  1. Should have won today – missed some sitters and good goalkeeping by Marciano.

Could have lost, but saved by Lustig.

Dropping too many points for my liking – that’s 10 already in 16 games.

But…the unbeaten domestic run rises to 68.

Hoping for a kind draw in the EL tomorrow.

    Off furra bath!

    HH!!

  2. PENALTY TO EVERTON

    Liverpool 1-0 Everton

    My word!

Wayne Rooney plays a good ball over the top, Dominic Calvert-Lewin feels a push in the back from Dejan Lovren and goes down – given!

That is soft. And Everton have the chance to come away with a point after all!

    Needless challenge from Lovren’

    Liverpool 1-1 Everton

    David Thompson

Former Liverpool midfielder on BBC Radio Merseyside

It was a shove in the back, he didn’t need to make the contact.

Calvert-Lewin was running away from goal, absolutely stupid from Lovren.

  3. FAN-A-TIC

Sorry, I thought you said Ntcham “is going to be a superstar “. If you had followed that with “in my opinion” fair enough.

You also said “ Whittaker ….never mind . It’s all pointless. Just a blog.,,

    Cracking banner today.

better than that, i was out for a walk and saw a dug.

  5. Well have been half watching the Merseyside Derby as I’m trying to calm down from our game,

To the best of my knowledge Liverpool have been pulverizing their neighbors . Saw a stat about 5 or 10 minutes saying Liverpool 15 attempts Everton 1.

Funny thing is the score is now one all.

Football is like that quite often the best team don’t win and are in fact often beaten.

That makes our record of 68 without defeat show just what a remarkable team we have.

Cheers I have got Merseyside Derby both teams to score but granddaughter has put Ben & Holly on the telly :-)

  7. Fans will go after Klopp if they dont win, rightly so for playing a reserve team and subbing Salah

  8. Great game at Easter Rd which Celtic should have won and Hibs could have won but for Mikael Lustig’s defiance in defence.

Band waggon jumpers fill the Celtic internet but BR picks the best men for the job and we started at full strength, and should have scored in the first half which would have brought Hibs out of their defensive shell. Instead we let them off the hook and although the game should have been over we snatched a draw from the jaws of a win, when Hibs found the front foot for the last quarter of the game.

Understandable when you’ve not lost in 68 games that you might not be at your sharpest in defence especially when you’re 2-0 up. One or two, including Callum McGregor were luxurious especially for dig, sometimes we need more than one Scott Brown.

Edouard failed to impressed and didn’t lead the line but instead fell deep trying to get the ball, so it was left to wide man Sinclair to do the damage he did, and although good players can always miss the chances they create if he’d have scored with the final kick he’d still be at Manchester City ( if you get my drift )

Would like to have seen more of Jonny Hayes and not just in a defensive role after Hibs scored as James Forrest will always blow hot and cold, and two poor games in a row from McGregor should see Stuart Armstrong restored to the starting line up verse Accies on Wednesday.

McGinn looks fine in a Hibs shirt but would be booked in every single game in the unlikely event BR thought him good enough for next season, five points with a game in hand clear of our nearest rivals even although they are s88te will content me till my dying days.

    M.O.M Scott Brown

  9. JMCCORMICK

I did say Ntcham was going to be a superstar but never opined at what level though he has the tools and brain to go to the very top.

My opinion on a blog not a statement.

I also said at half time Sinky should take Whittaker(not Whitaker for the pedantic)on as he was a dumpling.

You gave your opinion that he was not.

His second half performance where his direct opponent had six clear chances scoring twice suggested he was a dumpling.

We all are entitled to our viewpoints.

  10. Good result I suppose. I thought the team looked tired and leggy. Hardly surprising considering all the tough game they played recently. For me, the winter break cannot come soon enough.

The worry I have, and it’s going to happen someday, we will lose a domestic game, bound to happen. Just so long as it’s not against”them”. The entire population wants them to beat us, and that includes the Beeb, SFA et al, so we must be on our guard.

Broony was MOM today, Sinky a close second. So pleased for hime, the guy is a confidence player and does not hide.

    Hail Hail

*fully concur and what a penalty fae Rooney, didnae realise he had never scored in a mersey derby.

eff liverpool and their bastarised version of the Fields, we made their Kenny the king we was. Love the toffees singing the ould Belfast Celtic song.

  12. glendalystonsils on

Losing a 2 goal lead is not too clever. We have played an awful lot of football this season and that’s maybe why we seemed to falter after dominating the first 70 minutes.

  13. What is the Stars on

    Very enjoyable game today.

Pity about letting the lead slip. But thats football.

    Great entertainment overall

I have a feeling that the Manchester derby could be a good game today. Think there could be a few goals in it. Think this might be a game for big Zlatan to show his stuff. I like the big crazy bastard

  16. Can’t understand the criticism of team selection – went 2 up should have been 3 maybe more. Certainly there were individual failings but starting line-up put us in a winning position.

    68 and counting

  17. i'vehadtochangemyname on

totally gene – and this is a stadium of a club who have heehaw chance of winning the league

  18. Disappointed to end up with a draw after being two up. As someone said earlier we could have won 5 or 6 -2 but were lucky to keep the unbeaten run going after big beachball heads magnificent stop on the line. We certainly are not playing with the same fluency domestically as last season.

No scapegoats, will support everyone playing in a hooped shirt. Would have had Griff on after OE went off, indeed would have played Griff from the start but Brendan’s the mhan.

68 and not out. What we would have given for that not so long ago particularly when we are a Masonic decision away from a defeat. Two today worth a further look, given that every penalty that we get is forensically dissected. Tackle on Mc Gregors standing leg as he’s about to hit the ball (much like the last one he didn’t get) and pull back on Sinclair (much like the one he did get).

Onwards to Wednesday HH and up the Hoops.

  19. BIG-CUP-WINNERS on 10TH DECEMBER 2017 3:11 PM

    Thanks for your comments.

Certainly no criticism of Boyata who is a good solid no nonsense centre with a gol threat. We are just exposing his deficiencies at the moment by giving him so much of the ball in our build up play..

Brown is the engine room and essential in that role , we don’t have a midfielder who takes it off the central defence and creates.Dare i say a Paul McStay type…

Bitton is the only current member of the squad who could play that effectively in my book.

  20. Painful, that is not an opinion.

At least I can relax and watch some multi millionaire superstars, partially factual, make mistakes and not give a flying feck.

68 games unbeaten, the forces of darkness lined up against us , as ever.

Quite sad that we fail to appreciate the good things around us.

  21. i'vehadtochangemyname on

playing french youth internationals is definitely a political ploy to ensure we recruit more

  22. A full stadium : Both sets of fans take a bow. It takes considerable time, effort, commitment, not to mention cost to attend a game during sub zero temperatures.

Pity about the pointless profanity though. If we had uttered the same words on here the mods would have intervened. Food for thought.?

    HH.

  23. Following the press feeding frenzy on our recent penalty awards there were a couple of interesting incidents today.

Early in the match Callum McGregor through and tackled in the box. “Could’ve been a penalty but he didn’t claim for it” we are told by the commentators.

Secondly, Scott Sinclair bursts through on goal and has Whitaker man handling him all the way as he tries to shoot. He doesn’t go down and doesn’t score. Did the defender do just enough to put him off his stride?

Meanwhile for Hibs Stokes, McGeouch and a few others are dropping like flies anywhere near our box for soft free kicks.

It would appear the recent press focus has had some influence on our players.

  24. No complaints from me.I thought we played very well under intense pressure from a very good Hibs team.Take our chances,of which we had plenty, could have scored 6 quite easily, and we would have won.We did not,and paid the price.Such is football.

The run goes on.Wont miss Wednesdays game.Have to fancy Hibs if they perform the same.In saying that, could be a big “If”.The best thing is Lenny will have them up for it.

1st half I was shaking my head at Sinky.Second half, well,I hope he picks up from this.Same with Lustig.Thought he was poor, but pops up to save the day.

    Broony,once again sensational.

  25. Greenpinata

Agree with the sentiments on the banner but no need to use the F word – could have said ‘think again trump’ or similar

Anyway – family dinner to prepare

  26. Drawing after being 2-0 up always feels like a defeat, particularly when we were in so much control of the game.

I think our team is being held together by Broony at the moment – we desperately need a bit of guile in there (Armstrong provided it last season, seems to have gone AWOL this season). Ntcham did well, but would definitely like to see this area reinforced.

John McGinn? Always plays well against us, but doesn’t look like the kind of player who will take us to the next level.

Defence is pretty bad, and it stems from the keeper I think. His distribution is awful and I increasingly think his defenders don’t trust him. Kieran is trying hard without much inspiration these days, Simonovic still looks off the pace, and Boyatta is a bombscare. Lustig – love him to bits but I think time is catching up with him.

Up front we are fine. Moussa is gradually getting his sharpness back and Leigh and Edouarde give us options. Forrest has been brilliant, but his miss today was amateur stuff.

68 undefeated – during that time we have reached, and won 3 cup finals and come through 2 CL qualifying and Group stage campaigns. We have probably played at least 33% more games than our nearest rivals in that time. Worth remembering.

  27. That feeling when you cancel Sky TV, lovely….

Souness & Henry on £4m a year, Celtic got £1.2 for winning the league.
