Inexplicable talk

647

There can be no doubt that Brendan Rodgers has played his cards very publicly this week.  I don’t know the ins-and-outs of it, but it cannot be over losing a player he could not promise a starting position to.  I’m not buying that, there has to be something we are not seeing.

We have a modestly important league game tomorrow and a hugely important Champions League qualifier on Tuesday, so between now and Wednesday, at the earliest, it would be preferable not to allow this week of internally created negativity to drag on into yet another press conference.

We are also trying to convince Dedryck Boyata and Moussa Dembele to sign new contracts.  You and I know that talk getting in the way these objectives is as inexplicable as it is indulgent.

  1. what concerns me is, a comment was made yesterday or today that in 2012 our wage bill was 30ml.

2018 it is now50ml. how sustainable is this without cl money or a larger tv deal.

  2. The PLC board are feart fae ten 10 in a row on

Where’s the Commonwealth games money, went all quiet just as the £49 Sevco, ahem, managed to escape from another rabbit hole.

  3. BOURNE SPICE,

I remember smoking Celtic cigarettes at games in the mid-late 60’s. I think they were an idea by the owner of Greenock Morton.

Some cracking posts I must admit.

There’s a quiz ready if we get a few takers but don’t wanna disrupt the flow of blog

  5. BP1 without a doubt they will try and kick us off the park.

But hopefully we will hump them.

Cheeko is feeling his age now, but hanging in there.

    Hope you are all well

“As regards people accusing Paul67 of being a mouthpiece for the club and spreading Board propaganda then I find that hard to believe because it would ultimately spell the demise of this blog if that were true.”

If this blog thinks it can back PL over BR with a spin campaign it’s got another thing coming.

Hail Hail and hope you’re well brother

  7. DAVID66. 2-0 to the good ghuys. all good here frankie and benny say woof woof to cheeko.hh.

  8. Time for the fans, starting tomorrow to show who we are backing and it aint PL thats for sure…Brendan will continue to be as professional as he possibly can and will lead us to more glory this season of that there is no doubt….starting with smashing they edinburgh huns tomorrow…

Sure the Blog will continue if thats what you are saying but many posters wont. The biggest Celtic blog on the net should be independent and be able to call it as it is.

This blog chooses PL due to friendship or allegiances and this blog splinters big time.

Just the feeling I get. Hope youre well.

  10. Completely random, off at a tangent, but a great live version of one of the best (non-hit-single) Del Amitri songs, “This Side Of The Morning”.

After all, Friday night is music night. Isn’t it?

Celtic’s wage bill leans heavily on bonus payments for winning and european progression. I hope we make group stages of c/l but dont think it would lead to financial difficulties if we drop down to e/l. It would be reflected in less bonus money being paid to all from players and management to the boardroom.

The fact us we have stupid amounts of money in the bank because we have not been spending c/l income.

It does annoy me that we have about 10 players in and around the first team who collect millions (collectively) for nothing.

When people go on about celtic investing in hotel etc… as if its a bad thing i get annoyed cause celtic need to focus on developing as much revenue as possible.

It does not need to be one or another. Less hope we can get a couple of quality additions on board and we can shift a few mone out

I am sorry, but I think you are a troll.

My 7 year old grandson knows more about Celtic than you do. Why do you ask questions that you already know the answer to? Sad.

  13. Like it jobo!

Not exactly a getting back together anthem for BR and PL though, is it?

  15. I posted earlier that back in the early days of CQN, Paul would post a blog then stay on for a while to discuss it. That no longer happens. I wonder if he even takes the time to read what is posted on here each day? And if he does, does the general mood get reported back to PL? Without spin? Is CQN now just a sounding board for the Board.

I have been on here since the first year, often lurking, occasionally posting. Paul’s writing has moved from independent to inhouse. The level of debate has always been high and the reason the blog still exists. The lead article is now just froth, hot air.

When the journalist stops questioning the source, he becomes an extension of the source. Succulent lamb anyone?

    David 66;

Thank you for your kind words.

Before the MAHE chap begins a wee teaser.

Two ex Celtic managers have played against us in separate European games.Who they?

  17. Ron/Mahe.

The number of posts has dropped considerably in the past two years.

There are various reasons for this, Twitter is a major one, where news usually breaks quicker, the blog is dying out, slowly but surely, very few new posters and if you ask the young team about CQN, they say it’s where all the Grandas go to post a lot of rubbish about dogs etc.

Mahe, after Wee BGFC, your probably one of the youngest on here.

Wee BGFC, congratulations on your exam results and all the best for the future.

never seen him play so have no take.If the gaffer wanted him he should have got him though. Im stressed out enough with these pages and life and aint no way Scottish football is getting watched and adding to my woes. Besides if im going to make a millionaire richer by supportting with the team then I insist he actually attends and stands up in the main for those who are fattening his wallet . Call me old fashioned that way even though in blog terms Im just a whippersnapper.

Reno tomorrow and sadly IM not going to see Cyndi Lauper open for Rod. I wonder if shes still hot and has that squeeky voice ?

Hail Hail and hope all is good in Cheshire

    obviously, I was seriously mistaken.
