Call me a cynic, but after recent “soft” red cards shown against Motherwell and Hamilton players facing Celtic, I sense a bit of “even themselves out” in store for us at Hampden on Sunday. Memories of Hampden semi-finals against Inverness and Ross County, where we were denied progress and (probably) a trophy due to red cards feature heavily in the memory.
The best chance Newco have to stop Celtic and reach their second Scottish Cup final would be to fall poleaxed on the ground after each and every challenge from a Celtic player. Bobby Madden may feel obliged to show that referees are not scared to red card Scotland’s top players.
Celtic being reduced to 10 men didn’t do Newco any good at Ibrox last month, but they would bite your hand off for a second crack at those numbers.
We need to play smart, especially Scott Brown, who I expect will be targeted. Odds on Madden sending off a Celtic player will be short.

Go onto richersounds.com and look at the Project turntables; the Project Primary or Project Essential 2 are great entry level. f you want to spend more, I’d recommend the Project Debut Carbon DC (which I have); you can even get it in green! Team it up with a Project Phono Stage or the Cambridge Audio Phono Stage (get MM/MC in case you change your turntable cartridge). Project also do an optical phono stage if you want to use the optical input on the Sonos (which I assume it will have).
Worth nipping into Richer Sounds in Glasgow next time you are down for a game! You will get great advice in there

I use B&W A7’s (and a wee B&W T7) for streaming if I’m not using the hifi. These are all streamed through Apple AirPort Express or AirPort Extreme and the sound is superb – all using optical cables.
I have an Airport Express hooked up to my hi-fi and it streams the music using the amps Wolfson WM8740 DAC so the quality loss is minimal.
Still not as good as vinyl but great when working away and I can just play tunes via my MacBook. I work from home so it’s much less effort than getting up to flip or change an album every 20 minutes!
