As had been widely reported, interviews are underway for several positions in the management team. Feedback has been mixed, I understand all candidates did not convince they were required for the job.
While every agent in the game is throwing a name of two at the club, the field of serious candidates has narrowed from where we were a week ago.
My hunch, is that if the bookies favourite was getting the job, he would already be in place.

What a reckon useless piece of evaluation is the interview. You might lear n a wee bit about the articulacy of a manager in an environment of gentle questioning but that won’t replicate a Press Conference with Orange pressmen or even a hostile Car Park (pitchforks optional).
But it tells you nothing of how the man on the other side commands a dressing room, runs a football coaching session, sets out a team or even negotiates with a Board or CEO. You just hear a snow job of how he intends to improve your team. Job goes to the silvers tongue.
And then, there’s the people on the interview side. Are they qualified to evaluate the guy. WHo’s the one on the other side with experience of running a football team, a coaching session with players, a coaching policy launch with coach assistants?
Who’s seen him walking the walk and actually running a team? running a session? Dealing with an unruly player?
I have seen some real inadequates breeze through an interview process. The interview is as useful in evaluating coaching ability as is a horoscope.

I tend to agree, certainly formal interviews are if little use. I don’t think for a second Ange went through an interview. Informal talks certainly but by that stage yku really should have most of your background checks and analysis done.
Asking a man like Rodgers with his record to interview for the job is like asking Gordon Ramsey to inteview as head chef in my local.

Sure enough there are about 8 Assistant Managers listed & Maresca is down the list but only because they are all listed in alphabetical order,
So Borrell is assumed to be No 2 to Pep simply because his name starts with a B.
