Losers of the Durrant outburst

450

Who are the losers from the recent Ian Durrant outburst?  It’s certainly not the Pope, nor any his co-religious.  I don’t even know if it will be Durant himself, who, incredibly, “meant to cause no offense”. Durrant’s status, whatever it is worth, will be assured by what happened.

The consequences will be imperceptible, part of a slow drift of affinity away from a football affinity which was once elevated by such sentiment and, in the 21st century, limited by it.  Sponsors are not the first to leave, it’s the fans with more between their ears than Durrant. The losers are the club and fans.

On the money. Rat hates the Celtic.

Shall we shut his book of condolence now ?

  3. Sorry to turn the conversation towards Sevco but have I understood the situation regarding their retail operations correctly, i.e. –

    > they were unhappy selling the kits through Sports Direct and struck some sort of deal with JD Sports (or similar)

    > Mike Ashley stepped in to say that, contractually they couldn’t do that so no such sales went ahead.

    > About 6 weeks ago Sevco suddenly announces that matters had been resolved and supporters could buy their kit, but only through an online retailer

    >Their supporters bombarded the online facility but stock quickly ran out and this is where I’m unclear – did loads of supporters still order online (and pay) on the basis that there’d be more stock soon – BUT with today;s decision that’s now not going to be possible??

If I’m correct I’m sure that Sevco will be working 24/7 to make all the necessary refunds to their loyal out of pocket fans…

Just reading back now and the support and prayers for our very own

CQN friend Murdoch Auld and Hay is something only this blog imo

    can achieve.

When we are all together our faith is unbreakable.

    Best of luck Stephen.

Now here’s something else you can all be proud of.

    Oz tims and peninsula lurkers.

As you know our CSC here in Oz have taken on a fundraiser for Charlotte

This Sunday in the Bay Hotel ( Publican ) a special event will be held to

raise the required $ 20,000 to give this family a better quality of life.

A remarkable $ 18,000 already raised through the tireless efforts of our

committee and members, so be there early for a special day with music

from Ex castlemilk bhoy Tam Spalding and our very own big rebel Richie

both playing for free to help the cause.

Angelmans disease also referred to as happy puppet syndrome is not

something i’m familiar with but i can tell you this ordinary Aussie family

are so in awe of a Celtic club and it’s people prepared to give them the

time and much needed support to help.

I was there that day too and raised the subject with Bertie when he was in Sydney.

    Completely accidental , said Bertie.

Davie Provan ? Lovely guy , said Bertie.

    I had to disagree.

At a different game at Ibrox , when Kai Johanssen scored a cracker at the hun end , Divie Provan returned to his left back berth at the Celtic end and , facing our support , gave us all the double handed two finger salute.

The Durrant syndrome. Superficially a nice guy , but scratch the surface ………………….

I admire your Christian values KL – “do unto others” and all that but I have to say that I would do Naismith without batting an eyelid. He gives it out, he has to take it back. I don’t wish him any serious illness but I do want a Celt to let him know that he can’t dish it out with impunity and go right through the sleekit twat.

Anyway, on to more serious matters. I don’t know MA&H or any of you bhoys who regularly socialise through CQN but for what it’s worth my prayers are with you and I hope you have a great day on Saturday.

Provan had just laid Jinky out in a tackle and the ball broke towards the touchline.

In the race for the ball, Bertie arrived a fraction of a second ahead of Davy, but, unfortunately, didn’t get a clean touch on the ball.?

Re Naismith,I’m with MARSPAPA and SID1888 on this.

If Naismith had only been guilty of a mistimed tackle,I wouldn’t feel the same way,but he’s not. He is a malicious and vicious wee thug, with a complete disregard for the damage he is trying to inflict on members of his own profession.

You would think he would know better, having missed a hefty chunk of time due to a serious knee injury when he was younger.

Then I remember how that came about-at least his third dreadful tackle v Aberdeen,he should already have been off the park. Karma fired it right into him,and I hope Karma is holding some back for Sunday.
