OSAZE URHOGHIDE has left Celtic after just one start in two years after arriving from Sheffield Wednesday.

The 23-year-old defender took his bow in the 3-2 Europa League win over Real Betis at Parkhead in December 2021 – and was never seen again.

Urhoghide spent last season on a second loan stint at Belgian outfit KV Oostende and has now quit on a permanent basis after signing a three-year deal with French Ligue 2 side Amiens, as reported by sports media outlet FootMercato.

HAPPIER TIMES…Osaze Urhoghide after his arrival from Sheffield Wednesday in the summer of 2021.

The versatile player, who can perform at right-back and central defence, was already on his way to Glasgow from Hillsborough before Ange Postecoglou arrived as Neil Lennon’s successor in June 2021.

Coincidentally, he joined the Hoops at the same time as his Wednesday team-mate Liam Shaw who has just agreed a season-long loan deal at Shaun Maloney’s Wigan, as CQN reported at the weekend.

Brendan Rodgers also gave the go-ahead for quadruple treble hero Conor Hazard’s move to Plymouth Argyle and okayed left-back Adam Montgomery’s temporary switch to Scott Brown’s Fleetwood Town.
