This game is winnable, the tie is winnable. Bodo/Glimt remain preseason, they will end the game as tired as they looked last week and would find extra-time an impossible endurance. Celtic can and must play far better than they did in the first leg. They lost, because they were poor and made the wrong selection decisions. This is not a time for flamboyant midfield experimentation, start with our strongest 11, pass the ball with speed and we should find pockets of Arctic space denied to us last week.
If the score is 0-0 at 60 minutes the tie will still be there for us. These are the challenges players get into the game to face. It is a great opportunity for so many in this new Celtic side. Bring it on.

I most certainly can – the most notable & senior being Alex Salmond. He was interviewed on The Royal Mile, either the day before the vote, or, the day previous, announcing it loud and clear. It was a mantra repeated by Sturgeon and a few others that were out campaigning ‘at the death’. Of course they didn’t know that they would become a ‘hostage to fortune’…they thought they were going to win!
(I am sure a bit of digging could uncover these displays of political bravado)
So what was the reason for making such an announcement, when they didn’t have to? Well they were determined to get out every possible Yes vote, so by telling voters that they would definitely not get another chance anytime soon “a generation”, was, if you like a scare tactic – it backfired spectacularly, just like the ‘thick’ and now discredited White Paper, with its ‘pie in the sky’ economics.
I’m pessimistic about tonight. I have infrequent experience of Celtic overcoming a poor home result in an away leg; in fact I have more experience of us securing a poor home result after an encouraging away performance. Short of an abject surrender, I will not be too critical of the team if they do lose out but I will still consider it a lost chance because we could have beaten this team.
I don’t think Ange will do wholesale changes but he may play a more physical side, in which case we won’t see Rogic and O’Riley together and we may see Ralston or Scales replace either Juranovic or Taylor. Giakoumakis should start when on a high and Jota is our best chance of creating a breakthrough (in any game). I do not expect to see a reserve 11 and will not criticise on that basis.
I have a Thursday evening Zoom course so will miss the game. I will be recording it so won’t be checking with CQN till I’ve seen the game.

They are a biased source but, even they admit it was said but say that, in context, it did not refer to the referendum. I cannot get too exercised about it either way. It is political fluff rather than substance

The guy I’m talking about was married (to a Japanese lady), lived in Japan and had two kids. I think he was from Clydebank originally as that’s where his dad was from. I met him and his dad at CP for the Neerday huns game. He his wife and two kids went to the previous game at Rugby Park. I wasn’t at that game but my mate met them there. He only posted occasionally and so far as I know hasn’t posted for a long long time.
IT’s weird to be accused of concocting an entire fictional narrative about something so trivial, but maybe offers an insight into the mentality of some of the posters on here. Life must be a dreadful struggle for them.

On this occasion, you have mistaken my motive. It would be just as easy to say that you find it difficult to believe and are only attacking because of your political preferences.
I did add some truths.

I also added the truth about previous attacks on Ernie, based on an imagined fiction on where he lived.
I got questioned quite vigorously on this blog who disbelieved my true claim that I had left CP at full time and had got home to Cambuslang at a time that the poster considers unbelievable. I was astonished at the level of cynicism I was being faced with about a statement that I knew to be inherently true but remained unproven to someone who did not want to believe me because we had apparently disagreed previously on something more important.
I regard the scepticism in regard to Ernie’s domicile and his having met one previous CQN poster to be just as trivial and unimportant as my CP to Cambuslang timing.
By all means, continue to debate important political matters but let the unimportant things go.
If Ernie says he lives in Scotland and attends games but does not meet or choose to meet with us, unless you have evidence to the contrary, you should accept him at his word on personal claims about which you and I know nothing.
