Horrible damage inflicted by requisitioners

641

The actions of the Sevco Requisitioners in undermining Newco Rangers made no sense.   They invoked an almighty schism, one which will forevermore deny the emerging club from a potentially rich seam of support.  An act of such potential vandalism would surely not be undertaken unless they had a plan to deliver the necessary votes?

Turns out they didn’t have a plan after all.  Some Oldco Rangers fans put their money on the table but their face didn’t fit.  As a consequence, another group of Oldco Rangers fans overtly and covertly campaigned against them, but refused to put cash on the table.

Say what you like about the Easdales, they paid their money fair and square (and any debts to society, for those who like to go digging in the past).  The embryonic club will develop in their image, it will stand or fall on their judgement.  After coughing up, they endured incredibly manipulative pressures.  They don’t strike me as natural underdogs but on this occasion they were.  They resisted and I’m pleased for them.  If you want to buy a club, walk in the front door with your cash, don’t try to drive the price down by trashing the club and invoking an insurrection.

Paul Murray deserves a special mention in this whole process.  When Charles Green was pulling a deal together to buy the liquidated assets of Rangers, Murray campaigned against him, and all others who were prepared to put money on the table.  As a consequence, Green was up against it from day one.

Instead of addressing Rangers fans as the man who ensured football would continue at Ibrox, Charlie was painted as a pantomime villain.  Without this act of vandalism, he would have been able to sell 30,000 season tickets at full price.  He could also have chased everyone earning over £50k per annum off the premises, ensuring Newco launched profitably, with a strong fan base.

Today, Newco would have money in the bank and be laying the foundations necessary for top flight football.  No ‘legend’ would have been able to hold them to ransom in return for £800k p.a.  Instead, Green, with £5.5m and untold more from his consortium in the game, was put in a horrible situation.  As a consequence, he overpromised and under-delivered.

Having done all this, Murray turned on the Easdales, still without the money to get the job done.  It is utterly unfathomable.

    Couple of questions

Are tickets for Aberdeen cup tie going on sale or is it on the ticket?

Does the new European nights DVD have the jinky red star game? It seems to be the only really big game not available (apart from Paul Wilson and Victor Davidson scoring against kokkola )

You are allowing emotion to cloud your judgement.

It is disappointing that any Celtic fan falls for the same club myth. I guess that’s the power of the media.

Do you believe Charles Green bought the history as well?

This is Pythonesque territory and you are allowing it to annoy you instead of laughing at it.

  5. What is it that really defines ‘Rangers’, it’s the fans. For many of them a huge part of that is the rivalry with Celtic (to put it in polite language).

Here’s the thing. Even if this current incarnation goes completely to the wall. The chances are somebody will spot that there’s a market for a big Glasgow based team. Now they might put their money towards Partick Thistle or they may try and start from scratch.

What will happen then? A group of fans seeking to be rivals of Celtic will trot along and lo and behold we’re back to where we are now. Even if it’s Glasgow City or some other name.

In some respects I think it’s true that ‘Rangers’ will never die.

I doubt they’ll ever consistently challenge us a again though.

As long as the powers still have the referees under their control, they, in whatever disguise, will be back challenging us soon enough.

This is my main gripe with our suits, their lack of action re the referees.

Sort the referees, sort the problem.

At the end of the day, we are paying to prop up a corrupt set up, a game that only favours one club, to the detriment of all others, it that what sport is all about.

I agree, I am with holding all my money till we get a level playing field.

If we don’t get that, so be it, no more from me or the family.

Because she burns for justice and fairness and if we don’t want it for a game of football then lets drop all the pretence that Celtic is more than a club. As that would be to big a lie to be swallowed so lets dilute it as todays article is a testament too. Apart from that I agree with you and we should wait on how all parties. UEFA, The SFA and Celtic act. Stop giving them the money until we are stopped being lied to or manipulated. Paul Murray ? Charles Green ? Don’t give two tuppenies.

As one astute poster asked in the recent past we are sitting on a ton of money . What are we going to do with it ?

I stopped going to Ibrox a long time ago, when the powers in place decided that the home team keep the gate. I will never spend another penny in Scottish football till justice is done.

I could handle their cheating off the park all day long, if we had fair, open and honest referees on the park.

They could break every rule in the book, if we had fairness on the park, we would win time and time again on the park.

Even with their cheating, ebt;s and the like, we still would not be beaten into submission, imagine had they not cheated on the park, how many would we be going for now ?????

Sort the referees, sort the problem.

Remember when they were doing their 9inar, when they were papped oot of europe year in year out, why, cos they had fair and honest referees.

A great leveler is honest refereeing so it is.

I’ve seen many bands live in my time.

Unfortunately, I only managed to see the Clash 3 times in their existence…..nothing compares….still get goosebumps even now thinking back to those heady days.

  18. Think theres a little confusion about dead and alive LTD/PLC companies maybe?

1.In law a ltd/plc is considered a legal entity just like a person.

    2. When that ltd/plc is wound up then it is considered to be dead just as person would be dead.

    3. The ltd/plc that Murray sold to Whyte for a pound is no longer alive in the terms of it being recognised as a legal entity therefore in law it is consider dead

    4. Also in law a dead body is considered to have no value. This is why the IPO was in a different company. Whoever owns the deeds is the winner.

    5. The orc untermenschen may consider any team playing in blue jerseys at the bigot dome to be oldco with an intact history but in law it is not and thats what counts.

    5. All the smoke, mirrors and transferred history is just bullshit and snake oil to try and keep the 80% of orcdom engaged in football.

    6. The SMSM may choose to call them Rangers but there can be no old firm as in law one half of it is dead therefore it must be a new firm.

  19. ET Good shout pal – fed up peeing in the wind with the price of dry cleaning now.
