Well, that was a cracking game. Hugely disappointing result because I thought we played extremely well.
Poor finishing was our fault.
TWO stonewall penalties denied was outright SFA-ness.

I would stop trying to fit Nchtam into the team at the expense of playing people out of position. Lennon has to decide to drop Brown or keep Nchtam on the bench. It’s a big call but one he has to make. We don’t look as fluid going forward with Christie out wide.

Yep, cracking goal from Christie but was pretty poor overall.
James moved to the left, strange, didn’t work.
Created a good few chances, had a couple of extremely strong claims for a penalty. Ultimately game ends in frustration. We have been here many times before. No need for anyone going over the top. It’s a marathon not a sprint, regardless of how the game went we were not going to win or lose the League today. It is a bit of a sobering result OK but that is football. We move on.

We certainly had more of the ball but lost our shape and our composure – we are going to come up against this type of game- we got the point, it could have been three. We will never get the type of penalties which we claimed – guy crosses the ball and is then hit. Only happens to Izzy at Pittodrie!
As for Hibs, they have adopted ‘sitting down’ which the new diving. I noticed it last season, more and more players just flop down and wave, not as theatrical as the swan dive but gets results.
We now know what we are up against this season – Sevco took six of this mob – no one, including no the dandy Dons are going to die in a ditch against deer hun. We are on our own, every win must be clear cut going in

I didn’t see the game that way, thought but teams were average, far to many fouls not much quality footy played.
Our shooting was shocking.
Not won there in 5 years?……must be the slope!

some strange decisions today , why start with JF on the left wing and RC wide right just to accommodate ON starting , subbing your main striker for another why not play them both when you need a winning goal ,
1-1 seems a fair result as we didnt test their keeper enough.
Bringing hayes on to the left wing followed by the introduction of Sinclair was a very poor decision, Bayo for edourd was equally poor.
Bolingoli was fantastic bombing down the left flank. Callum McGregor seems a yard off the pace
Who was the referee who gave the penalty against us last season at tynecastle ?

The MIBs are going to make it as difficult as possible for us.
Lots of hustle but no quality on the ball in the final third. We looked a bit lost even with all of the ball. I will say it again broony and Ntcham in the same team doesn’t work. Rubbish own goal to lose , nice header from Christy not much else. Night all. Enjoy your weekend. Hail Hail

“1-1 seems a fair result”
We weren’t at our best today but having had two clear pens turned down, no way was 1-1 a fair result.
Today’s result shows what happens when you don’t play well enough to remove the mib from the equation.
Ultimately we were not good enough today. Too many of the big players didn’t show up, Edouard, Forrest and Ntcham offered little. Ntcham did well against Thistle but they are one of the worst teams out there. Today was a step up and he was found wanting again away from home. I do not like him in the no10 role, it does not work. I thought we made poor decisions all over, rash and petulant, giving away needless fouls and making poor decisions on the ball with passing and shooting from silly positions. A lack of quality was evident. Bauer did well today however. Elyounoussi was poor on Wednesday and had imo a poor attitude. We needed an injection of quality from the bench but it was not there. Rogic and Griffiths cannot get fit. Days like today is when you pay the price for that.
Hibs worked very, very hard. For their goals it was a stream of mistakes, a half hearted press, no pressure in midfield and a poor offside line. Ajer could have done more to close the boy down, he tried to shut off the pass inside but you need to deal with the immediate danger. A really poor goal to lose.
During a season there are 114 points available, 19 from 21 so far is no disgrace.
When the ref correctly stopped Play due to Juliens head knock, Celtic were in possession near the half way line.
On the restart Hibs EX Hun Whittaker has the Ball in his hands, with at LEAST TWO Celtic players telling the Ref that Celtic had possession…Cheating, Lying Hun Whittaker appears to tell and GESTURE to the Ref and the Celtic players that He will simply kick the ball back into the Celtic half…or maybe towards Big Fraser , to obviously give possession back to Celtic ?
HE DOESN’T…He drops the ball at his feet, turns and passes it back to the Hibs Goalie, and Hibs keep possession !
Ive little doubt that some Celtic players had some words for him…but why didnt the Ref Yellow card him for ungentlemanly conduct..and then order a “Retake”, and give Celtic back possession ?
As has been said already on here…at LEAST One Stone wall penalty denied.

The rule has changed this season, Hibs were given the ball because the ref thought Hibs still had possession when he blew for the foul, that’s why the Celtic players were annoyed.
As Hibs are given the ball they are supposed to play on, not give it back to the opposition.
I do believe Sevco will not beat the Dons today.

Whether we should have had 2 pens or not, or Ntcham should have been sent off or not, we played for 70 mins after the equaliser and couldn’t fashion a winner. That’s why we dropped the 2 points
Putting Hayes on playing wide left was a strange call. and I thought Bayo could have played alongside Eddie for the last 15 minutes. They packed their 18 yard box defensively and we only created good chances with headers.
Never mind, we were going to drop points sooner or later and I’m sure the bhoys will feel they have something to prove in the semi final. Cluj next.
Some waywardness in front of goal and the referee cost us the two points.
Julienne should have buried a header from a corner.
Bayo did well to create space and then hit a terrible shot well over.
Hayes hit one over when he should have steadied himself.
Even McCoist thought we should have been awarded the penalty claims, and he knows as much about the game as my 2 year old grand son.
Calum isn’t making his usual impact these days. He may have played far too many games in the last year or so.
The new rules dictate that when the ball hits the referee he must stop play. Must being the optimal word. On 73 mins the ball hit Clancy and he did nothing, he is simply a clueless referee.

Even McCoist thought we should have been awarded the penalty claims,
very easy call from ‘thems’ to agree with us AFTER the event and we have dropped 2 points don’t be fooled by their sympathy.
Clancy refused to send Rangers defender Helander off in midweek when he brought down Livi player who was through on goal. In fact, he didn’t award a free kick or issue a booking at all. Now today he denies Celtic two clear cut penalties & they say we are paranoid? Dodgy as f**k

WHAT FOUL ?
Julien wasnt penalised for ANY foul in the Hibs box when he took the head knock, as he went down the ball was cleared into the Celtic half and WE had possession…the Ref then stopped Play ( Correctly), as Julien was STILL on the ground.
The ball somehow found its way into the Hands of Whittaker in the Hibs half, who then GESTURED and also appeared to tell the objecting Celtic players ( and the Ref !), that he planned to drop the ball, and kick it 40/50 yards into the Celtic half…which is where the ball was when the Ref stopped the game, and a Celtic palyer had the ball at his feet, when the Ref signalled for the Celtic medics to come on.
Again, WHAT FOUL are you talking about…There was NO FOUL ?

Replace the word foul with head knock.
There isn’t drop balls anymore the ref is supposed to give the ball back to the team that had possession, he didn’t. Thats wasn’t Hibs fault
