Milan’s mistake with their Champions League squad – they inadvertently included Stephan El Shaarawy in their restricted A List of players, instead of the B List, denying a place in either list for M’Baye Niang, is welcome news. Their squad is strong, with or without Niang, but the oversight lends credence to the notion that a malaise has settled over the club. Director, Umberto Gandini apologised, but already the Milanese are focused on what they don’t have in their armory as a result of the oversight – an excuse for failure is ready made.
I met the owner of an IT company shortly before they went into liquidation and asked him who he had on his board. “Are you not on our board too?” was his jocular response. The company had already gone through a couple of difficult years. The chief exec understood the industry and, left to his own devices, stood a sporting chance at survival, but when the boardroom table became occupied by a parcel of rogues the game was up.
On a completely separate matter, I am delighted at the prospect of Paul Murray and John McClelland having a second shot at being a non-executive director of a football club. Wikipedia’s definition of the roles of a non-exec is worth a cursory glance to indicate why. They did so well last time. The others, who it is proposed will share a place at Newco’s table, also appear perfect for the role. If only Sir David would come out of retirement and join them.
Will one of the many directors insist that The Rangers Football Club Ltd submits its Annual Return to Companies House? Under its previous name, Sevco Scotland Ltd, The Rangers Football Club Ltd bought liquidation assets from Duff and Phelps, and which, according to Rangers International’ PLC’s interim financial statement in March, was incorporated into the PLC’s group.
The Return is over two months late. Perhaps, with so many directors available for comment, one will be asked by a journalist or shareholder why the company which bought all the assets has not submitted basic information, revealing ownership details. Perhaps not. No hurry, a striking off notice will be weeks away.

What I don’t understand about the sevco shambles……
If ticketus, or a n other own the deeds, what the eff are they all fighting over in their usual dignified way?

Only an AGM, EGM can change anything and none of them want that as the true picture would be revealed to them,

“However we have also made it clear that, in accordance with the CLUB’S articles of association, all directors, both existing and new, have to offer themselves up for re-election at a vote at the AGM.
“We believe that this is fair and gives all shareholders the opportunity of voting for who they want on the board.
“We agreed this position with the board on Tuesday and were therefore surprised to see the statement issued by the CLUB on Wednesday night which seemed to suggest that any agreement was conditional on a ‘vote of confidence’ in the current board members now and on a continuing basis.
“We wish to make it clear that this is contrary to our understanding of the agreement we had with the board.
“Whilst we believe that the proposed changes will make the board more effective and balanced, it is for the shareholders to vote on the re-election of all directors at the AGM.”
So it seems that the CLUB and the COMPANY are one and the same after all!

If The Rangers sign Zaliukas then they will have a first team pool of 28 players.
The EPL have a limit of 25 players for the first team, which would appear to be sufficient to cover any issues in the best league in the world, but obviously not for a SPFL 3 club.
McColl can bump his gums all day/week/month no one cares he is not in any position to change anything, the board who are registerd at the stoke market are the kiddies, they control everything, and one Ticketus have what they want, THEN they will through back what is left of the carcass for the vultures and spivs, this is why they are all jockeying for position IMO .
I’ve just had a conspiracy thought regarding the whole AGM/EGM , vote/no vote of confidence saga .
Do you think the current board are stalling/spinning things out to eventually say – “well , it’s only 4/5 weeks until the AGM , what’s the point of having an EGM 1/2 weeks before it?”
If that’s the case , they would effectively buy themselves another 5-6 weeks . The original request came in on 2nd august . it’s now 5 weeks later and still no agreement . they have promised a decision by 9/9 . based on a 3 week lead time ( given the requirement to prepare EGM pack (because of course they wouldn’t have put any proviso in place for this !)) that takes us to , mmmmm , 30/9 . “So , listen guys , what’s the point ? Let’s just roll them all into 1 to be held on 14th October ?”
Anyone want to place a bet on how close to 31/10 the AGM takes place – if at all ?

Strikes me McColl is attempting to gain a position of influence for the minimal amount of risk. Once he has that influence he and can shape the agenda and may consider putting money in at that point. Not necessarily his own money of course.

From personal experience getting the hotel and flights direct from ba was good for me. Especially as I had the option of adding the tourist extras: hop on tourist bus, circle line tickets, Ellis island etc. Ended up in a hotel in midtown. Very nice. Midtown is handy for everything.

The 5 stars thing annoys me not because they cheated their way to 50 titles, and not because they are wearing the stars of a dead club; but why do they have them in the first place? No other club has stars for league titles that I’m aware of? What would happen if they had won 60+ would they keep adding stars?

NEWCO 1 owns the tangible assets (ie Wave Tower sort of thing)
NEWCO 2 inherits the the “football franchise” (ie sevco sort of thing)
Ticketus secure a fixed charge on the tangible assets of NEWCO 1 and its successors
Whyte controls the NEWCO 1 and successors that owns the bricks and has given a fixed charge on those bricks plus a personal liability.
Essentially Ticketus owns the bricks where any future ORCO FC will play and will get their money with interest one way or another, either from ticket revenue or a real estate development. Any shortfall in monies will be made up personally by WHYTE.
End game………WHYTE to be bankrupted and assets seized with the bricks owned by Ticketus until they have had their pound of flesh……..money which will never be invested in the football franchise.
