the hoops today. 😃🍀🏆⚽️🇮🇪

If anyone is in Liverpool for todays game, get yerself to Fitzgerald’s. Cracking wee Celtic pub.

Every Celtic game is massive, Tynecastle the scene of Brendan Rodger’s first win, and first defeat in his first spell as Celtic manager. Team picks itself, which is a good sign,

    …………………….Hart……………………………….

    Johnston …….CCV………Scales……..Taylor

    ….O’Riley……MacGregor…….Hatate….

    …….Maeda……Kyogo………Palma

Expect and receive nothing from Hampden with its pin up favourites in place when there’s a Donnybrook attempt on Celtic’s dominance, so let’s hope it’s down to football.

This Hearts side have some experience from the conference league to add wind to their sails, and an arrogance in home games that our quality usually bursts, score forecast

Great day for the bike outside. Hope you enjoyed it. I will be watching the game and doing 2 hours on my static bike 🚴. Hopefully the blood pressure can cope with it.

Good to have a settled XI. Great to have one a strong as ours. That said our bench need a bit of game time too. Hopefully the run of games coming up allows that.

Playing through an investable high press will be key today.

All three of our Japanese lads to score today plus Palma and O’Riley !!! But I would take a 1-0,2-1 or 3,2.

  12. G’day BURNLEY78

High press from the minis ? Not so sure, more like

high tackles to the heid, or high jinks from the usual

    suspects in the black.

    Anyhows, we will overcome 🇮🇪

Having a bit of bother logging on to Celtic tv.

    Embdy else ?
