Knowledge management

I caught a bit of yesterday’s newspapers; the contrast between an article in The Herald, linked from the Quick News section, and one elsewhere was stark.  It brought to mind a very politically incorrect cartoon depicting a conversation someone trying to explain the consequences of a football club getting into vast amounts of debt.  “You don’t have the intellect to understand what is happening” was the active line.

This far into actual news [def: hard information about a subject] on how Rangers were being run by the board in charge prior to Craig Whyte’s takeover, some are still flogging “EBTs were legal”, “No one complained about EBTs at the time”, “Juninho had an EBT”, as though somehow any of this was in doubt or relevant to the question.

The only show in town, to use our favourite phrase from last season, is ‘Were players illegally registered?’  You can pay them in cash, by EBTs or by boatloads of bananas, you can pay them when they were playing, before they were playing or after, the timing makes no difference whatsoever, but did you record all contracts or did you hide dozens of contracts from oversight?

Anyone who, this late in the debate, is blabbering on about EBTs being noted in Rangers annual accounts either doesn’t have the grey stuff to grasp the point, or somehow believes they can knowledge manage their readership.  “You don’t have the intellect to understand what is happening”, is perhaps the message they are sending out.

I know what you mean but the same people will be offended by a Celtic supporter wearing any Celtic shirt so makes no difference if it is a white t-shirt with shamrock or not.

I reckon it’s more likely to be a white t-shirt with the original red crest instead of a shamrock.

If it’s a nice kit, i’ll buy one as unlike most away strips, it won’t go out of style as it will be a one-off anniversary type kit.

  4. If the 125th Anniversary Kit,is indeed,a white top with the Shamrock on it,IMO it would be the most appropriate. When do I place my order. It will be a sell out,the most popular one after the Hoops.Bring it on.HH.

Ripped up my membership the day Blair became leader, and never voted for him. Honestly,if that yin told me he was a Celtic fan,I’d be down the Copeland Road tomorrow.

  7. BOBBY MURDOCH’S CURLED-UP WINKLEPICKERS – I never could work out how comes Tony Blair was able to buy that multimillion pound London property on his Prime Ministerial salary, even with his wife being a barrister.

I’m sure there was nothing dodgy going on though, he’s a pretty straight sort of guy. (thumbsup)

The best laugh about Scargill taking over as head of the NUM was that Joe Gormley delayed his retirement to prevent Mick McGahey being elected.

Joe thought JM was too extreme, but that experience at the higher levels would moderate Scargill.

    Good guess,close but it’s not right……

  9. Not particularly bothered what the anniversary kit looks like -as long as it does’nt resemble the Barca strip the team wore at the week-end! I will probably buy one safe in the knowledge that I will be able to wear it out here, and not be ‘battered’ in the street.

I love it,honestly-and I will be buying it.

Like every other Celtic top I have worn in inappropriate places, touch wood,I will get away with it.

My honest fear is that not everyone will-and I’m not sure a Celtic Cross is any less inflammatory than a shamrock.

I’m not a back-of-the-bus type, but I think we should be more circumspect at the moment.

But I’ll say no more on the subject, apart from it R-E-A-L-L-Y is a belter!

Sounds like its going to be a hugely popular kit.

BMCUW – inflammatory? We may as well take to the field wearing all white with no crest. Did you hear the story about the Annan supporter who was allegedly the victim of an attempted attack because he was wearing a green polo shirt?

Lets not pander to the bigots of the dead club.

Yep – they sure are good to watch. Croatia played a similar way in Euro 2012. Was hoping Celtic could try a similar formation, but Neil likes his tough central midfielders.

Both Cardozo and Rodrigo like to receive crosses – cut out the delivery and you drastically limit their attack. Play 4-4-2 and I’d expect a repeat of the Ireland-Croatia match. 4-2-3-1 the way to go for Celtic.

The Iceman on TSFM in that post has articulated my suspicions that the protection of Rangers and those who caused their demise goes all the way up the power and justice chain.

Its as if perpetuating one myth ” a strong brotherhood” is dependent on perpetuating another ” a strong Rangers”.

When black becomes white when imbeciles try to convince intellect that wrong is right well its almost like a spiritual version of Armaggedon where Love versus Fear.

I’ve been out of Kilwinning a long time after being brought up there. What a place. The Garnock will be black with swans before I’d go back, but I did spend my Steely Dan years there. Since my mum and dad passed away (God rest them) I never feel the urge to return really.

  20. TET,

I’m with you on that, as you know.

There is no appetite for justice in Scotland.

It is not being served and will never be served.

Every body that has had any connection to Them, has either ignored or broken their own rules.

My dearest wish is, once the system has delivered what it considers to be it’s verdict on the various crimes, that Celtic take a step back and reviews it’s position.

If, as we anticipate, that verdict is a continuation of the corruption, then Celtic have to remove itself from the scene.

Anything less is complicity. No more, no less.

As I have stated previously, to continue to support our club in such a situation, would be to also condone the evil.

What Celtic fan can continue to support a corrupted club?

    I don’t think I could.

I think that this is the message that should be driven home to our own Board.

The time will soon be upon us to prove that today’s Celtic are worthy to stand beside the Celtic of yesterday, who, when required, stood up to evil, irrespective of the cost.

    Anniversary shirt?

Let’s hope that we are worthy of remembering, Walfrid, Glass, et al.

  24. Kris Commons: I always like it 100mph from the first whistle.

KC: I like to let the other team know they’re in for a game – don’t let them settle and let them know it won’t be an easy night.

KC: Benfica have dangerous attacking players who are comfortable on the ball.

KC: It will be a different game, one we’ve not experienced this season, but we’re all ready for it.

  25. I, too, am beginning to suspect that there is/will be a concerted effort by the political and judicial institutions to ‘save’ them and absolve them of all blame.

If this turns out to be the case then EVERY supporter of EVERY club in Scotland should have the sharpened pitchforks at the ready, and be prepared to march to Holyrood, Westminster and Whitehall.

What’s the name of that place with no name on the Gallowgate? Usually has “live entertainment” before and after the games.

I literally have never seen a sign with a name on it. Haven’t a clue what the place is called and have been in loads of times.

It has it’s own particular ambience.

As always, I admire your posts and I dearly hope your final comment comes to pass.

The alternative, for me, may be a step too far, in all conscience.

At this stage in my life, abandoning Celtic is almost unthinkable, but I’m also too old to have my nose rubbed in it by Institutions in a country that I happily left behind many years ago.

Please don’t let it happen, Celtic.
