Neil Lennon era ends

1817

Neil Lennon ‘got’ Celtic.  He was a rookie appointment, and the early weeks were far from comfortable, a Hampden defeat to Ross County looked like an ominous early sign, but from the start of his first preseason he didn’t look back.

He was a hugely successful Celtic manager in Scotland and in Europe.  The Barcelona team of the last six years, possibly the greatest team in history, were at their peak when they visited Celtic Park in November 2012. Neil came up with the game plan which brought Celtic victory and raised our profile across Europe.

What he had to endure off-field during his time at Celtic was atrocious and a blight on our society.  But he overcame it.  He stuck it out when you or I may have left, and now he leaves on his own terms – an undisputed winner.

More at another time on who next, but if we get a man nearly as capable we will be doing well.

Take care, Neil.

Today eclipses Kenny Dalglish being sold for buttons and the big man getting the celtic pools gig.

Peter Lawwell should do the honourabke thing …if he is a Celtic fan and resign

If he was so good he would have left ages ago.

Oops sorry he is doing this solely for his love of Celtic

Oops wait a minute no.he is doing what he is paid to do and he is just a high paid lackey

I thought that debacle would have been the final straw but as I say he is a remarkable man. I disagreed with him on many a football decision but I could never question his courage. His bravery, determination and success added to the zombie’s misery.

00:32 on 23 May, 2014Roy Croppie, I wanted Neil Lennon to walk away after he was let down so badly by the justice system after the Tynecastle attack. I’m glad he stayed and faced down the hatred. He’s made of stern stuff. My boy was sitting an exam this afternoon. He got home a four o’clock and I told him the news, he was gutted and I thought he was going to cry. His first words after the initial silence were “at least he’s well shot of the bigoted bastards now”.From the mouth of a boy I’ve brought up without religion or prejudice and have encouraged to make his own mind up on every aspect of his life.He saw it for what it was. I’m proud of that boy.

Add in the issue that the outlying grasslands — large parts of 1954 Ukraine — were harvested by the Crimean Tartars for slaves for 300 / 400 years.

Muscovite Russia grew in strength because it was north of the tree line where the Tartar raiding parties were at a disadvantage.

On the subject of slaves the trade by the Tartars was more disgusting than the Atlantic slave trade.

Just a case that the Western Europeans were more industrial and raised the price generating more profits for the West African elite to up their productivity and generate / provide more slaves for the New World.

Thank You Neil, for the monumental job you done for Celtic.

Celtic, were very Lucky to have you as our Leader.

Very sad Neil is going and I’m not sure anything, well…. “Will it ever Be the same again” for him, who knows, maybe even for us?

    Straight outta leftfield……

We had the Original Leftfield in Neil and his appointment.

I was not happy with the support Neil got last Summer, when he really needed it, thanks to his Brilliance he got us into the Champions League, IMO, you can write it off for this season now, unfortunately – I sincerely hope I am wrong.

One of the Many things Neil Lennon is, is that he is a Team Player and even now, despite it most definitely hurting him Leaving Celtic, he will do as much as he can for his successor.

We need to do or should have done a controlled experiment.

When NL was in the EPL he never made the headlines– Why.

RS stupid — he took all the flack and the abuse.

When NL came up and got all the abuse — MON should have brought in RS.

If RS took all the abuse then all is well — the same emotions were in play.

If NL continued to get the abuse then we were truly witnessing anti “Catholic” — not anti Irish — bile.

I think they are / were bottom feeders and cheapshot merchants who were attracted by the noise / spectacle.

More worrying were all the interweb scum who claimed they witnessed NL starting the fight.

That is my gist, nationalism in Europe/Asia is very complicated over time but..

Sometimes a choice is needed and i say the Ukrainians went right and Crimea went left and the music stops..

Nothing that has happened there over the years(as you state) is ever good as round our isles.

Read some stats recently on civil war deaths post great war.

Ireland lost way less in indo and civil war than the finnish civil war (post great war), same population.

In contrast , ireland lost the same percentage at gallipoli as the anzacs . But no-one praised then due to politics back home

Neil Lennon, unfortunately for him and his family, was a hate figure for those of an extreme protestant/loyalist culture in Scotland. He was everything they despised-no matter how uncomfortable that was for the SMSM to report-and the physical assaults graduated to acts of terrorism. Unbelievable!

His victim-hood shone a bright light on these bigots and he has to be commended for this but he and his family deserve some peace.

His treatment really questioned the ‘oh it’s a minority’ brigade.’ I was sick of hearing the myth he brought it on himself.

Desmond appointed 3 out of the last 4 the last managers.

Gus Hiddink was the boards choice, he gave an on camera interview saying he was ready to move to Deltic, then DD got involved and MON was offered the job he asked for.

He approached WGS at a social function and offered him the job.

    It’s all documented.

It’s his ba’. Don’t kid yourself it’s a collective decision.
