JUST CHAMPION: ANGE’S FIGHTING TALK

ANGE POSTECOGLOU remains bullish despite Celtic dropping five points and conceding the same amount of goals in their last two games since sealing their second successive title.

The Hoops have lost 3-0 at Ibrox and drawn 2-2 with St Mirren at Parkhead after beating Hearts 2-0 at Tynecastle to secure their eleventh championship in 12 years.

Now Postecoglou is preparing his players for tomorrow night’s encounter against Hibs at Easter Road before the curtain comes down on another dramatic and thrilling Premiership campaign on Flag Day at Parkhead on Saturday.

THAT CHAMPION FEELING…Ange Postecoglou is on course for the treble.

After the meeting with the Pittodrie outfit, the Greek-Australian gaffer and his players can turn their attention to the Scottish Cup Final against Inverness Caley Thistle at Hampden the following week.

Asked about what he has learned about the team in the last couple of games, he told Celtic TV: “I just wanted to give guys game time so we can be ready for the Cup Final.

“I haven’t learned anything in the last period that I didn’t already know.

“From my perspective, there is nothing I am learning now I didn’t already know. Actually, the one thing I do know is that this squad is champions.

“So, that is a pretty good feeling and what we set out to do. We did it and there is nothing else I need to know, really, apart from the fact they have been outstanding this year.

“They have won the competition, they have won another competition [the League Cup]and they have an opportunity to win another competition.

“Everything I need to know is right there.”
