The issue is I called the second half correctly as it turned out and you treated me like I was an idiot at half time for calling it so, football is about opinions of course and you are entitled to yours…

  3. Brilliant result and a stonking performance. Sure, we rode our luck, but that’s what goalkeepers are for!

Honestly, when was the last time we won an away tie 2-0 in the top European competition, hit the bar twice, and could easily have scored another two?

Neil and the lhads deserve enormous credit, and I cannot believe how grudging some of the comments on here are.

    Top of the Pops…

Forster: Critical saves at critical times. Brilliant.

Commons: A really tricky player to defend against. Superbly taken goal.

Sammi: There is only one. I want a beard like that.

WeeJamesieForrest: Inspired substitution. Stretched the game and pinned them back.

    Cannae wait till next Wednesday!

  4. Whats not to like about that. Will watch the game tonight but couldn’t resist a peak at the score. Great work from the Bhoys. Sounds like we rode our luck at times but we have been on the receiving end of unjust results many times in Europe. The Bhoys can hold their heads high – magnificent

  5. jude2005 is Neil Lennon \o/

I have a Queen Margot as a wife and she’s very tasty too. I have a bottle of the same in my cellar (pantry to you) and will open it one of these anniversaries. Ther is also a very classy wine called Queen Margot too. I got one in France last year but not sure if it is French as I have also seen it in an Italian restaurant. By the way, when addressing females with this name, it is fatal to miss out the ‘T’ :>))

Every last one of them so proud to be a Celt and local fans are just blown away …completely stunned

Brilliant stuff. Finished off the game a different team.

Nights like tonight make it easy to be a Celtic supporter.

    Hail hail

They were all energy and enthusiasm.

They put in a shift and they threw it about a bit.

Just how many times did our players need treatment.

Now compare and contrast with Saturday.

Again, how many times did our players need treatment compared to RC.

  9. A great result and a big thank you to Fraser Foster, a great platform to build on for the rest of the season

  10. Phil hoy; get a grip ! Make sure you have a bottle of Morrisons best £16 a litre and she can add as much lemonade as she wants. Hail hail what a night

Group stages here we come. The draw will be brilliant … Inter, Barce, Real Madrid will all be there, as will Celtic!

    =========================================

The name looks at home in that list.

In fact it shares a home with those names on a very famous trophy.

    Fabulous.

  12. Well, at least that goes a little way towards erasing the humiliation of the Stuttgart Kickers result.

  13. Good to see the Bhoys win again tonight. Not their best performance, but they mostly kept their heads and did enough to justify a great result. We were due one.

Disappointing, but not a surprise, to see the usual posts from the usual ‘supporters’ challenging the manager, coaching and tactics. Of course, if PL, DD and the Board all resigned, we would be a shoo-in to win the CL. Hope you dont mind all these initials!

Isn’t it nice to support a club who try to play football properly and who try to balance the books while paying their dues.

  14. Great result! Now can we gamble and splash a wee bit of cash?

    Forster was excellent.

Sammi played well, good composure and held the ball, generally passed well too. Great cross for first goal and terrific header for the second. I don’t think the pass to Commons was on, Commons was always behind and CH well positioned to intercept.

Commons took his goal well, but didn’t maintain that level.

I thought Kelvin Wilson made a difference – bit of composure when it was needed.

    Rogne acquitted himself well enough.

    James Forest was electric.

Not Charlie’s best night -I’m being kind!

The result masked a relatively poor performance during the first 70 mins. Last 20 mins we looked as though we could add a few more goals.

Great result, but we need more composure and more intelligent use of the ball when the game is still in the balance. Reinforcements in the way of CH and striker still required if we wish to make a fist of the CL group stage, would be good if they included some ‘old head’ experience and game savvy.

The Sevco Rangers progessing in the Ramsden Cup must take a wee bit of a shine off the night though?

  16. mammymabawsburst on

This was a definitive away victory. FF was outstanding. Sammi could have made it 3-0 remember. Why do Celts even feel the need to taint this site with the Sevco franchise this great evening ? Onward and upwards – I hope we draw Chelsea & hump them!

I meant when Utd or Chelsea play crap and nick a result it’s always hailed as the mark of champions by the EPL pundits..

I’ve seen us play a lot better and lose we all have but tonight is a huge result for Neil and you can be sure the team will be getting a rocket for where we went wrong.

We’ve won three European ties this season not playing that well with some re-enforcements and up to speed it could be a decent season..

Dp you have coaching experience at the level you are criticising?

I’m not saying there are not issues to be addressed but I could not in all honesty pass the kind of critical judgement you do unless I was speaking from experience.

I think there is continual improvement in this side under Lennon with performances and resuts to back that opinion.

watching a different game to me obviously. our problem wasnt winning the physical battle, this was probably the weeest team we’ll face all season, it was pace and sharpness that was the problem

  20. 90 mins,to go then, the Champions League,I think we will do that.

There is no doubt,Sammi is the key to our away system, then,if needed Forrest.

We ,IMO,are on the verge of something good, maybe a quick striker and physical centre defender.could take us to the dreams of yesterday.Estadio National.HH

I think Ki was always been marked down for ‘asset management’ and the fee he’s commanded is a credit to him, and I think it’s indicative a real bid is for him not Brown, Kayal or Wanyama.

I just don’t think he’s exceptional and lacks dig and a cutting forward pass, but grudgingly reckon he will do well in the EPL

  23. Great result compared to away games we have gone through in years past. Wee Forrest made the difference on the outballs in the seond half. This should go a long way to up the Bhoys’ confidence going forward. FF was quite outstanding ~ a fine purchase by Lenny!

CL games comin’ up and the ex neebours are doing what???
