We have had games which were hugely important to the club, and to our new manager, some which were ‘must win’ games, which were ultimately lost, but tomorrow’s League Cup tie against Hearts is a must win game for different reasons.
A year ago we lost in this competition to one of the worst teams to win at Celtic Park in the last half century, possibly longer, but thus Hearts side are a Premiership team in all but name and come with the weight of their history behind them to fell Scottish football’s last superpower.
I’ve seen Hearts win at Celtic Park before, there is one particular painful memory as they taunted us while drawing, but Ronny and his new recruits should know, this game ranks above all league matches in order of importance.

Let’s hope that he can Carry That Weight.
How many central strikers played in our highest scoring win of the season?
GEORDIEMUNRO
Aye,but how many have played in our many toothless displays before and since?
bankiebhoy1 @ 9:53
A very good post ie I agree wholeheartedly.
Davidopoulos
I hope so too and that is the end of Wordplay for me this morning.
Cheerio for now,

Great song fae the Wee Dugs!
Finding it tough, but like Ronny Deila, I will get there. Given time!
Looking forward to see you in a fortnight.
BMCUW
Geordie`s point is still valid. When done properly, goals will come without the need of having two strikers.
Definite Cheerio for now this time!

Can Celtic fans/CQN not be allowed to post their honest opinions on the football they watch
Why do you need to psychologically categorise every poster in to boxes of negative/positive
Why not just agree/disagree with opinions which are balanced, fair, reasonable, honest, we might not like reading them, but it is a blog Jim
Any manager or player at the top end of football who is adversely affected by opinions on a football blog will never make it
I have conversed with many players/managers over the years the idea they actually listen to supporters on their performances is risible, the retort will be show us your medals, what do you know in most instances
My first experience of managers ignoring supporters was Jock Stein, Jock said he was egotistical enough to believe he could bring success to Celtic, he was correct, not only did he not listen to supporters where team matters were concerned, he ignored the board on team issues and his own family when it came to choosing Celtic, 3-4 mins in Big Jock explains

Hope your injuries are on the mend, im sure that wont desist you from getting back on your bike or getting back to Paradise
Bobby,
Yer away on another tangent.
I’m saying when properly implemented and adhered to, one up top can get you goals.
I think too many are reading jc as saying we will never ever see any 2 of stef, guidetti, Tony or griff on the park at the same time.
was it not that d .utd were a few defenders short, so they tried to
take the game to us . they left spaces which we exploited ,and
jackie did not have a plan b available
HH
is the game tonight included in the Season Book?
Cheers

What is it about john collins that i seem to be missing?…really..what has he done that makes people think he would make a good manager?..if im being honest, with his fake accent and his dyed hair he always struck me as a bit of an a@@@@@@….
I hope and think we will beat the “diets” tonight. I will not be surprised in the least if the draw for the next round made later has us away to Sevco, hot/cold balls at work!!

Ed Miliband speech yesterday, apols to those who dislike politics
He now wants to break up the banking system ? Labour in the last two months defended the banks warning Scotland of dire consequences of the banking system being altered…………………………………
Apparently we also now need to decentralise power away from whitehall………..better apart and away from Westminster and the big banks, after telling us we are all better together
However, for this to be achieved this “means reforming the banks; much bigger reform of the banks”, Mr Miliband said, and it means “breaking up the big banks so we have the competition we need in the banking system”.
“It means getting the power out of Whitehall – we are far to centralised a country.”
Mr Miliband added that we need to “take the power out of Whitehall into to our businesses, towns, and cities so that they can create the jobs the prosperity the wealth that they need”.
Enjoy your day CQN, aff oot as they say
Tlwio,
Nope. 15 buck for st holders.

Fake accent and dyed hair?
Sure that’s not Joan Collins?
Btw,I’m not his biggest fan either and wouldn’t have had him near our club again.
GEORDIEMUNRO
Equally,I suggest that it is not working, and the results and performances back that up.
No offence in my disagreement. I simply do not see the point in playing two wingers-and frequently two overlapping full backs-to feed one striker.
While leaving us short in midfield and pretty damn near naked in defence.
Instead of setting up a club to feed the poor, what about electing a government

Bobby,
It’s hard to argue against the results neebs. I’ll give you that.
Injuries and lack of early signings have seriously hampered us too imo.
Thanks for the replies Ghentlemen.
Hoping to make but work might get in the way.

During the campaign the nats tried to scare and bully people into voting yes by saying that a no vote would mean the destruction of the nhs in Scotland.
Do you still stand by that claim, and when do you think it will come to pass?

With you on that one, wonder what odds the bookies will give on it!
Big Nan…well done and well said m8…till next time..YES…

I would prefer Sevco to get the Sheep at Pittodrie.

Morning all. Beautifully sunny and fierce cold here.
Hope we’re all of the ole sunny disposition today. We are playing tonight. Let’s hope that the result puts us in a sunny disposition tomorrow.
…………with 9 days to go the Yes campaign too the lead in the polls………….
Plop.
This was the master-stroke of the No or better together mob.
Totally contrived. A huge lie designed to galvanize the anti-independence movement- put the newspapers and media into a frenzy of scare stories.
Banks moving south, ASDA (I will never be back there) price increase warning, roaming charges for Scotland etc, etc etc.
Yes was never ahead. However putting them ahead in the polls effectively ended any chance they could have ‘sneaked it’

Punch in to google……. Andy Burnham warns of destruction of NHS…………..lots of reading from the NHS spokesman of the Labour party warnings of NHS
Check online of political parties who will be fighting GE on NHS issue
I’d like to see Henderson slot in beside Brown tonight. I am not sure about Johansen anymore. He seems to have lost a bit of tactical discipline.

There maybe a whole lot of truth in that conspiracy theory, politics is a very dirty business especially when it is of that importance
Another interesting comparison between RD and MON is their attitude to training.
It is clear RD sets great store by a players performance at training whereas MON was all about performances in matches. Agathe and Hartson would never have been picked by RD, Lennon probably wouldn’t either.
Other players show up brilliantly in training but cannot reproduce it on the pitch. Willie Miller often speaks of players who were world beaters during the week but hid on a Saturday. RD needs to be able to spot the difference and has shown no ability to do that so far.
My friends in Celtic,
John Collins should be made aware it is in his best interests for RD to succeed.
HH.
Tictaewin…i agree with that ,i dont think YES were ever in front,in fact im sure that someone on here(dont remember who) predicted that around two weeks before the18th a poll would show YES in front and that would be used to galvanise the unionists….
Livibhoy,
I would rather a fixture against the reincarnation would never happen, sadly though, it’s on the cards soon.
I know plenty of Celtic supporters waiting with bated breath for it, as I know others that will not attend.
After the events in GS on Friday, their hatred knows no bounds and hopefully I’ll be able to talk my kids out of going to any game against them, as I believe it will be worse than ever. HH
Charlie72,
I hear what you are saying but RD isn’t making a decision on great players who aren’t great trainers.
He’s making decisions on average players who aren’t good trainers.
Livibhoy,
I like it :)

Quite.
It would be unfortunate if he though RD’s failure might be to his advantage.
