    JMcF was a creative / wide MF player — not a striker.

     

    The market has spoken — he went for more than the strikers you mention that we bought so I struggle to understand how you can be so definite.

     

     

    JMcF would have been a great recruit in 2003 for £1.25mill.

     

    The decline that started as a stagnation that summer ended in the shambles of 2004/05 when the elastic really did snap.

     

     

    You mention lacing people’s boots — would that be the 2000 CS or the 2005 CS?

     

    I fear that you are judging everyone at their peak rather than the PIT that was summer 2003 / summer 204 / summer2005.

     

     

    JMcF was a growing talent at that time.

     

    CS / JH declined over that time period.

     

     

    It is called squad management — you might want to get involved.

    One of the many problems the Fat Cats don’t see is the state of the landscape in Janefield Street and other parts,they go into the private car park walk up to the entrance get the freebies and after the game back to their Mansions,at the next AGM I hope someone mentions the issues that fans have been saying on the state of the streets leading up to to the Stadium,and what happened to the £5 they charged in the car park in Janefield street which is now a freebie.

    Butlins in Bognor — KGV must be spinning in his grave at the thought.

     

     

    Experience of P/head — depending on your vintage ..

     

    If you are lucky to be less that 50 then I know more than you will ever witness.

     

     

    The railway bridge / embankment being the most prominent.

     

    The programme / trinket shed being the thing I miss most.

     

    That and the North Stand at Hampden for some reason.

    We tend to go Tuscany or Central area or even down the Amalfi coast and so the Lakes will be a nice wee change during the International break on September.

     

     

    I love Italy in all its guises and so hopefully this will be another good experience.

    I was on with my two aussie colleagues this morning (their evening)

     

    The one of Bosnian descent if a real football fanatic, playing , coaching to a decent level.

     

    I told him about Harry coming and a supriose to many as itys been quoted he and Ange have not worked together before.

     

     

    Thats Ange though he said, he will have had him in mond as the rioght sort for sometime and will take him there so he can get frersh ideas of how he himself is performing.

     

     

    Interesting I thought.

     

     

    Onto Mooy, Nic (for that is the fellas name) said, fantastic player, great signing, he will suprise and delight and its a pity you didnt keep Rogic.

     

     

    then he sadi, althought dont be suprised if Tom comes back.

    I am not sure what the justification for the bus pass scheme being allowed for those 60 and over in Scotland. I can’t really see the logic in it.

     

     

    But personally I love it. It saves a fortune and is super green / sustainable.

    If you read the Everton blog that I linked to- you’ll see that they saw him played as a winger and felt he’d be better as a striker. Turns out he could do neither well enough outside of a few Scotland games.

    Because his actual goal scoring record and real life playing record proves he wasn’t good enough. The actuality of his achievements/career trump the delusion/dreaming of what he might have done for us.

    To me he was a local player that we missed.
