Operation Get Lawwell Out

837

When Tony Mowbray was in charge of Celtic the club wrote to the SFA regarding the standard of refereeing in Scotland almost on a weekly basis.  The outcome of this correspondence was not constructive, if anything, some at the Association hardened their stance.

A lot has subsequently happened.

Yesterday’s Sunday Mail referred back to Celtic’s dialogue with the SFA during Mowbray’s tenure, which I found interesting.  Soon after, when a referee was found to have lied to Neil Lennon (and his supervisor), the association were vulnerable.  Wounds opened at that time which have not healed.

The ‘paper suggested Peter Lawwell is “Driven, obsessively controlling, politically statute, manipulative.  A master of the dark arts.  There’s nothing he won’t do to get Celtic what they want.  No-one he won’t attempt to control to get it”.

Quite a character assassination.  I wonder what they’re worried about?

We are also told that our chief exec has “An over-arching influence on every facet of the Scottish game. He could have had a crack at sorting it for everyone.  But no. That wouldn’t have sold any season tickets, would it?”

Those of you who bought a season ticket on the back of Peter Lawwell’s letter must feel the club went to extraordinary lengths to win your business.  The article shared the fantasy many football fans have that Peter Lawwell being on the SFA board means Peter Lawwell controls the SFA.  He doesn’t, but he is a formidable advocate of reform.

So what are they worried about?  From my perspective, pretty much everything.  The old ways were liquidated, we’re living in times with only one Super Power.  The old ways are gone and they are never coming back.

Calls for Peter Lawwell to resign from the SFA board because he “wouldn’t recognise the greater good” are laughable.  Those who interpret subtext will know this reads ‘Lawwell is an animated asker of difficult questions’.

What started five years ago with DVDs arriving at Hampden showing Robbie Keane yards onside has gotten a whole lot more serious, and personal, judging by the sustained attack on our CEO.  If you think this is about Celtic writing a letter about a referee decision a week ago you couldn’t be further from the truth.

Never try to manipulate a master of the dark arts.

This year’s CQN Golf Open will be held on Friday 24 July at Aberdour Golf Club. This is our 11th annual event and looks set to be a cracker once again. We shall be raising funds for one of our nominated charities and there will be a number of fundraising activities both on the day and in the weeks leading up to the event.

Please keep an eye open for details. Cost for the golf day is £80 including the meal at night. There are a limited number of night time places for non-golfers, cost £45.

To apply for a place, please contact cqnopen15@gmx.co.uk

There was a chance – in a life time – to, drag Scotland’s little secret onto the world-stage and…out of the anti-Celtic-establishments hands by…arranging a ‘national-media-conference’…and, amongst other things…spill-the dossier to the ‘nation’ not the hun-edited-Scoattish-version…along the lines of what, MO’N did in the Nou-Camp…exclude the local-media from the said ‘conference’ then…ban them indefinitely so that the club wouldn’t have to explain themselves to the serpents of Murray.

Is there any street-wisdom in the Celtic boardroom?

If so…why conspire to serve up the Celtic fans with the clubs compliance of the OB-bill?

Did the club think they could keep their deceit a secret?

Ye see….ye can have all the meetings that yeez want and…I know that there is a lot of goodwill involved but…good folk will be trampled over by the custodians of the club…so…imho…yeez are aiming yer guns at the wrong targets.

Every Celtic supporter should know that…the Scottish establishment ‘are’ out to get them…one way or another.

What few Celtic supporters seem to grasp is that…Celtic’s custodians would sell them to all the devils in hell…in a heartbeat…they tried to do this with their ‘blood-dripping-hands-of-complicity’ in their part in the OB-bill.

Yer enemies are in yer own beds…why cant yeez see this?

    I dont have a lot of time so…..my solution….

Get a Celtic Board full of, rebellious Celtic Supporters who wont do deals with the devil behind, Celtic fans backs.

Until the above happens….yeez can meet every day and…still be at the back of the bus, and the Celtic Board will be driving behind the bus in their Rolls Royces that you all paid for, whilst they count the rest of yer money….pissing themselves at yeez.

    ……..oot.

    Good Morning All.

I should explain that I have been in my bed for the last three days with a stinker of a cold and so when I made my post last night about the use of the word “Hun” and the history of the SNP etc I promptly feel asleep immediately afterwards as a result of the meds.

Anyway, in an attempt to answer some of the replies ( though I am not going to address everyone by name basically because I would be here all day ) I would say the following.

    Easy ones first.

Fred C Dobbs — No if our support was thier support and behaved in the same way of the Rangers support over a long period of time then I would walk away from the club lock stock and barrel. I know a couple of guys who were brought up as Rangers fans who are now in their 50’s and who have done exactly that, though there is then the debate as to whether or not it would have been better and possibly more morally correct to continue to support and to stand up and be counted by being openly and loudly critical of the offensive supporting behaviour concerned.

However, at the end of the day that is an individual choice, made on family grounds and values and it is hardly for the likes of me to determine whether route A or B is right or wrong.

ACGR – Ha! What on earth did you say that got two posts removed? Nothing that you would not be afraid to say to my face that is for sure and nothing that I can think of that would not have been met with an instant right big …………grin!

Whatever it was I am disappointed if it has been removed, mind you, you can always e-mail me the insulting terms concerned or wait till I see you in person.

Awe Naw — honestly! I have never met you and appreciate you have certain points of view and come at things from a certain angle but you continuously go down a wrong road in certain areas.

You really do have the ability to make six and six make thirteen sometimes so much so that you deserve a seat on the PLC board.

Conciliation always has a part to play in any negotiation but so does waging war with a smile. Don’t confuse the two. Auldheid is a natural mediator, negotiator and conciliator and I don’t think he will mind me saying that.

However, to get to mediation or conciliation you first of all have to take a stand and start on a march and clearly if you retrace your steps and go back to where you started from that is not conciliation but capitulation.

Anyway, check in with Morrissey as to where we are and where who stands on what.

There is a tale to tell about when I first started to discuss the idea of bringing a resolution before the AGM with Auldheid several years ago. Nothnig to do with Res 12 – far more radical – and the idea hasn’t gone away and maybe it’s time will come.

But that is for another day.

    Generally:

The problem with this country is that there is not nerely enough anarchy.

The general election for years and years and years has always been about voting in the Tories or The Labour Party to Westminster so that one of them can govern the country from Westminster.

Now remember that it was only in 1948 that the UK was given a central bank when the Bank of England was nationalised.

Ever since then we have seen the growing march towards an ever more influential monetary seat of power in London with Westminster ceasing to be a gathering place for MP’s from all backgrounds, all walks of life, to come together and govern for the benefit of the whole country — and by that I mean the UK.

Since 1948 the world has changed out of all recognition and the power of the banks and the city of London in particular has grown out of all reasonably anticipted vision. The advent of broadcasting, the internet, the power of broadcasters and press baron’s like Murdoch etc means that we are fed information like bird seed being fed to budgies.

Westminster no longer governs for the benefit of the UK and instead Governs for the benefit of Westminster.

There is no or little difference between the Tory party and The Labour party in many respects. Both are full of people who want to get to Westminster for the sake of getting to Westminster and even those who march down to London with good intent find that they are stymied by a political system that knocks those intentions out of them.

I am for tearing it down completely and radically.

Real abolition of the Lords. Real limits on the number of years you can serve as an MP. A straight salary for sitting members with no expenses etc etc etc.

    Re the OB act.

A more stupid and disreputable piece of legislation there never was and I don’t care which party or who intriduced it.

I can understand the idea behind it — but that is not the way to get rid of sectarianism or offensive behaviour and it is not the way to frame or use the law in practice or design.

Kenny McAskill’s legal brain was the size of an atom if that.

It is not the use of any individual words etc that makes an offence it is the attitude and the bahviour of the person that constitutes criminal behaviour.

The words ” Big Pink Pants” are not sectarian or offensive but if I run up to a stranger in the street and shout ” BIG PINK PANTS” in their face or at them on a repeated basis then I am undoubtedly committing a breach of the peace.

If that then started some sort of craze where lots of people did it on a regular basis would the Government of the day be justified in criminalising the words ” big pink pants”?

    Of course not.

A football crowd will sing all sorts of things.

Cast your mind back to many a year ago.

When crowds around the country started singing ” Harper’s a barell — Harper’s a barell of shite shite shite” should Joe Harper or his mammy or his pals or anyone else be reasonably entitled to have everyone or anyone in the ground arrested becuase he was offended?

The act is stupid, badly worded, capable of being manipulated and used for the wrong reasons but the act doesn’t govern what any one of us does on a daily basis.

We do that as individuals and this individual just doesn’t like using the word hun in the main.

Not saying I am right, not saying anyone else is wrong. Just a personal choice.

Maybe I am just a curmudgeon but I have an awful tendency towards going east when I see the crowd going west.

Only watched the first ten minutes of the Ronny Deila lecture posted by SFTB @ 8:24 but will certainly watch it later. I imagine I will consider it compulsory viewing for all Celtic Supporters. I believe Ronny is a bit special.

I watched it all and was not surprised to see the knowledge this man has, he is a hands on manager with lines drawn in the sand, seems to have all the angles covered, we are lucky to have him, and we will be very lucky to keep him, in his own native tongue he is a different guy you can see that, more comfortable and secure, I see that here too as he is getting better and seems more comfortable with interviews recently.

    I hope I’m right.

but why the blinkers with regards to the custodians actually doing anything ?

Why do they leave it to the guys like yourself and the Celtic Trust ?

Because they are reticent (sorry Auldheid :-)) to change, we are the least of their worries. low risk dont rock the boat due to their own negligence as Res 12 confirms

‘Real limits on the number of years you can serve as an MP.’

I am merely pointing out that Ronny, obviously IMO, is a well educated young man. One that will benefit Celtic greatly as he shares his vision. Also one who will handle the MSM but will infuriate them with his honesty and outlook.

As Ronny points out, conflict is ok as long as you learn and grow from it.

If you perceive a conflict with me, for some reason, then I hope you learn from this post, that I am not a Hun, just someone who appreciates someone who makes his views known in a considered and well thought out fashion, like our manager.

I agree with you about The House of Lords. I am inherently opposed to hereditary power but have yet to see a viable alternative.

Possibly a solution along the lines of The U.S. Only 100 elected. Not the nosebagging unelected many we see now.

Next, politicians are like every other worker. The more experience the better. It breeds a healthy disdain for management. Though you still get the odd brown-noser.

As for salary only, you are correct. But BRT&H raises a valid point. The expenses system is an open door to fraud-including tax evasion. Like so many things in UK politics it needs reform. I know of companies in London who employ from other parts of the UK and who give their staff a flatshare with a colleague. And none of your Rachman-type hovels either.
