If you were a professional football player, you would love to be in the Celtic dressing room tomorrow evening. You would have the perfect opportunity to challenge yourself; put in a big, meaningful performance. Record a bit of history and create a uniquely memorable victory.
There are some players who are fraught with anxiety on such occasions, but there are others who NEED these games, need an edge, to reach their peak. If we have a team full of the latter, Legia are in for a torrid night.
I’m doing my best to ignore the naked opportunism in our media this week. There is no point complaining about it, lose heavily and you become vulnerable to those who live to revel in a Celtic defeat. Don’t lose and you don’t give them (friends and foes alike) a chance.
We’ve been here before. Artmedia, Braga, Utrecht, Sion (despite the reprieve) and Karagandy all exposed an aching heart. European football is unforgiving, try to transition and you’ll find someone ready to exploit, but that doesn’t mean you are wrong to transition.
We might talk about this transition more later in the month but we have a game to win first. Can’t wait.
Check out the fantastic work by the cyclists who are taking part in the Paradise to Cardenden Cycle 2014 on 6 September. You can join them – all you need is a bike. Get involved, you’ll be delighted you did, I promise. Read about it here.

B+, could do better…. o))
great wee read mate…
Yesterday I wrote about Celtic blocking broadcast sale. One hour after Polish TV announced news that there will be no game in TV, Celtic wrote on official website about Exclusive for Celtic TV. They signed contract with the TV from Norway which was finally cancelled. I’m gutted like many in here. Imagine, this is second game after the game in Scotland and Legia are blocking TV, you have no chance to watch it anywhere. I thought UEFA and FIFA games are publico bono. I could understand if this was SPL game or Cup game.
Still don’t get this myth about Stokes. Rarely does the business when it matters.

Absolutely MAGIC!

£1 million salary for CEO. Millions wasted on projects such as balde and bangura, and the likes of pukki – a striker who has scored 15 percent of his total career goals in club football in the city of Edinburgh.
This is not being very careful with our money; it is wasteful

PL telling the supporters, that Celtic are a CL team.
But wont invest in the team.
Then he sells our best players.
Can someone tell me how that strategy can be successful?
HH
Why the TV blackout on tonights game?? You would think that Scotland’s media don’t want their champions to do well in Europe..
Michty me..

I dont give sky a penny either.i wish Scottish subscribers collectively would pressurize sky to keep Scottish subscriptions in Scotland.

I think there will be a big crowd tonight, I thought the atmosphere was good in the last round at least that’s how it looked online, okay it’s not Celtic Park but the travelling spurt made it special.
Mon the Hoops
Oh to be in Embra the day..
67 Heaven. Because you are at an extreme end of the Celtic supporting spectrum. Fair play to you for that. You are welcome to your opinion.
It’s the usual on here though. You criticise and the big label comes out.
So easy to do and makes others join in.
I’ve been posting and reading this site since day dot and have previously been known as emmet bhoy and the left back.
Some people carry their own agendas. There are obvious ones. I write about Celtic Football Club because I care and believe we can change and get better.

Going back 30-odd years,£600 was the grant from University Senate to recognised associations.
Including The Engineering Society.
The ‘commiteh’ including myself discussed how to spend this windfall wisely.
We settled on buying barrels of beer and selling tickets for the ensuing piss-up!
Made a profit too.
So we did it again every term!
BOBBY MURDOCH’S CURLED-UP WINKLEPICKERS
YEAH you are correct so instead of my bank details why don’t I just give them yours and we can all wait for your call to the big night.
ps if they see my account they might just feel sorry for me and make a deposit.
The green man….
We will end up like sevco under this board?
I am confused with that statement….
I certainly don’t see us spending millions of pounds of other people’s money and not paying taxes to gain an upper hand!
As for tonight ….. we will win this game…. easily
Wether it’s enough to turn the tie around? I’m not sure.
But let’s be honest here…
For the amount of money in the Scottish game
We are punching WELL ABOVE OUR WEIGHT in Europe.
It’s a playground for the TV enriched leagues.
We cry for players out our wage structure…
But forget numerous things such as….
Diddy yes DIDDY players down south for instance earning in excess of £60k per week
WE CANNOT AFORD IT.
Then we forget that decent players don’t want to play in our DIDDY league (even with newco there) as the thought of visiting a half empty Caledonia stadium or rugby park certainly doesn’t inspire.
Sad to say….
Till things change… Europa league is our level in our current financial environment, and not to be ashamed of.

If I didnt know any better….id say the huns on the plc are deliberately shafting the fans abd the club.
Only a first class idiot would believe Celtic can be a cl team without investment in
the team….this is the height of absurdity.
Top businessmen my arse.
The plc have plenty brown brogues round the trough.
They are trying to sabotage Celtic from within
Dont let them
Plc huns out

I don’t know about huns on the board mate. It’s just that you said “Im not taking this crap anymore” it sounded to me like you had a plan of action? I might be reading you wrong.

Reckon you can make it to Glasgow on 11/10?
Alternatively a Saturday in Wolverhampton with TWISTSNTURNS and a few fillies-or Monmore and some bitches-is on the cards later in the year.
Overnight stays all round.
Celtic probably didn’t want this game on TV in Scotland because they want as many people in the stadium as possible.
It’s all about the money at every level.
Oh,btw-you don’t really have to bring the £600!

The link you used to question my charge against the board highlighted that the £50k given to the Calton Food Bank came from Celtic supporters through the Celtic Foundation when they purchased tickets for the Stan Petrov match. The money didn’t come from Celtic FC.
Again however, you tried to provide some sort of fudge regarding my original point.
PL gave the instruction not to support the GB food drive. It was he who gave the instruction, going back on a previous agreement, that there was to be no mention on any official club media outlet.
Regardless of reasons, that’s disgraceful in my eyes.
Listen Pat, if you think I enjoy going to meetings at Parkhead on behalf of Celtic supporters who’ve been banned by the club on the basis of trumped up charges and without internal investigations being carried out, you’re wrong.
If you think I enjoy having to meet with JPT because of grievances I have with SOME aspects of Celtic’s policy and behaviour, you’re wrong.
If you think I enjoy seeing my partner being searched 4 times during a 200 yard walk from the bus park at Pittodrie to the turnstiles, you’re wrong.
I spoke with Eddie T a while back during the fundraising for the Amsterdam Bhoys and he told me how fed up with it all he was and how he just wanted to get back to supporting Celtic.
However, so long as he felt the club were abusing their position he felt it necessary to question their actions.
I’ll continue to do the same whilst supporting the team on the park with every sinew in my body.
Enjoy the game tonight.
Hail Hail
