As a rule, I don’t like managers complaining about the pitch, the weather (Barbara is blowing in Hamilton right now), the ball or anything else prior to a game. Experience suggests if you give players an excuse to underperform, they’ll grab it with both hands.
The pitch at the Superseal (save us) Stadium Hamilton is more than adequate for a football match, let’s get on with it.
After a run of solid results Accies came off the rails in the last two games, losing narrowly to the top two: 1-0 away to Celtic then 1-2 to Newco in Hamilton. These are not the games which are important for Hamilton but losing twice by a single goal will sting. Barricades will be reinforced for Celtic tomorrow.
Brendan Rodgers has managed his squad subliminally well this month, resting players throughout but still putting a team on the field to win all, apart from the 1-1 away in the Champions League. He’ll know that anything less than 100% tomorrow brings the real risk of dropped points, so I’m far from sure he’ll be in the mood to rest anyone.
It’s been a couple of weeks since we saw images of Kieran Tierney back training. When he went through his operation we were told it would be January before we’d see him back, but he’s a fit lad, I wonder if he’ll be ready for 20 minutes on the magnificently smooth Lanarkshire surface.

Emeraldbee/ Still Proud To Be An Internet Bampot-nice story mhate, first game my dad took me to was king kennys testimonial:-)))
Also, it was a clear penalty so get it up ye Craigan.
Jobo, would you have wanted that one if Moussa or Griffo had gone down?
Madhun is still a fud, of course.
FairhillBhoy,
Luckily I had an uncle that was more ‘proactive’ in supporting the Celtic and took me to paradise with my cousin.
From such small things do giant causes grow!

I type of my two nephews on here just because I can, the “gift of Celtic” which both our fathers have obviously instilled in our minds….the other night my nephew sent me a text from Twitter or wherever …. (this is the only place I have ever posted) it was along the lines of our fathers, uncles or whatever have passed on the gift of Celtic, it was a cracking wee verse, he is now in his 30s with 2 grown up children and sent that text too me…… I loved it
Celtic (& this blog) will always do far more than good
Talking about good stuff……
Melbourne Mick a big Hail Hail from ML5 keep up the good Celtic stuff, a credit to our club
Another clear penalty
Emeraldbee
That was the point I was making. When defenders or goalies “get in the way” it gives the ref a decision to make. I dont think either penalty was a penalty! But equally I can see why they were given and, yes, I’d have shouted for both if we were the attacking team. Good tv so far!
My old Da was never a big football fan but as I nagged him he gave in and took me to see the famous Glasgow Celtic.
First ever game at Rugby Park , early 1966 I think. Huge crowd as I remember and we drew, I think. My Da had a ” golden ticket “. that allowed free entry otherwise we could never have afforded it. Can’t say anything more.
The next season, for my birthday , my present was a ticket for the Vojvodina game! How chuffed was I , only two lads in my class were at the game and I was one of them.
The next game was the semi final and on we rolled.
My Da had a contact through work and we attended all the great European nights , such memories We could never afford the tickets, my Da just sourced them. Highlights would be the Leeds game at Hampden, Easter Rd for 8 in a row and unfortunately Atletico Madrid.
He now listens to games on radio as he is blind and unable to attend. He now considers himself a Celtic fan, I am probably to blame , by God it was a fun time educating him.

Emeraldbee/Still Proud To Be An Internet Bampot-I wasn’t alowed to paradise until the season after love st,so made do with Accies, big Worzel and brogan where my favs
So just need 1 goal, 4 cards and 7 corners….
Fairhill Bhoy,
Am proud to say that my two lhads are Tims to the core. Unfortunately one of them has two boys (the other has two girls) 9 and 7 year old, who are utterly disinterested in football (I blame the English-born mother, God love her) and despite my best efforts have no great love for the game. At least both of them sing along with me and finish the COYBIG chant!
I will, of course, keep working on them (and the girls).
JOBO BALDIE/ if you pray wealy wealy hard:-))
2 penalties def. contact, wee SCOTTY what a goal.?????????

I don’t think you are too far off payout! Another goal looks likely, corners amass fairly quickly, and the Madhun most know the identity of the various Timmy-types on the park so a few cards for them are hardly unthinkable.
Not that I’m paranoid or anything!
Best of luck with the bet!

Brilliant stuff
emerald bee here is the Twitter text from my nephew (to me not his dad my big brother :-)
“We handed our stories of Celtic on to the next generation as if it was the most valuable thing we had to give our children. In some ways it was, it was the green thread which ran through the fabric of our lives, it was and is part of us, part of who we are and we should thank those dads, uncles, and mothers who taught us to love Celtic. It was a fine gift they bequeathed us”
Most importantly the text ended……. Cheers uncle
Some might decry, some might think corny, I love it it and that’s my Celtic, passed down from generations (even when we aren’t winning…..sometimes those times are magic as well :-)
McDonald’s goal was a belter
As expected my half time Deep Pan Crisp and Even pizza is doing the biz.
For those wanting to pass the time during the Murderwell v. Aberdont break you should try this read from James Forrest.

JMCCORMICK
If we are telling ‘stories’ I remember when I was a ‘poor’ student and was always struggling to travel to games. I eventually persuaded my (soon to be) brother-in-law to go to the Celtic v. Benfica game.
It remains the most embarrassing football memory of my life. Big Tam scores in the first minute and he asks me has the game started yet. By the time of the third goal, and this 6 foot+ eejit has been pummelled up and down the Celtic end, he turns and shouts (above the din) “I hope there are no more goals!”
First and last game.
My boy who is now 26 years old was born in London and moved to New York at 5.
A bigger Tim you could not me.
We talk about Celtic all the time.
He has taken friends from USA to Celtic park to let them sample the atmosphere.
The language barrier was difficult for them but they are all Tims for life.
Two years ago he was back in Scotland with his girlfriend to show her the country.
On his return he bought a Celtic onesie and wore it around Glasgow airport and on the plane home.
He sent me some pics of beeling huns and his big F**K you grin in the airport lounge.
EMERALD BEE.
Yep, the Da took me that Bihar game as well. In the old enclosure. What a great night.
Emeraldbee-I have three grandchildren, the oldest two will be five nxt year, one of each, the boys dad will do his best to follow the good guys.my granddaughters daddy is a season ticket holder at ibroke,so not holding out much hope for my wee darling:-))))
