Juxtaposition of Keane with wannabes elsewhere

Worst Rangers [sic]team in history?
Check.

Worst Rangers [sic]chief executive in history?
Check.

Worst Rangers [sic]fans in history?
Oh, please.  They have played their part to perfection.

Worst Rangers [sic]manager in history?
Who, Ally the Great Enabler?  No way.

Charles Green would not have any authority at Ibrox if Ally McCoist didn’t act as his enabler last year.  While every Celtic fan with a keyboard was typing “Can they really be so stupid again?” Ally was cutting a deal for almost 5% of the share capital of the company [sic].  None of this would be possible without Ally.  If you see him, buy him a pie.

The juxtaposition was pointed out to me:

19 years after John Keane stepped forward with an amount of money very precious to him..

With no guarantee it would solve our problems…

Or that he would see a penny of it again (for the record, he hasn’t, and he is unlikely to)…

A very different history played out across the city.

Today’s Herald told us the group trying to overthrow the Sevco board contains Jim McColl and that, “McColl is one of Scotland’s richest people, but he won’t spend his own money”.

The world is full of rich men who will not spend their own money.  Long may they squabble over the Ibrox debris.

Our honorary chairman, John Keane, waved to the Celtic Park crowd before letting the league flag fly high, a direct consequence of putting his money where his mouth was.

  1. 16 Roads,

For September, we’re going to chip in and get you one of those beer hats with straw, so you can comfortably walk bar to bar with two pints strapped to your noggin.

It’s still illegal to drink in the street in this bastion of western democracy, but the rozzers won’t notice it.

I doubt that the author meant Tommy’s teams, more likely the other ones he played in.

And there was some dross ……

Paul carried us through maybe six years of it. He must have despaired looking at some of his team-mates.

A genuine hero. We were truly blessed to have him at that time. I just wish he had won as much as he deserved.

    Hangover? Never had one.

    Maybe if I had,I wouldn’t drink so much,haha!!!

If you want to avoid one, drink a half-pint of tomato juice-or chuck a tin of chopped tomatoes into the micro-add plenty of salt, and if yer brave, some Tabasco.

    You will then be hangover-free.

I told a mate about this, but he still gets hangovers as he’s too pashed to remember to take it!

The script about the founding of legendary Scottish soccer team Celtic Football Club is billed as “Gangs of New York” meets “Field of Dreams.”

Writer/director/actor Peter Mullan’s Paradise, a movie about the founding of legendary Scottish soccer team Celtic Football Club by a priest in 1887, is creating buzz among buyers.

The movie, billed as Gangs of New York meets Field of Dreams in Victorian Glasgow, is being shopped in Cannes by movie director and producer Peter Broughan.

Broughan, whose directing résumé includes Rob Roy, told The Hollywood Reporter he was exceptionally busy because he has a “project that everyone wants.”

The movie details the story of Irish Marist priest Brother Walfrid, who founded the soccer club at a catholic church in Glasgow on November 6, 1887.

Celtic became the first British club to win the European Cup in 1967. The team is one of the most supported sporting entities in the world and is estimated to have more than a million fans in the U.S. alone.

Broughan is a lifelong fan of the team, nicknamed “the Hoops.”

    Unquestionably.

Australia in recession is still a marvellous place, with a marvellous future.

Particularly for the young.Sorry to create the opposite impression.

I would never dissuade anyone from emigrating to this country.

    My opinion is merely that.

The immediate future of our economy is challenging.

Interest rates reduced and perhaps going further South this week.

Value of the A$ dropped 15% in the last few months.

Our economy is currently linked to the Chinese, which is currently “pausing.”

The proportion of the world’s refugees that head for Australia is less than 0.5%.

Apart from that small fact, it is quite bizarre to use the number of refugees heading our way as some sort of proof of what a great country it is.

Australia does not have a refugee problem. Australia has a political problem in dealing with refugees, while clinging to votes.

It is an absolute disgrace what Australia is doing to these poor people.

Also, I strongly disagree that Australia is a great place for young people to come to. Not any more it isn’t. It pains me to say it but the way things are going, in 5 to 10 years time there will be no jobs for them. We will have graduates cleaning toilets and serving burgers.

All because the Australian body politick is afraid to talk about new initiatives. So many Call Centre and IT jobs will be going overseas it is frightening, but the political parties are not facing up to this, because it is not a vote winner.

I retire in 5 years and therefore I am one of the lucky ones. It’s the younger people I work beside I feel sorry for, because their jobs will disappear not long after I hang up my shoes.

Australia is indeed a beautiful country, but in all honesty, I wouldn’t be encouraging any youngster thinking of migrating here. Not as things stand at the moment.

  31. Excuse me butting in….

Australia, it seems to me, is just like the rest of the Western World…

Politics is focused upon some small details that get people debating how many angels can stand on a needle..

Or some other emotive sh%t… While Oz is attractive to me for lifestyle… There is some weird political stuff going on down under..Almost as weird as the rest of the west… ? Assanage (?) is someone who is ahead of the Corporate curve, he knows what is happening Globally in this Brave New World. His Australian citizenship is irrelevant. Indeed, the questions he raises is something to be proud of…

The Big Picture ( that many on here can see in Scottish sport, but not beyond) is that the MSM and the politicians are simply interested in CONTROL…

Their JACKANOROY sown to the chattering classes is highly efficient & successful. Jack Irvine and his ilk are simply gatekeepers to the Fooldom of Emotion…

Is it very very odd, that in the age of the internet bampots that The People (and manyTims) fall for such amplified nonsense? No. It is everywhere…

The old Divide and Rule prevails in the Information Age… No matter how much of a Clown Super Ally appears to the rationale… He will continue to be legitimate, most pertinently to his self deluding self…

So maybe, in a media sense, deluded Ally is just like the rest of us…

As I said Very Very Odd…..

    Rant Over…

  32. Heard at the game in Saturday that they are showing the game at celtic park on Wednesday. Is it first come first served or do you have to phone and book?

  33. BTW my previous comment was NOT an attack on Australia. It was an attack on the politicians and the business community who have collectively buried their heads in the sand, for their own ends.

The UK has many problems, but is years ahead of Australia when it comes to business and employment initiatives as a means of creating jobs.

Unless there is a change in attitude here, the future looks bleak for our young people.

.5 % of refugees means we are doing pretty well in my book.

You refer to them as refugees and ” poor people. ” I disagree.

Those who arrive in Indonesia by plane and pay people smugglers 10 grand ?

    Pretty rich refugees.

Politicians on both sides are in agreement that these are economic migrants who see Australia as an extremely desirable place to live.

The worst aspect is that genuine refugees are left to wait in Indonesia as the quota is filled by the rich who fill the pockets of the people smugglers.

I am still of the opinion that our young people have a great future in Oz.,assuming Tony Abbott gets in!!!!!!!!
