And another thing. What do I do now when zonal marking has been replaced with semi zonal, semi man marking? Eh?

“I don’t think we will see another great Celtic player for a long long time. ”

You are quite right. Furthermore, those great players are in the team right now. Just you wait and see 0:-)

  3. Good victory today given the weather though what it did highlight once again was that we have some middies who don’t fancy the “battle”.

Young Tierney had another solid game and McGregor deserves to be there or thereabouts in the upcoming games. Scott Allan should now become more of a regular player, first pick or sub, given the skills he brings to the team.

Stuart Armstrong needs a wee rest as he seems to have lost confidence.

Lustig looks like he’s running at 75% due to long term injury but is an integral part of RD’s team.

Central defenders will continue to improve.

    Well done Celts

  4. JJ…,

They will be sold long before they become anywhere near great Celtic players the days of Celtic legends is over, a price has already been put on young Tierney’s head, £5M.

Give him two years and he’ll be off if he keeps improving, and cash in tims will be happy that we got a good price.

    TET,

With you on that. Ronny is looking ahead.

There is no mileage in considering the petulant feelings of Anthony Stokes.

He is yesterday’s Celtic man, as is Charlie Mulgrew and Kris Commons.

Nothing personal, they are just anachronistic footballers.

Their skills belong to another age. An age when the game was played at a slower pace and quick movement wasn’t a prerequisite.

I don’t expect any of them to feature much in the team, save for an injury or suspension emergency.

The performance of Tanner today was beyond disgraceful. At times, he struggled to conjure up enough venom to spit out.

I bet he missed his fellow viper, Mc.Cann in joining him in his Celtic assassination!

I wonder what his log in name on here is? Guesses?

  6. Jungle Jim

Fair enough but regardless off what the Observer said the Celtic stance on the LW remains indefensible.

The other thing is that Observer hacks like McIlvanney, Rafferty and Glenn Gibbonms always seemed pretty fair with regard to Celtic. Read what McKenna wrote then judge if he’s anti-us.

  7. Anyone know what the “Legia and Celtic pushing for restructuring of European football” headline is about? I don’t want to click on the DR website.

I am confused by the article and others, do we pay pay the LW but don’t sign up to it or do we not pay it. What is true? What do we pay?

  9. Considering the backdrop to this game,Impact of Thursday night,Injuries, unsettled team, weather and the potential of a poor pitch, the result we achieved, irrespective of how,was significant..

I have not seen any of the TV comments, as I was at the game, but I am reliably informed the sniping by the usual suspects was ridiculous. This confirms to me this win was important.

I agree with his match assessment, don’t see the point in Carlton Cole to be honest albeit he is rusty and needs games, however sooner we decide we are not a Pension fund the better.

    Re the useless ref

Hoy often do we get attacked and the wanker walker says the ref takes into account the conditions play a part until a Celtic player slips and deserves a yellow because he committed 2 fecking fouls

Not sure who is a bigger arse Walker or Cullum who at least has eyes in the back of his head

Walker has a dad to be proud of too

Legia and Celtic, along with the likes of Anderlecht, Ajax, PSV, are part of a working group from the European Club Association who want UEFA to change the bias towards the big leagues in qualification to CL/EL group stages by making them play the same amount of qualifiers as everyone else.

These boards are cheats and being part of the renders those on the boards cheats also

Platini and His ilk are cheats and we are on these boards as well as sfa boards so imo we as association are part of the cheating

    Celtic Roller Coaster.

Scots players stay longer because a) they are at home in a great environment and appreciate it.

    b) the English market undervalues them so the temptation to sell is less

So put low demand and no supply together and you get less movement.

It’s a no brainer and a sign that someone at CP is using theirs.

I’ll bet Ronny had a say in the go Scots policy too.

    Makes sense to me.

  14. I am glad I was not alone in sending tanner was even worse than his usual bitter bigoted wee twisted self today.

We have loads doing their damnedest against us but this guy takes it to the lowest level ever.

  15. If scotland had voted for I dependence last year we would be world champions of tennis right now ! In fact we are ! Best achievement by a homegrown scottish team since Lisbon lions.

Telling lies I’ve not said one thing about Celtic the day. Plenty about the manager. So away and boil your head. You just appear outside the big games begging for tickets. You only support Celtic when it suits you.

  17. Interesting comment from Tom Boyd the other night that the 94/95 team had 10 draws in 11 games at one point in the season.

Just having a look back at some of the comments today, one actually says that the Ronny roar should be replaced with the supporters sigh at the end of the away games.

Obviously 6 wins and 1 draw in 8 away matches just doesn’t cut it for some.

I heard Walker praising the ref for taking conditions into account, pathetic, a foul is a foul whether it’s sunny or raining, he is a total clown….. Collum is only interested in Collum, a bit like Walker

I wonder how much of fans views are coloured by Board’s, so far reluctance to get involved in off the field matters.

I would imagine if there is no appeal lodged by Thursday evening, CQN will be in meltdown this time next week.

There will be NO appeal…. Fact

  24. McKenna’s name should not be mentioned in the same breath as Hugh McIlvanney, John Rafferty or Glenn Gibbons. They were proper journalists, who wrote entertainingly, as well as objectively. McKenna too often replaces good objective writing with a rant, imo, and sad to say, he is the type of journalist the Observer too often employs nowadays. It was a paper I used to greatly enjoy. Can’t say that now (although don’t tell my 92 year old Dad, who still passes his copy to me.

I hope that you are right.

However, I have heard fact being described as being a lie and a half.

No one can absolutely rule out an appeal before Thursday evening.

  27. QUONNO on 29TH NOVEMBER 2015 7:35 PM

Possibly. I’m also of the opinion that some are using Ronny as a stick to beat the Board/PL with.

  28. The Huddle

As far as I understand it no full time employee is paid below the LW level but it is at last year’s rate and not uprated yet.

Now whether that aligns with employee contract dates or should be uprated as soon as LW folk say “New rates folks” is unclear

It could for example be left for say three months until a contract uplift date arrives but be back dated three months.

Celtic have not signed up to it because they want to keep the decision to uprate or not in house. Most responsible business want to keep control of their costs.

Now as for “they should be paying it” argument I agree. But who are “they”?

If it costs £2000 a week that is £100k a year. Where is that money to come from?

What internal budget gets reduced to pay? CTV? Stadium maintenance?

Somebody has to pay and at the end of the day it will be the support either in the product or the service.

Rather than cut back a budget why not ask the support if they will meet cost via increase in ST’S? £3 should cover it.

I’d pay that because I think a LW is a principle that is worth meeting and worth putting my money where my mouth is.

I’d have gone that road and set up an internal joint committee to decide each year if the club should keep abreast of the uplift published by the LW folk.

That keeps control of costs, funds the LW cost from the folk who back it and the Board enjoy a quite life.

    Pimps.

I thought he was a great wee poacher a half decent player who made the most of his career…

The old Eastercraigs, where all of us 80s kids wanted to be, the nearest I got was All Saints in Sikeside, played u-21s with Monkland Juveniles back in the day we knocked out Campsie Black Watch in the Scottish cup on their own patch, think 15 of their 15 were assigned to a club, as a wee guy used to red ash & black ash, the Edinburgh leagues were amazing every park a bowling green from Winchburgh to Whitburn, even New Mains had a decent park…..memories

I can…. How could BDO (the only vehicle who could appeal) justify an appeal ? There has been enough laws broken (allegedly) with a liquaditor chasing a red Herron….

I reiterate there will be no appeal….. Fact not fiction !
