Odds on Madden sending off a Celtic player

539

Call me a cynic, but after recent “soft” red cards shown against Motherwell and Hamilton players facing Celtic, I sense a bit of “even themselves out” in store for us at Hampden on Sunday.  Memories of Hampden semi-finals against Inverness and Ross County, where we were denied progress and (probably) a trophy due to red cards feature heavily in the memory.

The best chance Newco have to stop Celtic and reach their second Scottish Cup final would be to fall poleaxed on the ground after each and every challenge from a Celtic player.  Bobby Madden may feel obliged to show that referees are not scared to red card Scotland’s top players.

Celtic being reduced to 10 men didn’t do Newco any good at Ibrox last month, but they would bite your hand off for a second crack at those numbers.

We need to play smart, especially Scott Brown, who I expect will be targeted.  Odds on Madden sending off a Celtic player will be short.

I spoke to a member of the SFA recently and he opined that the huns cause more work and headaches than the other 41 clubs combined.

    * David Taylor former CEO of the sfa was appointed to the joint General Secretary and CEO of UEFA, the job that”the greatest administrator in the game” coveted before his cheating caught up with him.

He was really a good guy and had been a boyhood follower of Forfar Athletic, where his father was a director, during the 1970s he became a regular at Easter Road when attending Uni through there, and when he lived in Glasgow he gravitated towards the harry wraggs.

While with the sfa he recruited naesurname as Berti Vogts’ replacement but his resignation to re-join deidco dismayed him and he pressed the sfa’s case against the hun club for compensation, he left hampden shortly after and we all know how that turned out.

Although he loved his job with UEFA he is reputed to have said he hated having to be an apologist for the huns at Zurich which the sfa felt he was entitled tae do as they got him his position in Switzerland.

Gordy, when Dodgy Dave Murray’s MIH group of companies were liquidated ,very little mention of it in our media, unsurprisingly.

The Supreme Court’s decision not upholding the liquidator’s appeal against the EBT decision , again, it was no big deal with our media.

The truth about the two clubs that have played out of Ibrox and how it is reported , or not in this case, says so much about the establishment in our country.

  8. I’ve just seen the video promoting the Hearts 98 Cup win lego memorial bus, for the bargain of only £79.

The Beatles Yellow Submarine lego pack only cost £49!

  9. Why are we still obsessed with the team that died?

    Personally I couldn’t give a tucking fruck

    Our enemy died,end of.

Sure fight all the way for their cheating, get justice

Don’t let them think that we’re obsessed, then they win, they are an irrelevance to me,just a team in blue but the same Scum who support them(Scum = scum)

Delaney’s , I recorded an episode of a 1983 top of the pops on BBC 4 last night.

Bananarama were on it singing Nana nana Kiss him Goodbye ( I prefer the Celtic supports adaptation of it). You were talking of Stiff Little Fingers earlier. The connection beween them and Bananarama is , Tommy Reilly, brother of the Fingers’ drummer, Jim.

Tommy was killed in Belfast , in suspicious circumstances by a soldier . Justice was not served as the soldier who shot Tommy, served a year, then pardoned and returned to his unit as if nothing had happened.

If you get a chance to see X-SLF , including Henry Cluney and Jim Reilly, go see them. Some of my pals and I saw them in McChuills last year, absolutely fantastic. We went there after seeing Ranking Roger’s Beat and the Selecter at the ABC . Each were fantastic also.

DD, Met loads of Hertz fans who hate Celtic more than Hibs.

*Mentioned this before but I’ve been tae Boagheid twice when the calvinists were the visitors, the first time was the opening game of the season, and we were through at Annfield on LC duty so went intae Dumbarton on a cracking late summer’s day instead.

They were in full voice with their war tunes including “eff yer Harry Harry Harry, Lou Macari, Kevin Barry”. Now I had been tae many hun games by this time and games against them when they were like wee mice so was stunned at this.

Unknown tae them the local Fenian’s of the Rock had done the same as me and opted out of Stirling for this game.

At half time they wandered round tae the terracing the jambos were at, complete mayhem and nae singing and not because the Sons won courtesy of a Roy McCormack goal.

When they made their way tae the Common at Dumbarton Station their buses had been tanned as well.

Tontine, thanks for that information about the late David Taylor.

It sounds like he was a lone voice in the SFA & Uefa about the huns and what they were like.

Last time we played Falkirk at their place I was a guest of IBM who had been invited by the Chairman. we were all Tims. When Celtic inevitably scored and we celebrated (quietly) it caused uproar like you wouldn’t believe.

Within a few minutes (despite being guests of the Club) were were advised that we would have to move inside and watch the remainder of the game on TV.

Worse than Ibrox huns! And they were in the posh seats!

  18. Next time they arrived in Dumbarton was during the 3 day week, we were at Easter Road and the huns were playing on the Sunday, I was working that morning so along with a family member went tae Boagheid with a wee kerry oot that afternoon.

They were a wee bit subdued that afternoon even though they won 1-0. As I was leaving a local bluenose spotted me and said “good result the day Tontine”, “why what happened” I responded “Celtic won 4-2”, I was delighted as this was really a good score.

The hibbees were only 3 points behind us going intae this game although we had a far superior GD and would finish runners up tae us only 4 points (2 games) behind.

They had a terrific side which included, Eric Schaedler (who would later play for the Sons), Pat Stanton, John Blackley, Alex Edwards, Jimmy O’Rourke (always a thorn in our side), Alan Gordon (another player the Big Mhan coveted), Alec Cropley, Arthur Duncan and on the bench their record signing “ Harpers a barrel” and Des Bremner.

Dixie a perpetual thorn in their side scored in the 1st and last minute while the MOTM was Kenny, with our massive support praising him in song “Kenny Kenny Dalglish everyone knows his name” tae the tune of Rupert the Bear.

Anyway quite jubilant I went intae the lavvy and a bunch of calvinist were standing there facing the wall, “scheidty score with the animals (us) the day”, now we had just gubbed their local rivals who were 6 points (3 games) ahead of them, so a young nutty me said “naw naw you’ve got it wrang the animals (huns) are playing the morra.

Just at that I was grabbed by the collar by the bluenose I knew and yanked out tae save any confrontation or me getting beat up.

Oh to be a fly on the wall at the SPFL meetings.

Remember this is the organisation that brazenly issued fixtures that allowed the huns to play their final fixture a day after everyone else the year they finished third in the championship.

These are the type of decisions that remove any doubt that the game is rigged in favour of the Huns.
