If you want to know why this clubs is special…

The Celtic Supporters Association Rally in the Kerrydale Suite last night was a complete joy.  On the way out I remarked that the club was in good hands with the Association.  This was their 64th annual rally, over generations they have protected and cultured the unique spirit of our football club.

For me, it was the third opportunity in a week to hear the Thai Tims, who performed an excellent set.  Paul Lennon of the Good Child Foundation is a real inspiration and example to us all.

It was also a great opportunity to spend a few hours with many from the CQN community, always a treat.  I know one CQN’er who is going to think twice before digging up Tom (“get your facts right”) Boyd on the blog again, just in case our former treble winning captain reads it and goes looking for him on a night out.

To continue the spirit of what we are all about, on Saturday 19th May there is a charity dinner in Glasgow for The Andrea Kearney Fund, which supports women who are diagnosed with cancer during pregnancy.  The fund in memory of Andrea, who was diagnosed while expecting her fifth child and died in 2008, aged 41.

It promises to be a great night for an important cause, I hope you can support it.  You can book tickets here.  I look forward to seeing you there.

You can buy a hard copy of the new issue of CQN Magazine via Magcloud here.

  3. I reckon we should sue them to hell and back again, them being any form of the hun, newco or oldco, spl or 3rd division version, the sfa the spl and any individuals like Ogilvie,G Smith,Mclelland,McIntyre and Bain who are it seems to me uber culpable, i also think we should sue the BoS for good measure Feck them all we’re not scared of their bullying and intimidation tactics and i don’t believe our board are either, let’s get stuck right in to them at the appropriate moment. Remember we are 150% right in all this let’s make sure Scottish football gets it’s house in order, otherwise we’ll be cursing 3 years from now as honest mistakes and mibbery make an unwelcome return as we trudge out of CP to the sound of ‘we arra peepul’ ringing in our ears.

We should also sue Minty to the high heavens and humiliate the life out of him and his hollow followers. At the end of all that we’d have a level playing field and a surly hun majority about, but hey ho what’s new ?

I was referring to a statement made by Peter Lawyell after the SPL announced that changes to rules would be voted on, on April 30. So, three or four weeks back. I will try and track it down for you if you like, and I have commented on it on here before, but to me it sounded like a vote of confidence in Rangers FC. Happy to be proved wrong of course.

Rieperman…I think you could stretch the poker analogy out further :)

Maybe Celtic are sitting quietly at the table slow playing a monster hand.

In a previous hand the huns bluff spectacularly backfired which has left them frantically tapping the other players at the table so they can stay in the game.

When the pit boss come over to see what all the commotion is he notices that not only has the hun lost all his chips but the hands they had won before were won using a mixture of jokers and ‘get out of jail free’ cards.

Chip leader Celtic know have proof that the game they have been playing has been a farce and look forward to the next hand which might have a smaller pot but at least everyone has a fair chance of winning it.

However, instead of being consumed by shame and remorse the hun pleads that the poker game needs him, he’s a good customer and the casino’s turnover will fall without him.

This is where we are at now. If only this was Vegas. They would be taking out the back, have their legs broken and told if they ever set foot inside their doors again they’d be sleepin’ with the fishes.

I think this analogy is finished now ;)

    …conspiracy to defraud a PLC…

A mute point mate. I would suggest there was a conspiracy to defraud HMRC. Now this would be very interesting if it were investigated, who knows, the investigation may even have started.

I firmly believe there is a lot more to come who know where or when the trail of corruption will end.

    Keep the Faith!

Further to my earlier post about the gate money that a game against Rangers gives a typical SPL team (example used Kilmarnock) over and above their average gate = £130,000 per season……..

Kilmarnock would only have to lose 260 season ticket holders at £500 a time to cancel out any extra gate money they get from Rangers being in the SPL.

Would the likes of Kilmarnock have at least 260 season ticket holders chucking it in response to NewOrcco being allowed into the SPL? I`d say thats very likely.

I would see absolutely no point posting on injustice, quoting rules that are ignored, getting angry about it and trying to do anything about it.

I would find other pursuits that keep my blood pressure at a more healthy level.

Each to their own mind you.

  12. Auldheid – Of course I will not be happy with an SPL parachute. I want them punished heavily for their ‘crimes’.

I just don’t think it is going to happen. I don’t think Celtic can stop it and I do not believe UEFA will do anything either.

Auldheid – when you said ‘I would expect’ I interpreted this as you think this is what will happen. Apologies if I misinterpreted your comments.

What you ‘expect’ would indeed be a strong punishment but it’s not gonna happen. I will be pleasantly surprised if any sanctions are applied.

    —————————————————-

Interesting in that if something on that scale happened you would be OK with an SPL parachute?

That will happen. Very very much looking forward to it.

Of course would rather have some warmth in the area we travel to.

  15. the glorious balance sheet on

    So my point is:-

    1. Celtic fans boycotting away games next season; OR

    2. 260 fans of each of the 10 other SPL teams not renewing their season tickets in disgust;

will cancel out any extra gate income that the 10 other SPL clubs would expect to get with Rangers in the SPL.

I would say that if a Newco is allowed into the SPL its more than likely that Celtic fans will boycott away games and more than 260 fans per other SPL clubs will stop going to games.

In other words readmitting newco Rangers will put the gang of 10 in a worse position with regards to gate money than if Newco were sent to Division 3.

Walking into the incoming tide here.

The Celtic Board ‘WILL’ stick up for the feelings of the supporters.

Paddy Gallagher will buy a season ticket next season and will give it to any CQN poster when not getting used by this infrequent visitor to Glasgow.

A small donation to the current CQN charity of the time is all that is required.

  19. I will be renewing my season ticket, it does not matter who we are playing or even if they are cheats, I’m still going to be a Celtic supporter,

  27. So Stay Puft is flying over to the States to speak to his prospective new employer. Has anybody seen Bill Miller apart from that photograph next to the tow truck. Apparently he won’t speak to the media in the US about acquiring the huns. As far as I am aware the only people he has spoken to is Stay Puft and the administrators, I could be wrong. Has anybody else seen him on TV? If I was a hun, and I thank the Lord I’m not sir, I would be a bit concerned who this guy was and what he was up to. He hasn’t been anywhere near the UK never mind Ibrokes. This will end in tears, of laughter.
