Missing Organ Grinder

1063

It took a late goal from Anthony Stokes to secure Celtic’s win at Tannadice in August.  That led to a five match unbeaten run for Dundee United, which ended two weeks ago at Pittodrie before Inverness knocked 10-man United out of the League Cup on Tuesday with a 120th minute goal.

Jackie McNamara has stabilised his team and they are likely to finish in the top three this season, but the defeat on Tuesday, which led to a storm of controversy over the behaviour of Nadir Ciftci, will be a major challenge ahead of United’s trip to Celtic Park.  The champions should win comfortably.

There was little glibness evident in The Herald’s sombre interview with Dave King, published this morning.  Despite apparently getting along famously with antagonists on either of Rangers International shareholding, he was unable to reach a deal, perhaps because he didn’t speak to the Organ Grinder behind the club playing in Rangers colours.

Indeed, neither King, nor anyone else trying to oust, or do a deal with, the current board, knows the ultimate beneficiary behind Blue Pitch Holdings et al.  Is it you?  It’s not me, but I suppose that’s what everyone is saying right now.

That question, is the only show in town.

King wrapped up his comments to The Herald by saying “Over the last two years we have all witnessed the destructive value when individuals, who should be putting the club first, advance personal agendas through the media in an attempt to influence the most important stakeholder in Rangers Football Club – the fans”.

Self-awareness is a rare thing.

Mr King is 100% correct on the destructive influence those who have divided his new favourite club have had.  Without the modestly self-named Blue Knights causing ultimately unproductive havoc, Charles Green’s consortium would surely not have over-paid and under-charged, leading to the situation King believes could lead to administration.  The question now for those on the outside is, do they have the votes, or are they just peeing on the Broxy Bear Burgers?

  5. Birthday family parties are great. My late brother John adored Belfast Celtic and the Glasgow Celtic. After Belfast Celtic went out of the league he then had Celtic to follow. If they got beat he would come home, take no dinner, and go straight to bed.My abiding memory is of watching the European Cup final with him in Farry’s pub on the Falls Road. Even when Inter went one up he was telling all and sundry that Celtic were still the best team in Europe (as they proved). So get all the stories you can from the oul’ fellas (and I’m one myself now). They are worth preserving. So here’s to BRTH and his da having a great time with the football stories and all the rest.

    Oh—and Celtic to win 3-0.

The constant troubles, travails and humiliation of the new club is great. Fun-Fun-Fun at the peepul’s trials, but richly deserved given their previous and inability to learn from experience. But the identity of who is behind Blue Pitch Holdings is their worst nightmare. At the moment the are sticking their heads in the sand scared to look.

But who is it, Craigy Green and Whyte or worse…….

Imagine their horror if Blue Pitch are Tims.

  13. celtic have a wage ceiling in line with income to output. the only safe and prudent way to increase that wage ceiling is to increase regular income.

inho celtic are not even close to reaching the potential income it could from the supporters that attend the stadium, in and out of match days. our stadium offers very little income or opportunities to spend and we lack even the very basic facilities for visitors to our stadium envois. I hope to ghod our club will have

    Your tone suggested something different.

Does being an unquestioning Celtic supporter somehow make you more of a Celtic supporter than one who asks those questions?

I think not. You may think otherwise.

I still recall my dad holding me up to see Bobby Evans lifting the 1956 league cup and telling me I would remember that moment for the rest of my life…he was right, of course…our last game together was v Vojvodina in 1967…enjoy your day!

Congrats to your Dad and your Celtic family, I remember that saying about half of Whitecrook but it should have been 95% of Whitecrook and maybe more!

My Dad started taking me in the mid 60’s via Hunter & Curries for our pie and beans before the trip across to Clydebank Central and up to Bridgeton, many a happy day spent watching the Lions and beyond. Lying in bed tonight in Karratha in WA hoping for a good result when I get up at 0430 in the morning.
