Legia looming

847

Celtic have played four games against Polish opposition, losing to Legia Warsaw and Wisla Crakow in 2006 friendlies, drawing thanks to a very late Kenny Dalglish goal against Wislaw, before losing the return game. We’re going to need to break new ground if we’re to reach the Champions League play-off round.

As I predicted, you can ignore the 1-1 draw with St Pat’s last week, Legia are a far better team than that result suggested and it now looks like they have thrown off their summer slumber.

Time to hit form, Celtic.

Israel seem to be being criticised for having a good missle defence system

Perhaps they should switch it off…let some of their folk get killed….maybe they’ll gain some sympathy

Incidentally I’m no Israel fan …..

I said a few days ago that if I were a Hamas commander and had seen my actions kill one Israeli, with hundreds of my people dead as a result,I would be rethinking my strategy.

The problem with Hamas is like other Jehadists, they are willing to die to kill you, 100, 1000 dead Palestinians means nothing to them as long as they kill at least one Israeli. Hamas needs to realise that you don’t win wars by dying for your country, you win wars by making sure the other guy dies for his, and Hamas aint gonna outgun Israel.

  15. 79caps is correct. Gaza is a concentration camp. It is blockaded permanently and kept in isolation and poverty. If you do that to a people of course you will reap what you sow and out of this oppression revolutionaries are born. Even in “peace” times the Israelis regularly bomb targets in Gaza with targeted assassinations and regularly shoot unarmed Palestinians on their borders. I was in the Golan heights a couple of years ago a couple of days before the anniversary of the annexation of some Palestinian lands and homes. A couple of days later a group of unarmed Palestinians attempted a symbolic walk to their ancestral homes and were shot down in cold blood, I think about 12 or 13 were killed but when counting Palestinian casualties numbers don’t really matter. Against this backdrop in the aftermath of an Israeli raid they do fire a few rockets at Israel. I am not condoning it but I do understand why they do it.

From my experience on Tuesday (you part-timer…get your priorities right next year, holiday before season starts)…) it was okay going but the volume of people traffic wanting to use Tram back to their parking areas easterly caused the problems in my opinion.

The design of the entrance to accessing the eastbound track was not very safe, a single pole barrier which was manned by Tram Staff and overseen by Police Scotland, my fear is if the exiting support were not in such good mood or the weather was bad I think it could have been nastier.

Killing of civilians is abhorrent from whichever side. Targetting of them is especially despicable.

The genesis of the conflict tho, is akin to a group if people – subjected to horrors in a foreign war – coming to Scotland and proclaiming that your hoos and land was theirs by dint of the word of a god given some thousands of years ago.

So, oot ye go, into a fenced enclosure around Ayr.

Just thought I would add my tuppence worth on the merits of getting to the game at Murrayfield the other night.

I work at Eurocentral so know how busy that the road gets, I left work at 4:15 to go back into Glasgow to pick up my brother and nephew who were also working. so the earliest we could head for the game was 5:30 ,which we did bang on time, now I know that the M8 eastwards is always busier than the route west, and when I left Eurocentral at 4:15 it was busier than on a normal weekday.

I asked several guys from out Bathgate and livingston way for some advice they said either go to the Gyle or Ingleston park and ride.

As soon as we got onto the M74 at Fullerton road the traffic was almost immediatley at snails pace and was the same all the way along to the M73 and then around the Bailiston roundabout and practically like that all the way to Livingston where we managed to get into fourth gear, we eventually got to the park and ride at approx 7:30 got on a tram and missed the first 5 minutes only. Now when I am working on CL nights and I leave work at 4:15 the traffic into Glasgow is nowhere near what it was like the other night, when going the other way. So I suppose what I am saying is that it is different for everyone, we as a group could not have left Glasgow any sooner.

And for what it is worth Murrayfield was a smashing stadium miles better than Hampdump

    Your analogy has to contain;

Scots invade and displace NI citizens, revoke their rights, disenfranchise NI hatioals, blockade supplies , build houses for Scots only, destroy NI houses

England supply Scotland with weapons of sophisticated destruction and economically support Scotland with contracts which clearly are not best value

Then we can debate your analogy on proportionate response to an ongoing response to tyranny.

I avoid dealing with Israeli companies but where i have had no choice, I have taken then to the cleaners. They really don’t like that more than ineffective rockets

“If Scotland gets their Independance and suddenly rockets are fired every other day from Belfast into the East End of Glasgow, how would you respond…???”

I’d bomb hospitals in Belfast, murder kids playing on the street, slaughter disabled people and babies.

Then I’d release a statement saying I am considering what my response will be to the initial rocket attack, and tell everyone I am simply defending myself.

I’d do all this in the knowledge that apologists will defend my stance. Because that is who these things work. Isn’t it?
