Look out for Cease and Desist orders

1238

The first thing you do when you raise an asset dispute is issue a Cease and Desist notice.  Inform the other party to stop using your asset, whether it is a piece of intellectual property, like a logo or badge, a piece of equipment or a physical property.

In conjunction with this you also ask for all monies collected in connection with your property to be forward to you.  Football clubs, for example, regularly instruct people, who produce merchandise with unauthorised copies of their club crests, to stop doing so, destroy all unused stock and send them whatever money earned from earlier sales.

If and when a claim reaches court, the first request to the judge is likely to be to freeze use of all assets and cough up cash from sales. Keep your eyes peeled…

CQN Nine-in-a-row Charity Golf Day 2013

Our Annual Charity Golf Day 2013 will take place on Friday 14th June at Aberdour Golf Club.  This is our 9th annual event and I’m delighted to announce that Lisbon Lion and nine-in-a-row striker, Willie Wallace, will be our guest of honour.

After winning everything available to him in Europe, Willie made a new life for himself in Australia, where he established a second career in the game, while retaining strong links to the Celtic ex-pat community.

We will be raising funds for the 125-4-125 appeal, while encouraging all Celtic fans to get involved and stake their claim on what this club is all about.  Cost for the day’s golf and the evening meal and entertainment is £80.  Cost for non-golfers is £45.

The Annual Charity Golf Day is always oversubscribed so get your application for a place in early by emailing, cqnopen2013@gmx.com.

Look forward to seeing you there.

I had a double take there.

“Opening gay bars outside the ground is a gold mine…”

The gazebo has always reflected the inclusive ethos at the heart of the club, although Bournesouprecipe did try to ban stiletto heels for all but the dancers on H&S grounds. The membership voted the proposal down, under the banner “Equality for Goldstar10”

  3. Livibhoy @16:36 I understand where you’re coming from but the EPL does show a phenomenal ability to defy the doomsayers and raise ever more sponsorship.

Arsenal’s sale of 10 yrs naming rights to their stadium for £100m was jaw dropping at the time. Now it looks like they got done.

As long as EPL teams can pay the interest on the debts and show able to make capital repayments the show will go on.

Many of the loans carry huge interest and commission payments to entities close to the owners.

I was waiting for that. I meant bars that open for match days.

Day bars doesn’t sound great though.

  7. Celtic captain Scott Brown has an eye on returning to action in time for the Scottish Cup final on 26 May.

However, the 27-year-old concedes it will be difficult as he recovers from surgery on an abductor problem.

“I’m still a wee bit from training but, if everything goes well, hopefully I’ll be back for the cup final (against Hibs),” said the midfielder.

“That’s my target but it will be touch and go. It’s going to be hard to get some game time in before it as well.”

And the Glasgow side will be missing central midfielders Victor Wanyama and Beram Kayal through suspension for the end-of-season finale.

Brown has not played since mid-February but insists he has a chance of featuring again his former club in the Scottish Cup final.

“I’m feeling quite good, I’ve been back running,” revealed the Scotland international.

“It’s been four weeks since the operation now and I will take things slowly. Running in straight lines.

“I know we have a couple of lads out, but we have a big squad that can deal with that.

“It will be the manager’s decision. He will see me in training in the weeks leading up to it.

“I would need to be honest as it would take a place away from someone who is 100% fit, especially with me not playing in so long.

“The next couple of weeks will be huge for me to see if I can make that push for the cup final.”

Celtic need a point from Sunday’s meeting with Inverness CT to wrap up the Scottish Premier League title, although the celebrations could start early if closest rivals Motherwell fail to win at Dundee United on Friday.

Brown would have preferred it if the post-split fixtures had been arranged with a match against the Steelmen and admitted the scheduling was puzzling.

“It would be a little disappointing if they [Motherwell] get beat and it’s already over by Sunday,” he said.

“Here’s hoping they can do it and we can win it on Sunday. I would rather do that.”

  9. A TEENAGE football fan was arrested after shouting abuse at Celtic manager Neil Lennon, a court has heard.

Dylan Chambers, 17, was taken into custody moments after seeing Hearts lose 4-0 to Celtic at Edinburgh’s Tynecastle stadium in November 2012.

The city’s sheriff court was told how police heard the apprentice electrician scream abuse at Lennon.

Chambers berated the former Northern Irish international made his way back to the Celtic team coach following the match.

Officers immediately arrested Chambers and the first offender spent the night in custody.

Today the court heard that when policemen cautioned Chambers that he may have committed an offence under the Offensive Behaviour at Football and Threatening Communications Act, he replied: “Sorry.”

The story emerged following a hearing at the sheriff court in which Chambers, of Ingliston, Edinburgh, pleaded guilty to committing an offence under the recently passed legislation on November 28 last year.

Mr Chambers made pleaded guilty to making remarks that were likely to cause offence.

Defence solicitor Victoria Good told the court that her client earned £200 per week and was in a position to pay a financial penalty.

Sheriff Noble deferred sentence on Chambers in order for the court to obtain a report about his character.

He will be sentenced on May 16.

T’was thinking that was good, thought he was backing off the rush to get Sevco fasttracked up the League.

You ever watch the players’ coaches arriving at CP?

    Charges to follow?

The guy shouted at NFL after a match and at the stadium.

    Utterly ridiculous.

  20. As far as season ticket sales go, why not just keep the price the same (or even have a small increase), but include any home European games. If this was heavily publcised and promoted as the only way to get into these matches, you’d get a lot of folk renewing or signing up at this stage

It was no bother getting 60,000 people to pay the best part of £150 for 4 home matches (group stage and Juventus) so why not throw in the SPL games for an extra £300 – at £15 a game thats decent value. Fair enough we’d lose out on the extra gate money at CL group stage time, but surely the club would rather have more money up front at the start of the season?

  21. The SFA resort to the default position, dearie me is there is no end to their incompetence, is there no end to this onslaught against Neil Lennon?

They stand back and watch as the greatest fraud in footballing history unfolds and do nothing, they have systematically torn up their rule book to assist frauds and cheats take their place in competitive sport, they have no shame.

Once again I look to the Board of Celtic Football Club to respond in a fitting manner, the time is now Peter, the time is now.
