Hearts still to pay supplier

277

The devastating news that Hamilton Accies were scammed out of £750k prompted Hearts to acknowledge their own victimisation on Friday evening: “Heart of Midlothian can confirm it was the subject of an internet fraud earlier this year. The matter is now part of an active police investigation and therefore no further comment will be made.”

What Hearts didn’t say is that the £80k they intended to pay to their supplier “earlier this year” remains outstanding. You can decide if that’s a result of arrogant bloody-mindedness or a financial tightness. I could believe either. The club should accept that whatever crime took place, they still need to pay their supplier.

This type of scam is far from rare, I know several victims and (literally) dozens who have been targeted in this way. Hearts initial reaction – telling no one about it, is the most common, as it averts reputational damage, but the wider interests are better served by making the scam public’ alerting other potential victims of the need for vigilance.

Hamilton Accies do great and expensive work developing young footballers. I hope the club have the wherewithal to continue.

In Gweedore waiting all day for storm to hit, but it appears that this area has got off light, although Leeterkenny Gweedore Road is blocked.

Glad for Inishowen that weather hasn’t been too harsh and hope there is no serious flooding.

You would have enjoyed the weekend with us. It was a special weekend in good company. We brought Johnny into Gola a place he always wanted to visit. As you know, he returns to South Africa to the missions where he has done great work. The church he built is special

  5. Thanks Cathac, The vote closes next Friday, so I’ll wait till Thursday & post a final link then.

In the meantime the Celtic Family have more important issues on their mind, so fingers crossed for the Team & all the Bhoys & Ghirls who are going/gone to Munich.

I don’t see this game as a crucial one from trying to get a result, a very good performance & no injuries will keep this Tim Happy.

While I love qualifying for Champion’s League, I kind of dread these games as well, I’ll feel relieved when it’s over.

Time and time again we see the evidence of collusion mount up and nothing gets done

so very sad for the families to know they will not see justice done .

    Saddened but not surprised

  7. Sitting in Killians Bar in Munchen wi Sipsini, Delaneys Dunky and Friesdorfer and of course, my minder, Mrs Bateen Bhoy.

Have just learned that Delaneys has booked himself and Sipsini into the only ‘dry’ area in Munchen.

A shocking abregation of responsibility by Delaneys and deserving of all scorn and derision possible ;-))))))

  8. Daily Record website tonight has a sort of mini interview with Jorge Cadete.

Cadete’s arrival at Celtic Park from Sporting Lisbon proved complicated with the Portuguese being signed in February 1996 but not having his registration finalised until April.

‘…not having his registration finalised until April.’

Surely, Mr Editor, your journalist meant to say ‘signed in February but had his registration deliberately delayed by the subsequently sacked and disgraced Jim Farry’? I await your correction.

Tell the Bhoys I was asking for them and will see them Wednesday. If DD couldnae find a pub around his hotel then he didn’t try hard enough ;-)

Ps Kennedy’s is worth a visit at Sendlinger Tor but my favourite pub is just along from Killians – The Andechser am Dom. DD can sit outside in the covered Veranda

  10. Calgalus, good to meet you on the bus from Halbeath to Edinburgh airport this morning, and thanks for the coffee. My flight was delayed by 75 mins, missed connection in Frankfurt, and was transferred to a flight to Munich 1 hrs later! Lots of peeved Tim’s running about Frankfurt airport trying to make the transfer flight, to no avail. But we’re here now. Hope you enjoyed your Dunkle bier, I’ve had the odd Weizen this evening, and may have converted Delaney’s Donkey to that fine tipple. We’ll see tomorrow. H H

Thankfully our corner of Donegal was spared the worst of Ophelia.

Had it not been for the rain, it would have been described here as a ” good drying day”.

Talk of a storm due at the weekend, though.
