Inexplicable talk

647

There can be no doubt that Brendan Rodgers has played his cards very publicly this week.  I don’t know the ins-and-outs of it, but it cannot be over losing a player he could not promise a starting position to.  I’m not buying that, there has to be something we are not seeing.

We have a modestly important league game tomorrow and a hugely important Champions League qualifier on Tuesday, so between now and Wednesday, at the earliest, it would be preferable not to allow this week of internally created negativity to drag on into yet another press conference.

We are also trying to convince Dedryck Boyata and Moussa Dembele to sign new contracts.  You and I know that talk getting in the way these objectives is as inexplicable as it is indulgent.

If my memory serves me well in the early days the article had a maximum of 200 posts (i think) before a new article was needed – so P67 had to be active.

As far as numbers of posters Kevj has been replaced by at least 4 new £49 posters

if you remember the video for Girls Just Want to Have Fun … most peopel remember that wrestiling legend Captain Lou Albano played her father… but fewer realized that her suitor (the guy who shows up with flowers) was none other than the next Bob Dylan (after Bruce Springsteen)… Steve Forbert … so, here he is with his biggest (if not his best) single, Romeo’s Tune…

  10. I am a little confused at the moment. Somehow I seem to have fallen into a parallel reality because last Saturday I watched my team absolutely destroy livingstone yet today I’m reading about 8 is beyond us, our team aren’t strong enough to handle Hearts. Faithful through and through my arse.

Is it any wonder Paul67 doesn’t hang around after posting when you see the abuse he takes from some posters. He has had his personal integrity questioned, his blogs are deliberately misrepresented to create strife. He has been accused of being a paid stooge of Peter Lawwell. He has been ridiculed and vilified on a daily basis. On one occasion he was accused of being corrupt and receiving a kickback for defending Celtics, supposed, lack of spending. The perpetrators are lauded as some kind of hero, fearlessly standing up for real Celtic supporters and educating the sheep too unintelligent to see the “truth”.

Paul67 is big enough to defend himself but as I have said before simple manners are alien to too many on this blog nowadays.

  11. Stevie FFin’ G:

“I noticed he went onto the pitch to shake hands with the Maribor players who were leaving the field. You could tell by their faces they appreciated the gesture and were a little bit awestruck.”

    ————

“I love the way he stands in the technical area.”

    ————

“Just before the game started, and when the Maribor players were shaking [Sevco] players hands, I saw him walk up to the Maribor bench and shake the hands of their management and coaching team too.”

    ————

“Noticed that when he went to shake the hands of the Shkupi dugout before the match. They all piled up single file like a bunch of wee girls about to meet Justin Bieber, beaming from ear to ear”

    ————

“SG is a class act…the Maribor players and backroom staff were queuing up to shake his hand!”

    ————

“I think Gerrard is quite intelligent wrt the physiological side of the game. It may have just been a nice gesture from him but you just know that those Maribor players will know that they need to get through 11 commited [Sevco] players and Steven Gerrard in the second leg.”

    ————

    “The tide is turning.

‘And Moses stretched out his hand over the sea; and the LORD caused the sea to go back by a strong east wind all that night, and made the sea dry land, and the waters were divided.’ “

  12. JIMMYNOT and DENIABHOY,

Yes , may be CQN is approaching an end after many years from its early years of refreshing discussion about Celtic matters. Recent years seem to have descended in to criticism of the board, possibly financial ignorance about the economics of running a club as big as Celtic.

  13. Gene,

    Indeed.

I could say that I should have read the question properly, or I could be a real pedantic chunt and say that Scotland is a country in Europe.

    I’m no smartass. Obviously ?

This is all yours if you sign for the Greenock Morton he was told, he’s still waiting for his money. lol

Tontine & Ron Bacardi…Hal Stewart was kinda ahead of his time…I think he was the one who brought the Danes into the game here…

Re the cigarette business, I think he supplied home fag machines. You put your money in, got your smokes and a guy would come around once a week, collect the money and refill the wee wooden dispenser…you can imagine how that ended… lol

    The Huns have won.

Lawwel Hun lover and protector is the only rich villain in this pantomime.

    Brendan won an invincible treble.

    Brendan won a double treble.

Brendan brought full houses and record season book sales.

Brendan made Celtic a fortune past 2 seasons.

Brendan made lawwel hun lover a tidy bonus.

Brendan cannot get £3mill to spend.

    Infighting. Split support.

Re Cash payments. I had a few games as a trialist for Clydebank in late 60’s. Ten shilling note would somehow appear in each of my boots after the game. Thank you Mr Steedmans.
