The statement released by Duff and Phelps last night revealed the substance to the lobbying that had taken place since the original punishment handed out by the SFA judicial panel:
“The decision by the appellate tribunal to uphold the sanction, namely the suspension of registration of players for one year, is not competent in the view of the club and its legal advisers.
“Such a sanction was not available to the tribunal”.
The suspension of player registrations was not one of the suggested punishments on the menu for the judicial panel but the rules allowed them to vary from guidance and choose whatever punishment they believed appropriate.
The appeal correctly found that the judicial panel were not were not subject to an exhaustive list of possible punishments. Duff and Phelps main hope was that the SFA rules were unclear and poorly constructed, as they were before an overhaul last year.
You don’t need to look too hard for the irony.

evenwith the increase for me and my son who is 14 it costs just £13.60 per game each.
Vogepunter
l posted the samething earlier about Andy Kerr….they know what the truth is.
Jungle Jim
I think the average increase is £30.00
Is this not the first increase in 2 years?
Sometimes you just have to laugh…its incredible just how deranged the average Orc mind set is on some of those Hun sites.
Celticbhoy
Thanks but what I would like to know is how much it was for an adult ticket last year compared to how much it is this year.
JJ
Do you know the problem with all the huns ?
They know times are changing and they just can’t handle it.
Deal with it you bunch of tax dodging cheats.
Surely even that lot wouldn’t be daft enough to go to court on the transfer ban would they? Two independent tribunals have looked at the issues and both felt the punishment to be reasonable and proportionate to their guilt.
What would their argument be? The panels were too independent? The QC and the Law Lord misunderstood it all?
AsonofDan
Thanks. I felt it was in that region but a Rangers fan in the pub said £ 100. I didputed the figure but had no real evidence.

Yes indeed, “What would their argument be?” Anyone?

l still have last years and this years renewal forms at home l could post latter if that helps.
There is a VERY telling aritcle on Sky Sports site, regarding the possability of Gordon Smith being involved in one of the consortiums.
He denies them completely.
But his agent then goes on to say…..
“Gordon Smith loves Glasgow Rangers but is merely a fan now. I wish Glasgow Rangers all the success in the world but as a fan knowing perhaps a little more than most my opinion is trouble lies ahead further.”
GENIUS!
thank you mr Agent Man
Lenny
Considering no-one knew what he done the first time he was there. Also looks like the shredder will be busy again…
Gordon Smith has moved to dismiss the rumours of his possible involvement with the Green consortium and insists he has no plans to return.
“I am in no talks with either of the consortium and will not be returning to Rangers and this has never been discussed or mentioned”
“Yesterday I returned mail that had been left at Murray Park in the name of director Of football which I am no longer,” Smith told skysports.com.
“I entered via the Argyle house entry where cameras had been set up. I kindly asked not to be photographed or filmed.
“I handed the backlogged mail in to the club and left. To my amazement on the news it had been edited to show me leaving and then the new consortium leaving as if we had left together.
“I am in no talks with either of the consortium and will not be returning to Rangers and this has never been discussed or mentioned.”
Afternoon one and all.
Been off line for a few days. Have only heard the headlines doon here, south of tghe border. What has happened today? Has a date been fixed for their demise?? One can but hope.
Just in
So the famous Glasgow ragers are going for another walk on Sunday ,whit they boys like ,they love a walk .
They want to pull their players out of Scotland matches ,may I suggest they get Souness or Wattie in as manager then ,cos if memory serves me right they two were masters at it ,they might still be able to send Barry Robson hame to pull the wool over the MSM eyes .
pull out the Scottish cup ,who’s to say they are going to get through the early rounds (before they meet the BIG teams) for anyone to notice .
Kerr keep spouting yer guff ,I couldn’t Kerr less and am looking forward to seeing the Jimmy Krankie 11 taking on East Stirling in a prop up the bottom Division scrap next season

I’ve tended to be in the paranoid hysterical adolescent ghirl camp and assumed the most likely outcome for RIA is the best possible one for them – I am conditioned by experience.
But I wonder if reality is that everyone is utterly sick of them – the SFA, SPL, the Government, the police, UEFA, the law establishment, the Banks, all the other Scottish teams, their own players, Duff & Phelps even. I mean – that’s rational isn’t it – they’ve tried to dick everyone without a hint of contrition – indeed with lashings of malice in their dealings with all – who HASN’T been threatened?
It seemed like during the Miller then Green shenanigans it was “sell to anyone but Rangers people”. This is encouraging.
Rather like Murder On The Orient Express, I wonder if the scene is being manipulated so that once the dastardly villain is slain, it will be impossible to deduce who thrust the telling blow.
It is either that or no one has a clue what they are doing.

These statistics for Religiously Aggravated crimes do not tell the whole story – by a long way- if our experience in Stirling is anything to go by. Our Catholic church in recent years has been subject to serial vandalism. This has included – the breaking of the figure of Jesus on a large crucifix at the front of the church;the stealing of a statue of Our Lady; the breaking of windows; the painting ot the main doors. When reporting these to the police. our Parish Priest was told that there was not enough evidence to consider these as anti-sectarian crimes. That’s a good way to control the statistics!

Afternoon bhoys.
Talk of THG coming back if FF stays with Newcastle.
I’d prefer to get FF because of his age/height but would be nice to have him back.
Bid gone in for Rhodes but I can’t see us getting him. Would love to be proved wrong.
Anyone got any other news?
—-
Heard he was EPL bound mate. Fulham being one of the teams mentioned.
Would be £5M stating price and if there are a few clubs in there (which I’m sure there is) then we’re feck’d.
Would think we’ll go for a Daly/Russell priced player unless we sell one of the prize assets (my guess would be Ki).

Breakings news, courtesy of Newsbiscuit:-
Glasgow Rangers have successfully come out of administration today having been bought by a Middle Eastern oil company.
The new owners plan to tap into Glasgow’s under-exploited Muslim community and are planning a radical shake-up of the club. This includes realigning Ibrox Stadium so that the Govan Stand faces Mecca, minarets to be placed on all floodlight towers and the Rangers manager’s name to be changed to Ali McCoist.
Fans will also notice new initiatives including the replacing of Directors and fans singing of ‘The Sash’ with a new Rangers-themed call to prayers, whilst in the club souvenir shop they will be stocking new royal blue hijabs as well as burkas featuring ‘Bocanegra 18’.
A spokesman at bitter rivals Celtic said ‘of course we are delighted that the old firm games will continue on into the future and we think the new owners will help defuse historic sectarian tensions. Now we just need to find out if they are Catholic Muslims or Protestant Muslims’.

Thanks again but it`s OK. I am sure the £ 100 was wrong. I was just curious but thanks again anyway. Top Mhan !

Let me paint a scenario for you..
I’m a RCiA player, let’s say Alan McGregor.
I’ve been paid 25% of my wages since March. I know I’m worth £5m but I can get out for £2m.
There’s a big international game providing. ‘shop window’. I’m a dead cert to play.
Given I’m worth £5m but can get out for £2m my agent is punting me about for £2m plus a £1 m signing on fee. Ima bargain but this win- win.
Hun fans want me to knock back Scotland and fight for a lost cause..
I think I’m telling them to GTF?
This Andy Kerr is a real find. He’s playing a blinder.
Looks like Keith Jacksie and Davie Legless have a rival for this year’s Perrier Award.
I think Kerr will come into his own when he learns to tie his laces though.
Just read this on the Celtic website, and although perfectly true did make me giggle :)
*Applies to Under-13 Opt-out and Under-13 Special Season Tickets which exclude games against Rangers FC (or a successor to it).

“I remember before wee Fergus saved Celtic in 1994, all the Rangers supporters practically doing an Irish jig at the thought of Celtic going bust.
Daily Mail sending a hearse to Celtic park, there was nothing in the press then saying that if Celtic died it’s bad for Scottish football, they wanted us dead, pure and simple.
So to all the Murray loving #rse licking hoors in the media who have followed the Rangers bias agenda go #&#& yourself and excuse me if I have a grin the size of the Clyde today, you reap what you sow, karma is truly a bitch………. :o)”

DALGLISH LINED UP TO JOIN GREEN GANG BID FOR RANGERS-Exclusive
KENNY DALGLISH is being lined up as part of the Charles Green fronted Green Gang who want to take control of Rangers.
I revealed yesterday there is now a growing belief that that there are no MEN OF MYSTERY from Europe, Singapore, India, Kuwait, Abu Dhabi or Saudi Arabia hiding in the shadows and ready to lend their financial muscle to the unexplained and perhaps even inexplicable Green Gang offer for the Ibrox club
And that it seemed more like the bid was being fronted by Charles Green on behalf of his boss, Manchester based Michael McDonald and the controversial banned by the FA, Paul Stretford.
I also made it clear that I believed another man was in the frame to join the Green Gang, hinting at his identity by saying he is a Scot with a high profile in football who could not be named because he was still in a job.
He’s not now, though.
So today I can reveal that the man I firmly believe will join the Green Gang to try and snare Rangers is former Celtic star, former Celtic manager and former Celtic director of football, Kenny Dalglish.
Dalglish was of course sacked by Liverpool yesterday after his second stint as boss lasted a mere 16 months and saw the Anfield club endure their worst season for decades.
The links Dalglish has with Charles Green and with Paul Stretford are there for all to see.
Stretford set up and ran the Proactive Agency. Charles Green also worked for Proactive. And Kenny Dalglish owned TWO MILLION shares in Proactive.
On top of that, Green gabbed that he would soon show how serious he was and how much expertise he had at his command by unveiling a top football name, a Scot, as being Ibrox-bound if the Green Gang’s bid for Rangers is successful.
At first it was thought by some that it Graeme Souness was who Green was talking about. I never bought into that. And now Souness has come out in clear and unambiguous terms, saying no, he has not been involved with the Green Gang and no, he would not become involved with the Green Gang.
Which means the trail now leads to Kenny Dalglish, whose job as Liverpool manager was hanging by a thread when Green spoke last Sunday. On Wednesday, that thread snapped.
Michael McDonald is the main man in all of this. Charles Green is merely the front man. The mouthpiece. But it is the feared Michael McDonald who barks the orders and calls the shots.
And he has said that Stretford, once banned from being an agent for 18 months and fined £300,000 by the FA, will move in at Ibrox to assume full responsibility for buying and selling players. That means a seat on the board with unsupervised access to the Ibrox cheque book.
Even with a year-long ban on them buying players remaining in force, Rangers can still sell players and any experienced agent can make a killing. Stretford is extremely experienced in making backdoor deals.
It is unlikely the Green Gang will be waiting for any financial investment in Rangers from Kenny Dalglish. The more likely role for the former director of football at Celtic, would be for him to move in to the same highly paid job at Ibrox.
Michael McDonald will no doubt install himself as executive chairman, again at a hefty salary, with Charles Green in overall day to day control of all Rangers operations as chief executive. Again, with a mind boggling salary.
That is the Green Gang. These are the men who want to take control of Rangers. I believe Kenny Dalglish will eventually be to be one of them. These are the men Scottish Football Association chief executive, Stewart Reagan, must investigate.
Dalglish, of course, is an open book. Charles Green and Michael McDonald were chief executive and chairman respectively of Sheffield United, therefore the FA in London may be able to assist the Hampden hierarchy.
While a perusal of the court records from the blackmail trail at Warrington Crown Court which collapsed when Paul Stretford was judged to have given evidence which misled the court, plus the FA’s judgment on the controversial ducker and diver, can assist Regan and the SFA to make their minds up about Stretford.
All of the facts, about all of the people, can also assist Rangers supporters make up their minds if these are the sort of men they want to take control of their club.
Just as those who work for Rangers will get their opportunity to assess Green when he addresses all of the club’s staff today.
Some may even be moved to ask him if Kenny Dalglish is set to become a member of the Green Gang which wants to snare Rangers.

AND……
LLOYDS BANK hold their Annual General Shareholders meeting in the Edinburgh Exhibition Centre today.
And I understand there could be fireworks over the role they played in the sale of Rangers by David Murray to banned company director, conman and trickster, Craig Whyte.
Questions will be asked of the Lloyds board of directors by concerned Lloyds shareholders, who are also Rangers supporters.
Hacks should keep an eye on it. And anyone who wants a wee insight into which shareholders will be grilling the Lloyds Board should give me a call.

No.
Charles(to Ally)Mr Green (to the rest ff you) has decided to meet directly with SFA/SPL in an attempt to get them to ignore the transfer embargo and allow ranjurz(IA) to sign Gattuso, Grant Holt, and Goodwillie.
He’s going to show them a bank statement with ‘pure millions’ in it and he’s also heard of this Ticketus mob who’ll buy advance season tickets.
If that doesn’t work he’s going to screem& screem & screem!
RTCs guess at Rankers options :)))
Where does this leave RFC (IA)? Here is what I see as the potential outcomes in no particular order…
Option 1 – Sell assets, namely players raising cash for a CVA pot. Ticketus and HMRC will have to agree.. Right now, either of them could block a CVA on the 75% Creditors rule. Ticketus has about a £26M claim as an unsecured creditor. HMRC has about a £42 claim. (25M +9M PAYE +4M VAT on Ticketus deal, and 4M “wee tax case”). As the judgement from the ‘big tax case’ is not in yet, I’ll leave that out. I still see HMRC and Ticketus having to agree to any CVA and the only way they will agree is for a fire sale of all Rangers assets to raise the value of the CVA pot.
Rangers stay in the SPL, and with the transfer embargo in place, have to field a team of youngsters for a season.
Option 2: Rangers sell Ibrox and all the other fixed assets to keep the players. I know this is an unlikely outcome. While Ally’s rallying cry “we don’t do walking away” made for rallying the troops, when a players livelihood is on the line, it will be hard pressed not to walk away to the bank to collect a pay check from a club on much stronger foundations. Without any working capital and no legal right to buy players, the only way RFC can stay competitive is to sell their fixed assets – Ibrox, Murray Park, and the two car parks. Take the proceeds from the asset sale and stick it in the CVA pot. Hope all the unsecured creditors agree.
Rent Ibrox back from its new owners. Or play in Hampden and rent it from the SFA. Ouch. That would be a sore one. All the big name players go, with the exception of people like Lee McCulloch and one or two of the rising stars like Andy Little. This gives the club some working capital. They can’t rely on Ticket sales to raise funds anymore because of the Ticketus deal and the season ticket deals.
Option 3: The big tax case comes back against Rangers and holds up the levy already placed on Rangers. HMRC moves for liquidation. All hell breaks loose and all the assets are sold off – players and fixed and creditors repaid pennies on the pound. Rangers are killed off by two decades of financial mismanagement. The blame lies at Sir David Murray’s door as much as it is Craig Whyte’s.
Option 4: This is the ‘NewCo’ option and would involve literally start all over again by applying to get back into the SFA. Sell all players and sell all fixed assets. A possibility would be to rent Ibrox and Murray Park back from its new owners. The transfer embargo has ensured those 40 players on RFC rosters have a place to play. It just means that they can’t buy anyone for 12 months over the age of 18.
The competence of the panel and the reasoning behind the decision has now been explained. Let’s say we see, either an oldco RFC in the SPL next season, or a “NewCo” RFC next year.
Under the ‘oldco’ outcome, we will see a club with no stadium, no players, under an effective transfer embargo, and either playing at Ibrox rented from its new owners or Hampden, if Ibrox is sold off to developers. It will likely have been punished a further points reduction for still being in administration. It will likely be a shell club, well shy of its former glory. It will be Rangers though, and that will be what a lot of the fans will want to see.
Under the ‘newco’ option, it will not be Rangers and that will be a sore pill to take for a lot of supporters.
All of this gets settled and then the double contract announcement comes home to roost. The former RFC as a “newco” can’t be punished anymore, because it is, well new. The “oldco” can be. I think it will be appropriate and likely that the football community start to think of the totality of Craig Whyte’s actions as misdemeanours. If the double contract judgement comes back against Rangers, it will likely be referred to as a series of felonies – systematic long-term cheating and we will have to have a serious of conversations about how to deal with this? Do we invalidate all of the results over a year when EBTs and double contracts were in use? If that’s the case, I think we need to look at how much money clubs lost out on after amendin all of the tainted results. Should compensatory damages be paid to all of those clubs that lost out on a second, 3rd or 4th place finish? How much did clubs lose out on from not being able to play in Europe? What would be the difference in the amount each club would have received from the Commercial Fund? What would attendance have been if the playing field had been levelled? There will be a lot of questions to be answered. However, you and I will get there together.
