I worked one summer in a funfair but was sacked after a week.

But I got my own back I took the owners to court for funfair dismissal!

Hi folks ….so what pub is the CQN corner in and is there a session this weekend …If so post details please ?

  3. Good to see the bar/café initiative. I’m sure it’ll be a big success and can’t wait to use it.

Can’t say I have any regrets about “missing out” on McFadden. Various pieces of “gossip” and info/opinion from elsewhere build a picture of Moyes as an overbearing, inflexible manager with little ability to be self-critical (which we all need, wouldn’t you agree, fellow bloggers)? As an ex-Celtic player I want to cut him some slack, but the fact he was Ferguson’s nominated successor at MU speaks volumes. He failed, of course. For a while there were rumours about him being a future Celtic manager. Although he denies ever saying it, he was widely quoted as saying there was only one team in Scotland he would be prepared to manage, and it wasn’t located in the East End of Glasgow. Fine with me! Another “Eddie Howe” lucky escape.

  12. good read

There’s a small note on the wall of Chris O’Loughlin’s office, tucked away in the near century-old stadium of Brussel’s Royale Union Saint-Gilloise.

“Don’t stop living your daydream” it reads, and O’Loughlin has no intent to do so anytime soon.

The Stade Joseph Mariën, with wooden seats and surrounded by trees on three sides, is an unlikely place to find a 43-year-old Irishman living his dream, indeed it’s an unlikely place for anyone to be doing so.

The ground, opened in 1919 one year before it hosted three games in the Antwerp Olympic Games, was last upgraded in 1926 when it was given its current Art Deco facade.

Alkmaar need penalty to beat Bosnians Tuzla City 1-0.

Motherwell still down 0-1 after 77 minutes to Sligo Rovers.

  14. JS — you might not know him but he is / was better than a 20yr old JMcF in 2003 and beyond.

Well — no pun intended — that is the opinion of SFTB.

  15. Tom McLaughlin on

Hibs have been eliminated from the League Cup after fielding an ineligible player in their 1-1 draw (1-3 penalties) at home to Morton last night. The Greenock club were today awarded a 3-0 victory.

Hibs were facing a certain exit at the weekend with only 3 other clubs required to better their 7 points total but today’s punishment kills any chance they might have had of progressing to the last 16.

I wonder if the new manager will last till Christmas.

  16. Sligo were on the Ryanair flight with my family last night. Shoestring and still won

    Fair play to them

    JS = No.29 @ Seville / On the bench.

For the benefit of the (understandably) cantbearsed…

Since all Celtic men know that Shaun Maloney (aka SM in MMish) was number 29 at that time, I suspect that he is referring to Jamie Smith, number 39 at that time.

Wonder if MM was sacked from GCHQ for beng unnecessarily and, often unintentionally, cryptic…

Motherwell getting beat, as someone pointed out earlier, Scottish refs interpretation of the rules doesn’t help the middle league clubs.

Without being allowed to play agricultural football they will get knocked out before the month ends

Last week, Man U went a goal down to Melb Victory with Ten Haag trying to get Lindelof and Maguire to push further upfield from the back. Yet the Reds fought back to go in at 45, with a nice 2-1 lead.

Ten Haag introduced 10 seconds/yoof players for the second half – including Diallo btw – and far from being disjointed, they bossed the Victory and took another two off them to win 1-4.

When MU played Palace 3 days later, both sides’ changed it up hugely and mosta their subs played very well.

Maybe it’s my arrogance, but I expect any Celtic 11 to get sufficiently organised and in the flow to beat teams from lower leagues (Blackburn and Legia). Ange has ‘protected’ his bhoys by saying it’s all about fitness.

These ties are the ideal games for peripherals to either claim a stake for a shirt or – in the case of two many – expedite a loan spell at Hibs or some English Divi 1 side.

BTW, Norwich just beat Marseille 3-0 in Marseille; should be a good test for all our lhads.

  21. Hope the Cafe beside the Superstore is at least 4 times long and same in length, incidentally the Superstore should be extended, lawell isnt around anymore he was far more interested in his bonus look up at Lennoxtown a 3/4 indoor pitch when he was in charge of Finance’s pity we couldn’t claim the millions he skimmed of all us Celtic Supporters,Greedy Man
