News that a striker reneged on a verbal commitment to join the club 24 hours before deadline day should surprise no one. Think back to that line from Jerry Maguire, when Jerry’s girlfriend hears he had secured a representative deal on a handshake, not an actual contract. The agent’s reminder of Lesson One in business was sharp.
Last minute change of plans happen, but only when you’re doing last minute business. We are now 10 hours away from the deadline and in desperate need for what we’ve been in desperate need…. to replace the long departed Gary Hooper. It would be wrong to think that Scepovic was the only striker we were pursuing, so we’re not starting from scratch, but he was first choice.
The ball is still in play, not panicking yet.

Maybe he will.
I just think bigger mistakes are being made at Celtic just now.
The Mubarak Wakaso dressed as Sherlock Holmes story is an absolute hoot.
I don’t see a striker coming in this window. Who’s to say Scep was infact already plan b, c or v? And even if there were other options, they’ve probably already made their transfer.
I wish UEFA would ditch this failed transfer window system. All it does is inflate wages, and transfer fees and cause chaos.
Balde for the off?:

Is ibrahimovic here yet??

As a regular at Pittodrie. Niall McGinn is better than Pawlette… Griffiths is better than both of them.

Worthwhile opinion to air – good shout.

Are you mental?
It’s just that you sound a bit mental.

Turkeybhoy, do you actually like being a Celtic supporter?,
What have I actually said to make you think I dont. The truth?.Sorry if that offends you.

The mistakes have been a long time in the making.
Livibhoy – cheers mate.
You’d like to think so but I guess it depends on what we are prepared to offer him.
Like you say, money talks.
I know this though, PL said the aim was to for the team to be stronger at the end of each transfer window than before. It’s been a while since that happened. In fact the exact opposite is happening and we, the supporters, are sick of it.
I don’t think Kris showed up to well as captain yesterday. Too nice a guy?

Excellent article on Onfieldsofgreen, don’t necessarily agree with every point nor the conspiracy angle but nonetheless, excellent article, cheers for the link
Options
1. We could take Tony Watt on loan.
2. We could take Denny Johnstone on loan.
3. We could convert Derk B. into a striker.
4. We could do nothing.
No, forget no. 3.

Nikola Zigic?
Livibhoy. Surely buying players who cannot get a game for there club Russell at Derby County is exactly why we have Pukki Balde and Borighter.I hope we steer well clear. H.H.

My friends in Celtic,
We heard on the previous article this morning how “Rangers” used to entice their potential signings VIP jets blah, blah.,
OK,did they not?.Never mind the “Blah Blah”bit,Did they not?.
Tom?
Robert88. What about him ? H.H.
So Plan A doesn’t go ahead, because one of the parties won’t agree to it, and you’ve no Plan B.
Mmmmm.

Timjim. I point out that in the majority of cases where a player has returned to a club for the second time it rarely works. I think Hoopers level is the SPL but I would prefer to go with Griffiths while we try to find a striker who is at least 6ft 2 ins and with good mobility. H.H.

I agree with you and I say again I know we will not see Gary back at Parkhead. Cheers
I see someone is trying to dump 3,600,000 Sevco shares, days before the BIG 20p launch!

Dont know all the facts, blame Celtic………………….cant be those nice players and they cuddly agents playing games
Hope you are well Ritchie keep an eye on your seat
From MTH’s earlier post (apologies for snip)>>> ‘of those Players not more than one shall not be an Under 21 Player…’
Does the double negative mean that all your loanees (except one) need to be an Under 21 Player? Or is it just the way I’m reading that? Or is it just that SPFL rules are deliberately written in gobbledegook so it’s easier to ignore or break them when it suits?
Joe Filippis Haircut He’d score goals, is well over 6.2 and mobile., get him for a snip. Nevermind scepovic
Agger to Brondby for £million when you look at the McArthur fee.
We didn’t learn our CL lesson after scraping through against The Karagandy Arms ,with a far better team than we have now.
#bestrunclubintheworld
Apologies, dodgy key board.
Agger to Brondby for £3million looks like good value when you look at the McArthur fee.

I’m afraid transfer deadline day brings out the worst in some folk.
On a personnel level I find most supporters I meet of good spirit, but on line there is a meaness of spirit afoot that I find discomforting.
Best avoided on this day but a reminder that for all our expressions of charity, when we are dissatisfied, it’s easily forgotten.

I’m not so sure I’m an expert!
“The ball is still in play, not panicking yet.”
I fully agree Paul, now is not the time to panic. The stress and antics would be both embarrassing and further contemptuous of our shredded reputation. No, the time to panic was the day Gary Hooper handed in his notice and nobody was capable of pulling Peter off his favourite slide.
Now we’re slinking from shadow to shadow in search of a striker.
How cool is that….
Chin up bhoys, after all, we’re all Celtic Supporters.
Smack!!
