Neil Lennon’s suggestion that fostering Fraser Forster from a lower-league loaner to an England international is “one of the best things [he’s] been involved with as a manager” is difficult to dispute, despite his various trophies and Champions League exploits.
Owen Hargreaves earned an England cap before he made an appearance in either of England’s top two divisions, although he was playing with European champions, Bayern Munich at the time. Hargreaves and Lanarkshire’s Joe Baker are the only two to have been capped for England without playing in any of the country’s four leagues. I’ve no idea if there are any others to have earned a cap without having played in the top two division but there must be precious few.
In short, Fraser’s appearance between the sticks on Friday was exceptional. We can now help fulfil the international ambitions of English players, just as long as we continue to compete in the Champions League.
Playing to the galleries
There’s a great line in the movie, Wall St, when Martin Sheen says, “If you live long enough you get to see everything”. Today we got to see the incredible sight of Craig Whyte’s former PR, who represented him before and during his Outstanding Contribution to Scotland, who in fact, represented him well before this, when Whyte was stalking STV as they teetered on the brink of oblivion, use Twitter to turn on another member of the Whyte coterie, for being a part of the Whyte coterie.
It reads like playing to the gallery, which the Daily Record, is a particularly useful punch bag for. No one cares what you say about the Daily Record, so exploit a common enemy and pile on. Tub thumping like this is embarrassing.
Puppet master
It will be interesting to see if the Record investigate who first suggested Whyte turned his attention to Rangers, after his STV ambitions ended….

Huh!
I came out of lurkdom earlier tae blaw about my CQN album which arrived today and what happened………………..?
I got quarantined by moderators, that;s what!
Oh, the shame of it!
Evening all,
I have just read this article http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/24958189, it makes depressing reading for me. The amount of money that floats around top level football, and that’s before the BT money arrives, is rediculous and immoral.
I have long prayed for the day Celtic join a league with the big boys, now I’m not so sure.
I have read with interest and pride over the past few months a few bhoys deciding to put forward motions at the recent AGM. Regardless of the outcome the very fact that supporters can still have some sort of say in how our club is run should be cherished and fought for. I very much doubt if we join the ” big boys” this will be allowed as the money involved would be so vast powerfull people would take sole control.
I don’t think football has enough money for me to allow Celtic to lose its soul.
HailHail
Goodnight all….great day on the old blog today ….braw…
Article in the Irish Indo today talking about Celtic interest in Forde as keeper if Fraser goes. He is 33 and out of contract at Millwall at season end. Playing well for Ireland recently.
Have the “same club” had any punishment after the charge of Secterian singing v Kilmarnock in May 2011?…..thought not…
Edinburgh lost another son today in the shape of punk musician mikie Jacobs rip
Got my big book today…..christmas come early…found my name and i,m chuffed to bits…a big thanks to those who put all this together, HH guys.

Charlotte says the new SPFL is going after the new The Rangers Football Club for the fines imposed by Lord Nimmo Smith on the old huns.
If accurate, the decision came at a meeting of the SPFL board on October 28, 2013.
Very interesting.

Is this the start of another list?
I winder if Walter and his mates wish they had taken option 2 when the Banks man on the board put it to them. It made them sick to think that Rangers could possibly slip from their perch. I wonder if they now think they should have just paid the taxes they owed and not gone through witnessing their carcass twisting in the wind – everyone and anyone passing by with an insult or some throw away comment.
Thing is, I don’t think the forthcoming administration of the fledgling phoenix is in any way unplanned. I think it is planned and the SFA knew when they agreed membership for whatever it is back in August 2012. Yes the spivs are taking some payment while they push the stuffed animal up the leagues but they will deliver a Rangers to someone in the top league by August 2015.
If I was a part of that meeting with Muir from the bank those few years ago I would feel utterly crestfallen now. Imagine not having executed an option to pay your taxes. Worst case scenario would have been relegation. The SFA and the league would have bent over backwards to restructure at that point.
Now we have the spectre of toxic tax avoidance hanging over them. Still hanging like the stench from their rotting corporate carcass. Mind you we have had the Lord Nimmo debacle, the non transfer embargo etc and the FTT. Who knows, even with the Aberdeen Asset management case going the way of HMRC there could still be a slight of hand to save them one more time.
It strikes me that the only way they will ever learn is to consign them to yet more years of pain and strife.

Can you imagine them paying £400k?
Celtic First 20.45
This could be bad news.
By doing so , the Authorities are saying that you are the same club.
The Zombies pay the paltry fines and have credence as the same club.
This course of action is well planned out to give them continuity.
I have been waiting on this happening for quite some time.

Sorry for the tardy reply.
I sent you a reply, but that was when CQN went down, I tried to send the message five times.
Roughly, I said that we have three tables, there’s 24 seats away I’m holding on to a couple for a good friend if he gets back to me.and there are others that will go. It should be a good night, they usually are.
Celtic first .
They walked away from £10’s of millions , paying £400k to have a claim on the history is peanuts.
This is a tragedy of injustice .
