  3. AR should be SR = Scott Robertson.

Failed egg chaser by all accounts — Lenzie joke.

Has had 3 good loan spells — 40 plus games all in.

Injured in Mar 2022’ish — not sure how his recovery is going.

  4. Tim Malone Will Tell on

Was it Jock Stein or someone else who said that there is no point in asking a player to do something he isn’t capable of doing.

Joe Hart is no ‘sweeper/keeper’ – not fast enough or comfortable enough with the ball at his feet.

I accept that modern keepers must act as an extra outfield player to recycle or shift direction – but Joe should be nowhere near the halfway line in my opinion.

Every contributor on here gives an opinion which they want people to read.

Mitch is a fool unto himself as now a lot of people just blank his comment and move on without reading what he wants people to see in the first place.

Some of his pieces can be lengthy as he has several points to make, but as soon as the abbreviations start then I move to the next contributor.

He may think he’s trolling a bit by doing this, but all he is doing is making people just blank him.

    MON The Gerries !

I watched the England v Spain match last night and that SERIAL CHEAT of Engurland “…their No.9 ” ELLEN WHITE”, was at it yet again in the first few seconds of the game.

in an attempt to close down Spain from the Kick Aff….The ball hit her out stretched ARM, which was in the air….SHE…the CHEAT went down holding her FACE !

    She just cant help herself……

Spain blew it…they had complete control of the game for the first 84 minutes, and they let Engurland ” Aff the Hook”.

Yet again, the FEMALE English Commentator showing yheir horrible BIASED Opinions….screaming for a Penalty at ANY SLIGHT Contact in the box.

If you can’t spot a UKIP member then watch out — you are becoming one yourself.

Plenty of nativists in G67.5 — just a case they are better known as Nats / Tartan Tories

We might have power-washed the stadium but could somebody do something about the grass?

Surely we could stretch to some new street furniture / signs?

That one was put up to stop a horse and cart needing to do a 3 point turn.

The cooncil — the whole city is going to rack and ruin.

What a pile of💩that report is, Old Firm FC 8 points better of than Celtic. For a start the underground doesn’t go to the east end, there’s the 8. Moreover their own fans were complaining about lack of stock at their kiosks and coffee/ tea cold, juices and water served warm😕

  17. prestonpans bhoys on

Oh and it would be a brave man to use the underground to the bigotdome and wearing a different colour😱

  18. Turkeybhoy, bit of a long shot but do you know of any Celtic bars in Olu Deniz? Over there next week over the weekend of first game, no worries if not , might not get away from family in any case HH Bhoy

I have done the north coast route before when my time was leisurely. This visit is mostly to see the relatives and Thom the Thim so we will cross via Glenveagh as usual. If we get a spare morning, we might try to conquer Muckish rather than go for a hat trick of Errigals but my preference is to go walking the lower slopes of the hills opposite Errigal for an hour or two.

    Back next Wednesday

  20. GO Radio Another hun infested station, and there supporters say everyone in the Media is against them,,Me Personally will stick with all things Celtic.

Good evening all from Shawlands. A small gathering at the Shipbank tomorrow 1pm. All welcome, no exceptions. 👍

  22. Celtic grounstaff and the facilities team should cut the grass at the Springfield road side , weed the pavements, and straighten the dead end sing (which has been like that for many years now)

And also pre and post match on Saturday if anybody is up high jinks and jolly larks.

  24. MM

Hindsight is at least accurate. Revisionism is not.

McFadden could not lace the boots of Larsson, Hartson or Sutton. He was and would have been less effective than guys we did get instead- Bellamy and Robbie Keane (on loan). He would have scored far less than the players we did buy instead- Maciej Zurawski, Scott McDonald and JVOH (as termed in MM-speak).

At his best he could have been as effective for us as Kenny Miller- another non-scoring myth or Dion Dublin- a complete indulgent luxury.

P.S. – I did laugh at the brevity jibe. Try a wee bit of research- on any given day- count the words that you and I contribute respectively to the blog (you can even count an abbreviated name such as MM as just one word) and you will soon find out who dominates the word count here. Nevertheless- I would like to think that a higher percentage of the words I choose to type (and I don’t take requests, thanks) are, at least, understandable and, therefore, read. It would be sad to think that so much effort was being expanded to such little effect. Much like the street signposting in Cumbernauld.

    Sorry Mitch apologies.

I never realised that I was to go into fits of laughter at all you abbreviations.

Now that I realise this i’ve went over all your old contributions with all the initials and i’m creased over laughing.

Lordy knows how I missed this before.

I see all your abbreviations in a different light now.

  28. Some paragraphs written by an Everton fan on McFadden. It is far from being a hatchet job:-

“At the end of his first season at Goodison it seemed as though the jump up from Scottish League had been bigger than both he and the expectant Goodison faithful thought it would be. Many fans put his mixed start to life in the Premiership down to his being played out of position and many clamoured for him to be given a go up front.”

“The start of the 2004-05 season was just as difficult, as the young Scot lacked confidence and failed to shine in the increasingly rare outings he was given by David Moyes.

His confidence appeared to have taken a beating and although he was getting into good positions, making decent runs and passing defenders, he tended to fail at the last moment because of indecision or just making the wrong decision. ”

“2006-07 was anticipated to be an important one for James in terms of his Goodison future and McFadden was expected to be employed on the flanks as a result of the Johnson-Beattie partnership. But McFadden once again struggled to get a regular place, and ended up breaking a bone in his foot, again putting the brakes on any momentum he might have been building.”

“McFadden himself would have doubts about the wisdom of the move (to Birmingham) years later:

“I was getting frustrated at not playing. I was doing well for Scotland but when I came back, the manager [Moyes], in his typical fashion, would have something to say to me about even my performances for Scotland!

“I just had to move, it was quite hard training every day and doing well, and coming to the weekend and not playing – or playing 10 or 20 minutes, with the manger telling me I had to build trust again.

“I felt at that time, it was time to move on. In hindsight, I should have stayed, stuck it out – because I feel like I was starting to get into a way of playing the manager wanted me to play.”

On his return to Everton from Birmingham:- “It was a move that, while perhaps understandable under Everton’s parlous financial circumstances, was not exactly welcomed unanimously by increasingly weary Evertonians — if there was anything that signaled how far the club had fallen on hard times, nothing could underline it more than bringing back an unfit ex-player who had failed to set the world alight in his first spell with the club.”- even J McF himself would not make the case for his club career being successful.

The Everton site’s overall summary is a fair one:

    STRENGTHS

    Can score stunning goals

    Close ball control

    WEAKNESSES

    Flatters to deceive

Out of action for over a year…

Agree 100%! Clearing the vegetation from the asphalt and kerbs should be Job 1. Straightening the pole, wire brushing the rust, applying primer and a top coat should be Job 2. If the Council refuse to repair or resurface the asphalt, the Club should do that as well, as the general dereliction really takes away from the Stadium’s appearance. If I was 3,000 miles closer, I would really be tempted to go there early one morning with my trusty weed whacker, and at least make the minimal improvements.
