McCoist at odds with hero Whyte

979

We all know Craig Whyte doesn’t get nearly enough credit for the wonderful job he is doing for Scottish football but his cause was not helped by rookie manager, Ally McCoist, who when asked today if Nikica Jelavic asked to leave Rangers said, “No he didn’t, not at all. I have a wonderful relationship with Nikica. He never said that.”

The Rangers manager then passed the buck onto the unfairly beleaguered club owner, telling STV, “We received a bid from Everton which Craig [Whyte] found acceptable. Therefore business was done.”

McCoist refused to take a manager’s responsibility for deciding who leaves the football club.  Craig Whyte made it clear to all concerned yesterday that Nikica Jelavic wanted to leave Rangers and there was no point keeping a player who didn’t want to be there.  Whyte needs the backing of everyone with the best interests of Scottish football at heart, including his manager.  The intrusive scrutiny he has been placed under in recent months will not help him achieve his objectives.

Whyte hasn’t put a foot wrong so far, we should all mind our own business and let him get on with his job. Eye on the prize, Craig.

Mullet – I was winding TTT up, but I remember back in the days when Cleats was the Cowal and the Apprentice Boys flute band played in the bar downstairs. Plenty of Huns in Greenock, as I’m sure you know, but they tend to keep a lower profile in the Port!

Not getting carried away but keep a few cheeky bottles in reserve.

Things are looking good in all directions but let’s not be complacent.

Would someone please tell me who benefits at this time, when our neighbours are self-destructing from every side, from our internal sniping at Dermot Desmoond, Peter Lawwell and the Celtic Board, when all we need to do is to stick together and support our team all the way to the Championship. Surely this is what Celtic supporters are all about. Let’s ALL get behind our team for 90 minutes to-morrow and beyond.

No shame, just a very bad memory, I blame the wine :>)

I could have bullcraped and said otherwise, but now you mentioned bfdj and KK the grey matter did have a wee jolt, didn’t and still can’t recall him, as I said I will look him up, and I’m sure it will come back to me.

    Thanks again.

Earlier in the season it was imperative Celtic fans stood shoulder to shoulder with Neil Lennon, even if it mean’t we won nothing this season. Celtic fans stood with Neil and we are about to reap the benefit of not expecting to win anything by, IMO, winning everything. Keeping the Faith Big Chap, Keeping the Wonderful Faith.

Joe McBride claimed John Rafferty was the best ever journalist, as in an article in The Scotsman in the late ’60’s, he compared him to Denis Law.

Good enough for Joe, good enough for me.

Would you consider laying DU at the lower odds, then betting them for the same amount at the higher odds just before kickoff.

yes I would., if I was betting enough money to make it worthwhile…which I’m not.

However, I totally endorse your thinking. often wait until a game’s underway and then bet on the favourite after 10 mins, if the score’s still 0-0 of course. Been good for us this season as we don;t often score early in a game.

Ps. Google… John Rafferty Journalist & John Rafferty Sports Journalist. Yes, the good looking black & white picture of him with the wavey hair. Great man.

    Night.

  17. tommytwiststommyturns, I am from the Port. I only live in Goorock.

Once upon a time I visited Cleats for the second half of a huns game and got chucked out for chearing on whoever they were playing. Shaven headed overweight not very handsome. Can’t imagine what it will be like in there when their team spontaneously combust.

Still two buses leave from the vic bar but then there is always montys, the royale club and the hoose. The folk what are decendants of the chaps that run fergusons dont appreciate my elaborate celebrations. I am sure they won’t like the Rangers are deed party I am planning.
