Odds on Madden sending off a Celtic player

539

Call me a cynic, but after recent “soft” red cards shown against Motherwell and Hamilton players facing Celtic, I sense a bit of “even themselves out” in store for us at Hampden on Sunday.  Memories of Hampden semi-finals against Inverness and Ross County, where we were denied progress and (probably) a trophy due to red cards feature heavily in the memory.

The best chance Newco have to stop Celtic and reach their second Scottish Cup final would be to fall poleaxed on the ground after each and every challenge from a Celtic player.  Bobby Madden may feel obliged to show that referees are not scared to red card Scotland’s top players.

Celtic being reduced to 10 men didn’t do Newco any good at Ibrox last month, but they would bite your hand off for a second crack at those numbers.

We need to play smart, especially Scott Brown, who I expect will be targeted.  Odds on Madden sending off a Celtic player will be short.

I have DSOTM and WYWH both on first press (DSOTM with the solid blue triangle in the centre label). I also have Atom Heart Mother, Ummagumma and Meddle first press.

The only album I don’t have on vinyl is more and I intend to rectify that soon via e-bay!

  3. Why is last game on a Sunday ffs why could the Polis no make that a Saturday for fans travelling from afar.

Absolute shambles, how to run football whilst alienating the fans.

The fixture delay is all about available time slots for TV coverage and misplaced angst from the constabulary referencing incidents from last century !

Don’t think the stramash after any Glasgow Derby is any more or less likely because a title might be won. What if the SFA’s flagship Cup Final that was at stake between the Glasgow Derby rivals ? Is that any different ?

This nonsensical spilt has to be stopped ! The fixtures should be announced before the season commences and then let football take its course.

Agreed, by my calculations I make it only 2 home Saturday league games since turn of year. Not good enough imo.

I think noon against the tribute act is the worst possible time. Folk just start drinking early morning and continue drinkin all day and into the night, when it can get messy.

  10. I think the SPFL should save us all the hassle and just have their computer decide the results of the post-split games for us as well…

  11. San Luis I had a wee dig at Police there as we are told it is them who has the final say on games, obviously TV have asked for the last game to be a Sunday, but why are Celtic allowing that. As a club we should be making sure that last game at home is a Saturday. A no brainer.

Hearing SFA Investigation not aired openly at FF but Celtic have been in touch with SFA and are waiting for SFA Comp Off to report.

Not The View carried an interesting summary of events in 2011/12 – doing a Heineken – reaching the parts social media doesn’t reach.

My usual source didn’t attend because it’s felt that the FF is a carve up by the club; was waiting on info from someone else.

The reason the questions about the Compliance Officer not being raised are the selfsame reasons that some are boycotting the FF!

  18. At what point are folk going to say “Enough” ?

Enough of looking for and finding the worst in others and start looking for and finding and reporting the best.

When are we going take a step back and look at the world fear has created and decide to change our minds where fear has its birthplace.

This applies to more than football but sticking strictly to football our game is where it now finds itself because in 2012 folk running it feared the worst instead of looking for and planning for the best.

The 5 Way Agreement. The LNS Sham. All of it born of fear of “Armageddon” that has led to something worse. Loss of the faith in the human capacity to love.

Love is doing the right thing without fear of the consequences. Consequences that evaporate in Love’s light.

I thought we onto Foo Fighters. What a great live band they are. Dave Grohl is defo a Tim. ??

  23. VFR,

Thanks for that. I definitely need to speak to someone about what is best for my needs. I used to have the old “separates” – turntable, amp, tuner, and speakers as big as coffins, but when the kids came along, and with the advent of cd’ and more recently, digital downloads, everything was ‘downsized and compact. Biggest mistake i made, because I’m now going down the road of hankering after the ‘richer’ sound and depth that you get with vinyl…….

We have a pretty good store here in Aberdeen called Holburn Hi-Fi, who I used to use, but a visit to Richer Sounds definitely sounds like a good move next time I’m down…..whenever the next home game is which disnae involve the hun :-)

    Delaneys,

I got The Endless River on iTunes on the day of release, special edition with videos, and a digital booklet, but was very tempted to buy the vinyl edition ( no pun intended ). A bit pointless until I have something to play it on. I was blown away by the album, in the same way I was when I first heard DSOTM and WYWH. I love the way they built everything around the old stuff they had left over from Richard Wright and The Division Bell recordings. It’s frequently heard in a large part of my street……. ;-)

And Roger Waters is still a genius. I love his solo stuff.
