  1. We as fans have a right to expect a much better performance than that from Celtic. Granted the pitch was poor but Killie wanted it more and outfought us all over the pitch. It’s easy to be critical of big Moussa but the supply to him today was very poor. Sinky looks a shadow of his former self and we were totally outclassed in midfield. Big few weeks coming up for the club. Hopefully the injuries to Bhoyata and big Kris Ajer are not too serious.

    HH

  2. A well.

    Disappointed with display and result………next!

    C’MON THE CELTS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  3. Coukd have played all day and not scored, tactics did not work, wide men playing to deep, we could hold the ball up front, pitch a leveller but not an excuse.

Charley was not in the game.

  4. Killie fully deserved their win. SC executed his plan successfully. Our style too predictable. Don’t appear to have a valid plan B.

  5. CultsBhoy- Last of the famous international PlayBhoys on

I don’t think it was down to lack of quality as we dominated the ball. A slavish obsession with side and back passing confounds me.

Yes it’s the way to. Play when winning but not when you are chasing and certainly not with minutes to redeem a draw.

Pitch is shit for both teams.

Yes we lost Defenders early but our problems were front to midfield. Musonda was being marked by 2 so why didn’t we exploit the space left?

Poor performance today. Dembele poor. Sinclair poor. Forest gets pass marks.

  6. 50 shades of green on

    Poor performance,

7 in a row soon enough.

The post was at least around the time of the game but sadly still no fitba post !

How did you think young Hendry played on his debut ?

  8. poor, poor performance from us ,not many, if any good points , lost 2 players from injuries and 3 pts to boot , well done killie. maybe thats the secret reduce the dimensions and put down a plastic pitch and have ref on your side.

  9. Canamalar it looks like OCD obsession on

Forward players coming deep to join in passing square and back only improves their pass completed stats.

  10. BIG-CUP-WINNERS on

You’ve got to want to win the game.

Too many found lacking a bit of spunk, when faced by Mulumbu. 70th minute the guy had our entire midfield so dominated he decided to create the winner.

80th minute Dembele was the first guy to challenge him. He still wanted to go and dominate us. Dembele (or someone else a lot earlier preferably) would have dragged the guy into a scrap.

Yes, we have a lack of fight in the team.

Mulumbu, I’d have him signed in the summer.

  11. We don’t have a divine right to win. It actually helps us having difficult games against well organised opposition rather than going into a game knowing we’re going to win and wondering how much we’re going to win by. We were hampered by losing our two central defenders so early on in the game when we were dominating. The pitch was awful and our performance level suffered due to the above factors. We didn’t create anything noteworthy today and it can be attributed as a bad day at the office. Shit happens. Roll on the next game.

  12. As someone said earlier, same pitch for both teams.

However, I question our attitude and BR ‘tactics’.

    Both very poor IMO.

They harried and crowded out (I know they were allowed to kick & push by clancy) but were prepared to burst forward quickly to put pressure on. We weren’t.

JF didn’t go past the full back till the last few minutes. Why was that?

Kouassi was restricted by his booking (Killie players didn’t need to worry about that)but several others were posted missing.

Wonder what the stats are in relation to GK saves.

I know the Killie keeper had one.

    Doris a few more.

    Very poor.

  13. We need to get our passing sorted

Giving the ball away to easily

    Plus stop going backwards

Finally get wee Paddy fit to take our right side forward

  14. Killie deserves it.

    We were too ponderous.

    Poor Celtic performance.

    Terrible pitch for professional football.

    We need a plan C.

First 15 minutes I thought we were going to stroll it. The injuries encouraged them and cost us three points I think but Clarke can organise a team to be hard to break down and make the most of any breaks they get. When you do that there’s always a chance you’ll beat a better team sometimes.

I hope comperr is close to fitness because while I like the youthfulness of the team we did at times play like a reserve team.

I’ll leave the cqn field to the dementors for the rest of the day.

  15. glendalystonsils on

Kilmarnock, the referee and their pitch all combined to beat us.

No complaints, we were dreadful. Too often a pass was played to a player who was standing still. Crossing was woeful. Sinclair has lost all his zip and confidence, Forrest seemed reluctant to take on his man, Dembele was totally overshadowed by his opposite number Malumbu.

Jack Hendry will be a player for us, as will Charly when he plays on grass. De Vries, I’m still not convinced about, I think Bain might be a better bet.

Today won’t matter in the larger scheme of things, but something must be done about these pitches. I’m convinced neither of our CB’s would have been injured on grass.

  16. 16 roads - Celtic über alles... on

No complaints – the best team won.

    We learn and move on.

One of those games where we could have done with a Chris Sutton type in attack.

The squad plagued with injuries – one cannot legislate for that.

Expect Celtic to annilate opposition teams once the weather begins to improve again.

Celtic support phenomenal as per always.

    HH.

  17. CultsBhoy- Last of the famous international PlayBhoys on

Forest broke the line a few times.. He didn’t get much of the ball.

  18. No excuses- Killie deserved their win.

The ref was not to blame

The pitch was a leveller but it also got inside our players’ heads too as they worried too much about it. Goals on plastic pitches usually come from long shots being spilled, fortuitous breaks of a bobbling ball, or someone muscling a defender out of their space. We tried variation sof the pass and move but had too few long shots.

Our best spells came when Kieran was marauding up the left (without much support) and we made that adjustment a bit too late, with Brown dropping into defence.

We exposed ourselves chasing the equaliser and should have lost a few more.

Somedays you eat the bear…… and somedays……

I’ll leave the forum free for a lot of not-recently-seen “dissenting” voices to have their say and a few new names with 67 on the end will join them.

There is plenty to criticise today but nothing we can do about it till we turn up for the Thistle game on to cheer the team on to better days.

Well done Killie!- teams that challenge us will help us improve.

    Big Cup Winners 2.35pm

I watched Mulumbo against the Sevs and I think he was better that day, I honestly don’t think he would get near our first 11, but he was great today

  20. Final thought – aye it was the same pitch for both teams. But when you set out not to lose and kill the game it suits you better than a team that wants to play attacking football. Maybe we need to set up a bit differently on such pitches to account for it.

It’s why I’m more confident going to Ibrox or Hampden with the current team and manager than i am going to tynecastle and the aptly named rugby park. It’s a better pitch which suits our game.

    Anyway, have a nice day.

  21. Neg you seemed to be obsessed with the bank balance, tell us how much exactly Celtic have swirling about in there? Not a guess but something backed by facts H H Hebcelt

  22. GlassTwoThirdsFull on

Very flat and one-paced. Kilmarnock very well organised and worked really hard. Be hard to say they didn’t deserve the win. Always a problem if you don’t take the lead in these types of games.

Bitton poor at the goal, but he isn’t a defender.

Nobody in the midfield-to-front area moving into space and showing for the ball, so very easy to defend against. Missed McGregor in this regard. Also missed Armstrong’s runs.

Early days but hope Musonda has an end product to go with the tricks and flicks.

Unlucky with the injuries, but we really need to be doing better. Can’t blame tiredness now.

  23. Well done to Brendan Rodgers for signing Hendry before Boyata got injured, now that’s what I call planning:))

Poor today all over the pitch..

That being said losing two of your three defenders early on is going to affect your game plan I would imagine.

Steve Clarke is a good experienced higher level manager, I like him and he deserved the points today, set his team up and Malumba was the man of the match..

    Danso 2.39pm

The Sevs sorted the dandy dons

As TOSB has also posted we have no divine right to win and it doesn’t help when we were rubbish :-)

  25. Cultsbhoy

I must have been watching a different game

I thought he was woefully poor, will not go into a 70/30 tackle, and even in 3rd minute of injury time he goes back

Watch the first 3 or 4 minutes of 2nd half again, and see how often he gives up possession and team momentum
