Leigh, Kieran, marking your card

596

The most important result in international week is that we get all our (33) players back fit and ready for Saturday. That looks to be the case, although I hear Erik Sviatchenko had a close shave at Hampden. The job now is for Ronny Deila to assess the preparedness of his squad for the Hearts game. All may be fit, but it’ll be impossible for the likes of Tom Rogic to be at his best after coping with a 12,000 mile journey home and the necessary body clock adjustments.

Ronny will also have to counsel Kieran Tierney, who has had another big week. Teenagers often progress in waves, after with each crest there’s often a trough. The focus for Kieran right now has to be 100% Hearts.

I read Leigh Griffiths had an uneventful game against Denmark. Don’t bet against him shining on Saturday. He’s a player who flourishes with a point to prove.

I’ve not written much on Resolution 12 recently and I don’t see that changing for a few weeks (despite the trolls), but I have been very active on the subject. Anyone who thinks I’d skip over this is welcome to self-certify as a mindless troll below (I’m counting on at least one being sufficiently mindless…).

What I’d like to do is mark your card on this one. Completely erroneous claims have been made. Outrageous things have been written. There’s a Kangaroo Court underway which would do Salem proud. Let the loons run with their agenda of running Celtic down, but be circumspect. Your card’s been marked.

You are being played, all right, but not by Celtic.

Our condolences on the loss of your dad. Judging by your posts, he raised a fine man and I’m sure he’ll be beaming with pride when your new child is born.

I come home, put on CQN and usually it’s nothing to do with me.

Tonight, George Connelly? One of the greatest players I’ve watched. George, live in peace., you were better than Davie Hay and every other player at the training ground you couldn’t attend.

I hope you still support my team, Celtic.

As far as I am aware, Celtic FC don’t force people to work for them. If a person is unhappy with their wages, they are free to move on. Most Celtic supporters don’t give a monkeys about the living wage.

Lovely idea but it would probably cost jobs.

It always amazes me how 45% of Celtic supporters cannot distinguish between Celtic custodians and the club. To the extent that they will attack any criticism leveled at these custodians and their desire to bring back the nemesis that these supporters despise when it is the main Modus Operandi of the club. I have always suspected its something to do with external inputs at the anal retentive stage of development in the formative years, or broccoli Its definitely one of the two. :)

    Outsourced?

If Celtic decide that the LW increases to an unacceptable level (yep, a living wage, not an exorbitant amount) then all they need do is withdraw from accreditation.

Ps do you think Walfrid would support paying a LW?

  20. Is PL fit and proper ?

There are plenty of Celtic fans who would answer no. A decade of downsizing, fans criminalised with no support from the club and a bloated squad that is painful to watch most of the time. Recent signings such as Cole / Richards highlight significant failures in player recruitment. The 30k crowds and morgue like atmosphere reflect the scale of the decline.

Lawwells legacy will the downsizing and the significant missed opportunity of the last 4 years to put us in a position of strength. On Res 12 etc I would cut him some slack. It’s understandable PL wants a Sevco in the top league as he advised it is circa £10M/ annum for the club. Why rock the boat ?

if the club was not in such a mess I am not sure Res 12 would even be on the agenda. It’s only on CQN that it is a subject of debate. As long as Celtic show no real public desire on the topic why should the SFA take it seriously or indeed Celtic fans.

Fixing the club is the priority. The SFA and Sevco will be joined at the hip next season and with loan signings / honest mistakes / bosmans will surprise us if we are not ready.

  21. i heard brother walfrid was such an amazing guy that he never once got agitated by being the man at Celtic and having a bunch of tims digging him up for it

  22. Winning captains.

See I struggle with all this subterfuge when in reality all the board needs to do is say they support res 12 and they are taking it to UEFA.

Or if there is a genuine valid reason for not doing so tell us what it is.

But there isn’t so they can’t and they can’t so they won’t cos they are up to their necks in it.

All the rest I think is just disguise and bluster.

As many say time will tell if the support really do just want to return to being victims of racism. I and many like me won’t. Maybe that won’t matter to the board if they get enough turnstile fodder.

But it will say a lot I’m afraid and like Paul has said things will never b the same again. And remember you can only pretend your way word love isn’t sleeping behind your back by either abandoning your own pride or eventually your sanity.

  25. Margaret McGill. It’s just that some people cannot face up to the thing that they love and what she is really doing behind your back, no matter the amount of evidence in front of their eyes. It’s fear of losing something you love or the loss of innocence that drives it.
