There are truisms in life. The sun rises in the east and sets in the west, night follows day and Hibernian Football Club will not win the Scottish Cup. However, a failure to lift the trophy since Orville said to Wilbur, ‘I bet this thing gets off the ground’, does not guarantee subsequent failures. Hibs have already beaten Celtic this season and are perfectly capable of doing so again on Sunday.
Before this season Kilmarnock hadn’t won at Celtic Park since 1955, but it happened. St Johnstone, Motherwell, St Mirren, Inverness and Ross County beat us too. All these defeats were against the odds; no more so than Hibs are on Sunday.
Celtic need to get in touch with how they felt after their League Cup semi-final defeat to St Mirren, a day of so much regret. The 90 minutes will pass quickly, there’s no point leaving something in your locker for next week. Let’s get off to a flier.
Many thanks for sending over your Seville photographs, we are planning to pull photos and your comments on the event together into a special publication. If you have any more please send them in, celticquicknews@gmail.com.
Willie Wallace will be signing copies of his book at Waterstones on Sauchiehall St between 2pm and 4pm on Saturday, 25th May. Bet he knows what he was doing that very afternoon 46 years earlier. Get along to see him or order your own signed copy below. This is going to be a great weekend.

Celts,
Re the KANO 125 tee-total-athon:
First of all many thanks to those who have already donated to either Kitalba in Australia, Sannabhoy or myself. For those who don’t know, the Kano 125 is a group of CQN’ers who decided to go tee total for 125 days whilst putting away £1 per day, the idea was to gather the money and present it to the Celtic 1254125 charity in the name of Martin Kane (Kano) in Perth Australia, the 125 days ended on the 5th May and before I go any further I’ll let Kitalba who’s idea it was, say a few words:

Kano got sick one night, very sick. If it was not for so many Celtic Supporters, from so many places, then Kano would be an ornament in a sterile hospital room. That is not nice because Kano still breathes and he still thinks and he is still a Celtic Supporter to his very core.
A lot of money, by a lot of people, was raised to take Kano home. He can’t ever balance the books, but he’d love to.
None of us gets more than one go on the roundabout of life.
Celtic is celebrating their 125th Birthday and indelibly stamping it into their history by encouraging all to embrace the simple ethos of the clubs founding… let’s try and help those who just don’t have more than the air that they breathe.
A lot of Celtic Supporters are doing a lot of different things to raise money for to help those less fortunate than ourselves. To a lot of people that is no big deal.
I’m determined to help Kano pay back the kindness shown to him by the Celtic Support by supporting my club to help unfortunates. No big deal.
There are some from here who have said they will help me to help Kano to help Celtic to help others.
I will give up the bevie for 125 days and I give up posting on here for 125 days as of the 1st Jan. No big deal really, Kano has done both for the best part of four years.
I ‘m going to put a wee bit aside for each day that I don’t drink or post and forward it to Celtic to hopefully fill a belly that needs a feed or to make an unfortunate hope where only darkness is their dawn.(but maybe I can have St. Pat’s day off so I can share a day with some good Tims)
I’ve only one life and when I’m gone I will soon be forgotten, but if I’ve ever managed to feed one hungry person, if only for one day, then my life was worth something.
No big deal to me or you but the person I fed, he/she will never know where the food came from and they won’t ever be visiting my grave to put some pretty flowers at the base of a head-stone, they’ll be too busy worrying about tomorrow.
I can live with that and like Kano, once I’m gone, I’ll know that I never changed the world, hardly left a mark, but still I took to Celtic and I did something to try and ease the pain of others… sort of the Celtic way.
*****************
Nice post Kit,
To continue then, Kitalba has asked that I coordinate the monies and make one payment on everyones behalf to the Celtic 1254125, Paul67 has already supplied me with a name and I’ve been in contact with them.
The Kano Foundation have very kindly accepted a request to use their expertise and set up, to collect the monies into one central area.
Can I ask therefore, that all who took part in the Kano 125, and anyone else who committed to donate or now wish to donate, send their donations into the Kano Foundation via their website, its most important that you include “KANO 1254125” as a reference when making the payment so that all donations can be correctly accounted for.
Also you can pay at ANY bank using the following details:
Account: The Kano Foundation
Sort Code: 30 13 01
Account Number: 00989961
Can someone please repost for the late night session,Aussietims/ moonhowlers and I’ll do the early risers :¬)
Sorry for the long post but it’s for our friend Martin Kane in Australia, we should never forget him, he needs our love.

Morning all.
Starting X1 for Sunday?
I have no idea, but Neil has some very important decisions to make between now and then.
One thing I am sure of ‘tho is that Ogilvie and his minions will spend much of the week-end polishing their brass necks, ready for Sunday.
After they return from the all expenses paid junket to the CL final tomorrow of course – succulent lamb and the finest clarets on the menu no doubt.
HH!!
Morning Bhoys.
Cup Final weekend nearly upon us.
The double beckons.
I confidently predict 3 nil minimum

This whole saga has been avoidable and embarrassing for Scottish football. If we had a governing body who put half of the effort into what’s best for the game rather than pulling managers up for petty, nonsensical reasons, they would have had the whole sorry saga sorted months ago.
The irony, for me anyway, is that it looks like we have came to the most logical, workable conclusion. 22 full time professional teams is more than enough for a country of Scotland’s size and if the SPL1/SPL2 proposal goes through then its up to the SFA to sort out what’s below into regional leagues that can be promoted into the new 22 team set up on merit. Its a hostile takeover by the SPL, but due to the usual self interest from the small clubs (and to be fair the SPL/Div 1 clubs) and the inertia from the SFA this was necessary.

Deal ….ill see if Big Jon fancies it too
Kayal
Question which may seem obvious but I genuinely don’t know the answer.
Where does the dead club fit into these plans? Which league?

Good man. I’ll call you later re my 2 new horses. One will be going chasing. The other , a hurdler, is the son of hurricane run. Mind you, just cos Henk was a genius there’s no guarantee Henk jnr will be scoring 50 goals a season. Fingers crossed all the same.
Fat Sally …third div manager of the year
Jesus wept ….
Incidentally, for any horsey lovers out there, I was at the stables last week to watch my horses gallop and happened upon one of the Rothschild family who was also there. Told me that she had been speaking to mr Fallon and he described Walia as possibly the best horse he’s ever sat upon. Worth watching.
PF
On this occasion I cant agree.. I reckon jesus would lol
Looking forward to the smsm making the argument that its a tainted award due to lack of competition and finances

He failed to win 11 games from 36 in the lowest league in scottish football. Not to mention the cups, oops, I just did. Pitiful.
The Daily Record are so so desperate to paint our season as a disappointment bhoys
Below is their headline today based on an interview with big Pierre
Celtic’s season will be a disappointment without a final victory
What Pierre actually said
“If you lift only one trophy this year, I think people will see it as a bit of a disappointment”
Spot the difference
They really are trying hard to make us think we are as disappointed as the govanites
TnT
Looked up the horse you mentioned but cant get any info , is that definitely the spelling ?
Sally gets his first managers award, a plastic picnic plate.
He looks ever so chuffed too
I hope he keeps it away from the mantelpiece it might melt

Celtic legend Pierre Van Hooijdonk: Rangers nicked the SPL title in 95-96 with stars they couldn’t afford
THE former Celtic striker says he isn’t sorry for what’s happened to Rangers as the club deserves its downfall after spending too much.
PIERRE VAN HOOIJDONK last night claimed Rangers had been guilty of financial doping as he compared them to Tour de France drug cheats.
The former Celtic striker has no sympathy for the Ibrox side after watching them tumble to the Third Division following a financial implosion. The Dutchman was part of the Hoops side that finished second to the big-spending Ibrox club in 1996 – despite losing just one game all season.
Van Hooijdonk claims the sums Gers spent on stars they couldn’t really afford gave them an unfair advantage.
And he reckons that sowed the seeds for their eventual descent into administration then liquidation.
He said: “I’m not sorry for Rangers. I’m sorry for a lot of things missing from Scottish football now.
“But they spent too much. They made their mistakes.
“People can say we went a season and lost once while David Murray was signing players he could not afford.
“I agree. I know why people would say that.
“But is it the same as Floyd Landis winning the Tour de France because of doping?
“Is there a similarity there? If you are number two do you say you should have won the Tour de France? Maybe, I can see why they say that.”
But van Hooijdonk admits Gers haven’t been the only club guilty of overspending.
He said: “In football there are so many other clubs who did the same as Rangers.
“In Spain there are a lot of teams in debt. But in Holland if you are £1million in debt that’s you finished.
“Across Europe there are no rules which say you are allowed to have, say, just £500,000 of football debt.
“It’s completely unregulated. And that’s why football has never been a completely honest competition.”
The 43-year-old believes there should be no forgiveness for clubs in a financial mess.
He said: “Rangers made their mistakes and they have to pay for them – like many other clubs these days.
“I say to my Dutch friends who played for Rangers that they should help.
“We lost two clubs from the Dutch First Division this year. It’s a pity but if you do the crime you must do the time.”

Morning,
Funny how the MSM ran the story yesterday that Pierre said not winning the cup would be a disaster for Celtic with there being no Sevco in the SPL but failed to mention he branded rangers cheats who deserved everything they get.
I also see Charlotte is now turning the spotlight on the compliant laptop loyal.
Ohits
If you get my mail addy from Paul or any of the cqn ers who know us both, drop me a line. I might be able to help with advice and costs. Might surprise you.

Thanks. I thought that but was confused as to what their path back to the top becomes if they end up within some breakaway faction so to speak. To be honest I’ve lost track of wtf is going on with the Spl/Sfl. Been away working and catching snippets here and there.

Thanks. See earlier posts. Hamilton?

Celtics FUTURE looks incredible IMO.
Fair play to Pierre… although I expect he probably did mention thems was deid, and was edited out… I noticed they went with the “tumbling down to Division three guff”
My favourite Pierre story… A old mate of mines’ Sister (from Finglas in Dublin) was in the Canaries for holiday and met big Pierre who told her he was a painter and decorator in Glasgow… She didn’t know why he was so popular other than his “looks” until she showed off her picture with him to me!
Unfortuantely, there are no little Pierre running about Dublin (From that tryst anyway!)
Pity Pierre lost his way when he left us for Forrest… going on strike… Imagine him and Henke in the same team!?

I think the fair meeting is the Friday after. The 19th. We are looking at sat the 13th.
